The line above (on the offside diagram) isn't correct. It isn't parallel to the penalty box outline. I think he was still marginally offside, but it wasn't as much as shown above.

I actually thought we played well in the second half with a man light, was unlucky not to win this some horrific decisions from the referee and poor marking for Carrolls goal that cost us.

On the bright side Mikel looked decent enough when he came on well better than fabregas anyway.

Whilst Begovic has been an admirable fill in as a number two keeper he just isn' t on the level of Courtois or Cech. The effect on the defence cannot be underestimated, for years we have used the keeper as a sweeper,frequently being the out ball. Begovic just isn' t comfortable with this role. When you add we are down a level in both shot stopping and area dominance it is clear that whilst not being totally down to Admit it has had an effect on the defence on the whole.

A great keeper is worth 10 to 15 pts per season,its little wonder José didn' t want Cech to move to Arsenal. The difference between a great one and a good one is insurmountable.

Er, think you need to look again mate. JT badly skews the clearance and then runs into the middle of nowhere leaving Dave to try and out jump Carroll.

Not that this result was unexpected. West ham are playing very well so far this season . Both goals being of our own making again. Two truly awful clearances and bang, 2 goals.

More so the embarrassment. That his manager and a couch got sent off, that we reacted in such a manner to, an admittedly wrongly, disallowed goal to matic asking for and rightly getting sent off, to losing our heads arguing with the ref and getting more bookings.

Side is a shambles, really is. Cannot say I look forward to Liverpool. Losing to those ar*eh*l*s would be horrible.

Too bad, after a seemingly good build up to this game, we lost our way yet again.

 

It's a total shambles our team with the exception of Willian, who is brilliant.

 

Carelessness with the red card and immediately put us on the back foot. Yes we did play well despite being one short, but it is simply not good enough to have lost.

Genuinely don't think we deserved to lose that at all. Other than the two goals West Ham had Lanzini's chance and other than that were threatening coming forward but not causing us major problems. Don't think we lose that game with 11 men though so stupid from Matic to get sent off. We weren't great that's for sure but after reading the Sky Sports player ratings you'd have though we were beaten 8-0, quite hilarious.

 

Personally think it is now time to drop Fabregas for a couple of games. Not been good for a long while and would love to see Ruben in there with the shackles taken off. Could also easily use Oscar in that deeper role and would offer a lot more pace/defensive stability. Even Willian could do a good job from deep, making passes and runs through the middle.

If I was A ref Cesc is not offside for a simple reason the break and the run started in Chelsea's half , you can't predict an offside while the 4 players began the counter attack 100 yards back , during the run WestHam player decided due an offside call.. I can do that to Usain Bolt and win the Gold in 100 meters for men.

It's perfectly understandable to endure a bit of difficulty whilst trying to retain a title, but to be 15th is an utter, utter disgrace. I don't care whether it's referees, tiredness, player politics- the entire team and the staff need to stand up and actually work hard for the ridiculous amount they're being paid because everything associated with this club is a farce at the moment

We deserved to lose not because of the performance, but because of individual errors from Matic and JT (perhaps an argument can also be made for Jose's tactics).
