Pretty simple question - what films are you looking forward to seeing in the future? Ones that have been announced but won't be due out for a while.

I'm looking forward to Mockingjay Part II, Captain America: Civil War and Jurassic World 2 the most, the latter one a couple of years off yet...!

The Martian, from the book of the same name... Although I think it released yesterday? Anyway, will be seeing it next week as I loved the book.

Batman Vs Superman. I'm a complete Bat-Geek and can't wait to see what they've done with the character. Looks like the film will heavily draw influence from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Return graphic novel which is one of my favourite Batman stories.

Suicide Squad, further extension of my love all things Batman, really curious about Jared Leto's take on The Joker.

Star Wars, I'm not a Star Trek fan but really enjoyed JJ Abrams reboot of the franchise with the recent films and think he's the best director out there to handle a new Star Wars movie.

I work in the film industry and get to see alot of these films in post production so I struggle to get excited for some but I can't wait for Star Wars and to see what JJ Abrams does with it.

Disney will take over cinema in the next couple of years, there will be alot of classics made into live action movies as well as that big list of Marvel movies and the reboot of the Star Wars franchise.

I'm also looking forward to seeing The Martian. I thought the book was rubbish but it's a great concept and I think could make a much better film.

Another book adaptation I'm looking forward to is High Rise, based on the JG Ballard novel and directed by Ben Wheatley.

Say waaaaah?!!!

Why didn't you like book? I really enjoyed it, best thing I've read for ages and funnily enough I worry it won't translate well to film because they won't want too much of a guy just talking to himself.

I read quite a few chapters before binning it. It's very well researched so if I ever visit Mars I'll take a copy along for reference, just in case, but I found it to be very badly written and surprisingly dull considering the subject matter. It reminded me of a very long and smug reddit post, "So I was stranded alone on Mars and here's what I did to survive". You'd think that being stranded alone on an alien planet would be an extremely disturbing experience but there was very little tension or drama, just heaps of dry technical detail combined with geeky humour that I just found irritating.

Fair play, I can appreciate that.

You have to remember that in the books universe this wasn't a visit to Mars, this was the 4th or 5th expedition so there was already a lot of knowledge about the planet.

From Watney's perspective it was just a big red planet where he had to stay indoors all the time.

I understand I'm probably in a rather small minority since the book was a huge success, and I'm happy to see an author do well with a self-published book, but I really disliked it.

I think the main reason I'm quite looking forward to the film is that the setting reminds me of a brilliant UK sci-fi film called Moon from a few years ago. Moon shows the psychological impact of spending long periods of time in such an isolated and inhospitable environment, and I'm hoping the film of The Martian will be a bit more like this and less like the book. At the very least they'll have to trim down the overwhelming techno-babble and long-winded accounts of potato growing.

Love Moon.

Sam Rockwell is brilliant in it.

There seems to be a lot of remakes and sequels these days! Looking forward to star wars,

the martial,

guardians of the galaxy 2,

avatar 2,

star trek 3,

planet of the apes 3,

Pacific rim 2.

I'm a little bit of a sci fi geek!

Hoping for something a little mind blowing like interstellar or the signal to pop up though too.

Kurzel's Macbeth with Fassbender. Don't know what to expect - apparently Fassbender has great difficulty with capturing the required nuance, timing and cadence of Macbeth's lines & I've always been a big fan of Polanski's version....however, Aussie director, so it's a must see.

Looking forward to Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker but I don't think anyone will beat Heath Ledger! I'm also looking forward to seeing Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn.

I'm just hoping the moving lives up to expectations and isn't a disappointment.
