A wounded animal is a dangerous animal. In the last few days the press have been a menace with their gossiping and lies.

The press conferences were brilliant today and filled me with optimism. The players will be hurting and will want to put it right. Lets see if the walking can be as powerful as the talking.

Expect high intensity chasing and a different Chelsea from tomorrow night onward.

The climbs back begins tomorrow night.

Amazing press conference. This could be a turning point in our season.

A win tomorrow can do wonders.

We've been wounded all season, and we appear to just be continuing to bleed out.

But sooner or later, you optimists should be proven right...because surely we can't be as bad as this all season......right?

Really admire your optimism Zola, I'd just temp it down a bit as like Jose said there is a multitude of different problems that are causing our poor form and they won't go away overnight (much less under a new manager) so It might be a stretch to expect the old Chels straight away.

Great to see an up beat presser and hear JT putting the press to rights but the form we've started off with means baby steps could be the way to recover and there has (although some people have missed it) been signs of improvement.

For me this isn't a new get behind the manager game for the boys as thats where they've always been, it's just another game where we need to stay focused and hope we have a fair share of the luck, if that happens it could be the turning point but as I've said a few times it might involve a step back here and there to go forward...we just have to be behind Jose and the boys in both of those events.

Edit: Great to see a positive thread :good2:

I can't get too excited over a half decent presser, however I have changed my avatar which I'm sure will make all the difference

KBTBFFH

It WILL work   Yeah, baby!

Hopefully the boys took in Jose and Johns presser and see how much both guys are hurting and putting their necks on the line by protecting the squad.

Time to buckle down and start over. No more feeling sorry for ourselves, only 11 people can change what's being said about us and they have the ability to do so.

Have a look in the Jose and JT threads, they're in there.

I'm really pleased with how the conferences came across, it's nice to see some fight at last. However, I won't be counting my chickens just yet.

Me Neither.

Glad to hear some of the things being said today and there does appear to be some fight there but where was that fight against the dippers on Saturday? 1-0 up early on and we should have had them on the rack and really looked to press home the early advantage but it tuned into yet another toothless display. So disappointing on the back of the Stoke game where I felt really positive. At the moment we just seem so fragile where as soon as there is a set-back during a game the confidence goes and we rollover. The fighting talk is all well and good but we now need to see them back that up on the pitch.

Nice positive press show. but we need more than just fighting talk, we need a side that is full of fighting sprite, (RLC, Kenedy & , Baba, would help with that, certainly not Zouma/Ivanovic at right back) with instructions to be more attack minded with full backs that give us width & attacking midfield, not defencive for 75mins.

Both press conferences are on offical Chelsea site.  http://www.chelseafc.com/

Just something I've noticed and wonder if it's just me. I've never been one to pick injuries to players as why a team is suffering but in the past when we've "beasted" the competition the jokers that are the media always put up stories emphasising how weakened squads as a result of injuries have profited us. Now all I hear is silence even though since the first week of the season we've never had a team of fully fit players. More so a key man like Thibaut missing for a third of the season through injury. And a Pedro who was supposed to come get others to buckle up for their places. Those are the most noticeable but there are others here and there. If Cech is worth 10-15 points to any team surely Courtois is worth 8-12. Assuming my view that Cech is the better(yes in decline, and in a few years they won't be any sound basis for comparison) goalkeeper for the sake of the point I'm trying to convey is taken.

I am getting so tired of " what's after mourinho" threads , and negative media trash threads starting on this forum. Finally a good thread. I really want this to happen. Hope we can get back to winning and show these liars who they are messing with.

Baby steps...Just bumping Zola's superb and optimistic thread hoping it keeps us going in the right direction.

Just bumping this thread to keep the positive energy flowing despite yesterday's defeat.

Still keeping the faith that we'll somehow turn this around.

Some great signs from yesterday, just wasn't our day.

Performance without result is meaningless. We have been saying performance has improved since stoke in the COC yet bar the dynamo win, things are as they were. Its good to be optimistic but let's face reality. As lampard suggested, this isn't a blip, its full time crisis. It must be nipped in the bud right now or else we might actually fight a relegation battle
