Jose Must Go / Must Stay (merged threads)

Featured Replies

Jurgan Klopp, right? The same bloke who almost got Dortmund relegated last season, right?

Yes the same guy who lost Gotze, Lewandowski, Gundogan and Reus to either Bayern or long injuries. That was their entire attacking lineup. I doubt Mourinho would have liked something simillar happening to him, where he didn't get to choose "top shelf" replacements.

It's sad that when I come on here the last two discussed threads are "Mourinho must go" and "Jose it's time to go". I know it's the minority that speak out against the manager like that but I'm speaking to everyone when I say, yes they've upset us this season but that team won the league at a canter last year and they will be back, never lose your faith in a manager like Jose Mourinho

No you haven't read the title wrong. Sorry to disappoint. I'm sick to death of people saying Mourinho needs to go on the basis of a few poor games. Where would United be if they'd dumped Ferguson after his poor start to life there? Which occurred over a much longer period than 10 games and he hadn't already had a very successful tenure at the club. Every club goes through its rough patches it's how they get out of it that separates us from the perpetual 'nearly men' and underachievers. With Mourinho we have a manager that can get us out of this poor run by any means necessary so people need to think just who they would replace Mourinho with. On top of that he's also the best manager of the last 10 years in my eyes bar Ferguson. The man is a serial winner and we need to remember that- I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with one or two trophies at the end of the season.

Sorry for the essay but someone needs to stick up for the bloke- yes his football can be turgid at times and he needs to add youth development to his skills to be considered the best manager of all time.

Give the guy a chance for goodness sake.

P.S in before word salad appears

Agree 100%. People seem to forget this is the same manager that won us 3 league titles in his 5 seasons here. We are very much still in the title race despite our poor start and our CL campaign has barely begun, anyone who thinks he should be sacked should go and support City.

I would say the title is slowly slipping away if it hasnt already as it would take a serious miracle and a great manager. Well we have 1 out of those 2 at least

We've a long way to go before we need to start looking at a change of manager but certainly some things will need to change. Firstly Mourinho needs to stop playing his 'favourites' week in week out.

The appalling football is bad enough - playing a midfield that gets overrun week after week, full backs on the wrong side, limiting our forward movement, the negative, cynical approach. There's the inability to play some of the best youth talent in Europe. But then there's the arrogance, the constant slagging off of other managers, the gracelessness in defeat and the general bad air this creates.

It's time for Mourinho to go and to bring in a manager who plays football the way it should be played, ensuring the future of Chelsea FC.

Ok sunshine, I'm going to do you a courtesy you don't deserve, and actually try to respond to your post.

The appalling football.. did you write further in the thread that this is the worst football you've ever seen from a Chelsea side? And that you've been supporting the club since the seventies? Seriously? So where were you when we were in division 2? Losing 7-1 at Wolves, 6-0 at Rotherham and crashing out of the League Cup to Crewe? Those are three of the worst performances I can remember, but there were many many more. The "appalling" football of this season is worlds away from the stuff we used to endure. Strange thing is, we didn't complain anywhere as much about losing 7-1 or 6-0 as the likes of you do about coming away from St James Park - never our happiest of hunting grounds - with a point. And don't give me this "yes but expectations are different now" bollocks. Of course they are, but you my son, are acting like a spoilt brat.

It may have escaped your notice but we have recently lost several highly influential, even legendary players. Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, Didier Drogba. It's not that long since Ashley Cole left the club either, and with John Terry seemingly in decline - or at least not in the best of form, preventing from getting his accustomed place in the starting line up, the gaps are going to be huge. There's a lot of ground to be made up, and like it or not it's going to take time.

What else? Inbility to play some of the best young talent in Europe. This is a whole other discussion. But let's back track a little. The Chelsea youth system had fallen into neglect until the advent of the Academy, which is still in its infancy, and is only now beginning to bear fruit. Like it or not, there are in fact very few players who've come through the youth system who would get into the starting line-up. Remember Fabio Borini? Looked the dog's bollocks at youth level, scoring for fun. Many of us thought it was a mistake to let him go, but where is he now? Sunderland, and he's not exactly setting the world alight. Also refer to something Alex Ferguson said the other day, which was that while Man U did try to bring youngsters through their long established youth system, it was also a nice little earner. With the Beckham, Giggs etc generation they struck lucky. We may strike similarly lucky at some stage in the future, but that stage isn't the here and now.

Saying that of course we'd like more of the youngsters to make it in the first time. But we have to be very, very patient.

Next up. Mourinho's arrogance and his attitude to other managers. Like who? Arsene f**king Wenger? Arrogance personified, Jose was quite right in what he implied about the Whinging French clown. And your phrase "gracelessness in defeat" fits Wenger to a tee. Now compare Mourinho's record over the last decade or so with Wenger's Arrogance, may I remind you can be defined as an "unwarranted attitude of superiority". Given their respective records over that same period, the "unwarranted attitude of superiority" is surely Wenger's.

And finally. "football the way it should be played." There is no such thing. There is good football and there is bad football, winning football and losing football. Last season we were able to vary our style of play accordingly, and we won the league along with the league cup.. This season we're struggling to an extent that none of us imagined possible. These things happen. There has been a theory that the slow start to pre-season was a deliberate ploy, that we're aiming to end the season on a high rather than burning out towards the latter stages as we did last season. There have also been hints that we intend concentrating our efforts on the Champions League this season. Maybe there's something in this, maybe Mourinho is as genuinely bemused by our current form as the rest of us.

Either way (sorry did I say finally? I lied) You started this thread after a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle. Not a defeat, but a draw. Not only a draw, but a comeback from 2-0 down at what is arguably Jose Mourinho's unluckiest ground. See my reaction when Willian made it 2-2 was "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS", but you? "Newcastle were bottom of the league and we never beat them We're crap.We play horrible football. It's all Mourinho's fault.. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH"

Oh and finally. Yes I really do mean it this time, what's this about "securing the future of Chelsea FC"? How long did you say you've been supporing the club? Remember the Save The Bridge Fund? Marler Estates threatening to turn the site of Stamford Bridge into luxury flats? Back then the future of Chelsea FC was anything but secure.

But now? We've made a bad start to the season.

That's all.

. .

We've a long way to go before we need to start looking at a change of manager but certainly some things will need to change. Firstly Mourinho needs to stop playing his 'favourites' week in week out.

I think 90 percent of our problems would be resolved if we stopped playing Ivanovic.

Remy was not an integral part to our title campaign last year, he is an ok back up striker. Lukaku is better. Mata was our best player up until mourinho arrived, he was a consistent performer, fabregas was excellent the first half of last season, since then he has declined, would swap him for mata at the drop of a hat. The transfers in haven't been bad, nor have been good. Its the fact that in a lot of our transfers of recent we have somewhat downgraded.

He wasn't? Yet he won us points, how is that not been integral?

Haven't met a single fan who's wanted Mourinho out.

There's a handful on this forum with short memories and shorter patience.

and scouse accents.

Care to show us anything constructive or fair about the opinion these posts are hammering?

Quick labelling jose's critics with some namcalling and the unwillingness to see where they're coming from are fine example of it..

Do ya really think the poeple that want him off is just because a couple of bad games? We all have our own preference on what type of manager that we like, the style, the way how he conducts himself on/off the pitch etc.. Maybe the people who want him out are never a fan of jose so when jose doesn't show what he's good at anymore and still maintain his bad trait, it gives no reason for them to put up with him because the only thing that keep them floating is the wellness of the club and the club ain't doing well now..

You have as much right defedning him as much we critizising him.. I dont have a problem with that, it's the attitude for not able to accept his critics that gets on my skin.. If these people just want a different manager, does that make them less a fan than you lot in jose's fan eyes? With the way how this thread going, it seems so..

Hi everyone, as you can tell I'm a Liverpool fan. I randomly decided to search out a Chelsea fan forum tonight to see what many of your feelings are. I truly don't have a reason to post this, other than being a fan of the sport in general. LFC are struggling as well and I wanted to see the POV from fans of the struggling Chelsea team. Surprisingly they are pretty similar. I watch a lot of Chelsea games, actually pretty much every PL game on my free time. I live in the States where we have NBC live stream where we can watch every match, at any time, so on my free time I try to watch every game possible (mainly the top 5).

Chelsea would be nuts to sack Mourinho, but at the same time it will be his own doing. I can't for the life of me figure out why he has stuck with Ivanovic and Cesc to name a few, but dropped Terry. From some of the posts I've read Baba hasn't seemed to hit the ground running, but can he do any worse than Ivanovic right now?! I personally like Ivanovic, he seems like a decent guy and a hard worker that tries but is just flat out awful right now. Everybody and their grandmother knows they are targeting him yet nothing has been done. If Mourinho is set on playing Ivanovic, drop Cesc. Move Oscar deep, Willian to cover Ivanovic, Hazard in the middle and Pedro on the opposite flank!

Matic seems to have lost a step, but he is covering Cesc, Ivan, and an inexperienced Zouma who will naturally make his fair share of mistakes (I like him btw). He can't work miracles (the same can be said about Hazard). Speaking on Hazard, I personally think he is mentally drained for a couple of reasons: Mainly he knows hes a target and will get his a** kicked and shoved to the ground daily. He also had to carry the team for the back end of last season, and so far it seems to me much hasn't changed (althought Pedro is a nice addition). Costa is more worried about semantics. BTW I hate Costa!! Although, I'd love him on my team.

Truth be told, there is nothing more I'd love than to see a top four of Liverpool, City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.. At the expense of the Mancs.
