I was actually thinking of wearing my Chelsea Cech jersey while buying and then burning an Arsenal Cech jersey. Kind of a purifying ritual. Does that make me a bad person? :P

It is for someone of Petr's ability but...if we look at it in the following way. 

 

Say that is the true price, and say we are interested in Begovic. Stoke want Moses back, that much is clear. Begovic, like Cech, has one year left on his deal. Now Stoke can try and pretend the situations are the same, but Cech, while older, is a proven world class goalkeeper, a multi time winner. Begovic, while good, is not near Cech's level, and he may never be. He is a very good Premier League keeper but, for now, that is all.

 

So if Cech with 1 year left on his deal is worth 10.9mill, Begovic is worth less. Probably more in the 7mill-8mill catagory I would say. Given Moses played well for them and is an attacking player I would say his value is probably in the same region.

 

So if we can straight swap Moses for Begovic, net the money from Cech and have at least one season of Begovic on say a 4 year deal, then if he turns round and asks to leave his price is likely up to 10.9mill or so.

 

From that point of view decent money, a solid number 2 again covering us for at least next season.

Personally couldn't care less about the fee. I'd rather he went on a free to any other club in the world than to arsenal for £50mil, let alone 11.
