Bertrand was sold at a time when Ivan was performing well, and Azpi had secured the LB spot.  He wasn't getting a look in and left, so we got Luis, who didn't get a look in either despite Ivan dipping in performance levels 

 

Now, I've no idea other than Baba is still young and adapting, but I think we have to try something else and make Ivan realize that he's not invincible.

 

Also, with Matic and Fab in the middle of the 4-2-3-1 formation I think it exposes us, and Ivan too much.  I'd rather see us got back to 4-3-3

Baba looks like a young Ashley Cole, is out of position often and leaves his CB exposed, but a real handful going forward. Jose DOES NOT like that type of full back, so you have to wonder why we signed him.

I hope Jose at least give us a chance by picking 11 real players. I feel Jose deliberately rested players last night and played for a draw, would have come off had we took our chances. I have no doubt Matic/Hazard/Oscar will be back for this game. If we don't score the first goal in the first 15, we will be in trouble.

I've dropped my expectations for this team for this year.

Those 5 players in attack are too lightweight, it's starting to get embarrassing watching teams just waltz through our midfield, it would be fair enough if they were ripping up the opposition and banging in the goals, but when you lose the ball in midfield you immediately put your defence on the back foot.

 

RLC offers 500% more than Fabregas in terms of strengthening our midfield, he's quicker, stronger, and doesn't need a stupid black bandanna when a simple white one will do.

JT needs to return and Bran needs to be dropped. Maybe this is the game, this could be the one Jose comes to his senses. Play Zouma at RB ffs, just make the changes.

If he picks his favorites again and we lose he's a goner. Roman will pull the trigger and give Klopp a call, the compensation payout be damned.

I think Mourinho has atleast 2 more loses before Roman shoots

We need to get some leadership back into the side therefore JT HAS to start. If Jose feels the need to persist with a centre back at right back and that Baba is not ready to start then why not give Zouma a crack at right back.

Hazard has been in sh*t form but is still our best player, he has to play some of the games last season he was getting us results from nothing he needs to start doing the same.

 

Willian has probably been our best player  this season so would be inclined to start him over Pedro but Jose will probably stick them both in there, Up top both our back ups have been sh*t so it's a toss up really.

I live in fear of Mane vs Ivanovic..

Minor difference. He scored 17 goals for Vitesse. Also had 7 assists. That's a goal or assist every 114 minutes.

 

If we look at the second half of the season when he was moved to centre forward he scored 15 goals and had 6 assists in 1800 minutes of play (so basicaly  a goal or assist every 90 minutes).

 

And just look at his goal highlights summary - the finishing was Henryesque - almost entirely placement, little power, makes scoring look easy. I for one find it disgusting that a player of his talent isn't even on our bench, while Ivanovic plays week in, week out.

He didn't stink up the joint either. In one game all the wingers focused on Ivanovic and in the other had 4 successful tackles, 3 dribbles and a 91% passing accuracy. Not always positionally sensible, but well... Ivanovic is the alternative...
