You can keep your f**king Bundesligas and La Ligas, give me the PL any day.

It's lacking the quality, but it's still the most entertaining league by far. Look at that table, it's ridiculous.

The only reason Barca and Real look so good is that other teams don't even bother trying against them. For me, quality means competition. It's much harder to win the prem than la Liga because of the competition. Surely that means it's the best league.

Fair point. CFC's revival under Hiddink has been impressive and you are not far from the top four. I hope the revival, particularly the use of some fresh blood, continues.

just did the sums for fun - under Hiddink we've averaged 2 points per game. had we done that from the season's start we'd be second on 56 points.

But when teams from this country play these teams, they're clearly better. Barcelona have built arguably the greatest team ever (I could limit it to club teams but I'm not) and maybe they do have some easy games, but El Classico or a cup tie with Bayern is the best against the best.

They'd probably walk this league as well.

It depends what you value. We had the perfect combination of quality and competition in 2008 when Chelsea and Man United were the two best teams in the world. Now we have competition with lower quality.

The only reason they're better is because they poach all the best players and are richer. These one team leagues annoys me. Germany and France are stupid leagues. Spain is just as bad but at least Atheltico Madrid are trying to push it.

more sums for fun: Liverpool...

Average points gained from 8 games under Brendan Rodgers = 2 per game

Average points gained from 19 games under Jurgen Klopp = 1.57 per game

That's progress ?!

After 28 games of last season we were on 64 points - 7 more than Leicester now and with +15 better goal difference.

But these are the teams competing at the very highest levels of the sport and that's where we're aiming to be isn't it?

La Liga has had 3 different teams win 4 of the last years - same as England. In that same time they've had 2 Champions League winners, had an all-Spanish final and one of the years they didn't win was when we did.

The decline in quality at the top of this league is notable but not reversible. Leicester might be a fairytale for some but for supporters of this club it's a real wake-up call that we aren't a top team at the moment and we need to get back there somehow.

This season isn't an aberration in anyway - it's the culmination of something, a decline from when the Premier League ruled the world in 2008 to whatever we have now.

That decision to announce Pep so early is looking more and more bizarre.

Where is the motivation for Pellegrino?

They spent huge money this season and they've completely under performed.

I think they have the least excuses for not being top right now.

Main positive for me is that hopefully this means we go no where near Pellegrino next season.

Arsenal tv up yet?

It will be up around half 11 fella, There will be a few rants tonight, I'm just hoping Claude goes in hard, No holds barred and i also hope Ty keeps the faith which leads to Claude getting worked up and giving him a right hook Mayweather style which leads to an all out cafuffle.

Arsene has to go at the end of this season. If they can't win it now, they'll never win it.

City have gone into freefall in the league, losing 3 on the bounce. They could miss out on Champions League.

We could actually have Leicester, Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs representing us in the Champions League which is a shocking indictment of the quality of English football.

You'd think if Arse fail this year their Board would have to have a quiet word with Arsene. On the other hand, LVG could be salvaging his position with a top 4 place.

I just cannot see Arsehole Whinger surviving if Leicester win the league.

He sure as f**k won't if Tottenham do.

If they kick out Arsene without a clear transition plan and succession plan, I see it becoming worse than David Moyes Man United. In that situation, Man United had plenty of time to prepare for the transition, and it still didn't go well. When a club has been so shaped by one man, you can't just drop him and expect things to go smoothly. Everything down to the pitch dimensions and grass have Arsene's mark.

Of course it's possible that the board has already prepared a transition plan. They surely know that at Arense's age, anything can happen health wise including cognitive deterioration.

My hunch is that as long as they make Champion's League, and probably even without Champion's League, he's safe for at least one more season when his contract expires. From the board's perspective, Arsenal is a business, and a healthy one at that. Fans have been critical of Arsene for not spending more, but I think the board like and encourage his spending habits. Whole clubs have been ruined by spendthrift managers.

What a crazy couple of days.

Jesus, "ifs" and all that, but a couple of those draws under hiddink turned to wins...the slow start under Jose...could be a whole different story

But it's funny seeing the inevitable Arsenal collapse again.

Never a dull moment

Of course I'd rather I'd not have sat through the sh*te that was the first 4 months of this season, but it's almost great for us to implode and see the arse still fcuk it up...As long as Spurs don't win title of course

Almost correct. We'd be actually leading because Leicester would have 2 or 3 points less. 2 points on average means 4 against Leicester so either a win or a draw at the first game instead of a loss.
