I for one would love to see Traore start, because he actually cannot be any worse than Costa has been. Remy also deserves a start, he's scored goals for every team he's played for, including us, and a run of games for him could only be a good thing. Costa needs to hit the treadmill, he looks slow and he's trying to play football, which he's bad at, instead of making runs and finishing chances. Every time he gets the ball outside the area I groan, because he just runs into the corner and gets tackled by two defenders.

Azpillicueta -- Zouma -- Cahill -- Baba
                    Matic -- RLC
        Kenedy -- Willian -- Hazard
                        Traore

This team is our best at the moment. It removes the weak link in defence (JT), the weak link in midfield (Fabregas) and the weak link up top (Costa).

Some of the interplay between Willian and Kenedy has been good. There's actually been some runs behind the defence by Kenedy to run onto through balls. He shows directness and pace which we've lacked. RLC in midfield allows a sprightly powerful player to get at the opposition and sprint relentlessly. This allows Willian to conserve some pace for later on in games.

It also removes Ramires which is the biggest win of all.

Think I would still keep JT in there over Cahill but other than that, it is a side I would like to see.

In fact that is far too sensible a post - what have you done with the real splishsplosh?!!!

It's actually from the same person.

When he's normal, he's splish. When he's posting the usual stuff, he's splosh.

Hence the name 'splishsplosh'.

These c**ting international breaks are really starting to rustle my jimmies

I'd be with you there mate...if watching Chelsea play hadn't become so laborious.

These c**ting international breaks are really starting to rustle my jimmies

It doesn't help when they are so boring to watch. I used to love international football, now it just put's me to sleep.

Well, the next three games we have the Cherries and Norwich at home ... anything but six points in those two, and the collapse would be complete, and I can't see the unit holding together.

White Hart Lane is usually a nice hunting ground for us, but Spurs are purring nicely at the moment, and will cause us all kinds of problems. A draw perhaps, but I can see us losing that one on current form.

Drop Costa for god's sake!

Him and Jose need to keep their heads down and their mouths shut. We're losing this war with the FA, the media, and the world in general. Get over it, and start behaving with a little dignity. This siege mentality is boring the pants off everybody (well, blokes anyway)

England's next 4 fixtures are against, in order:

Spain

France

Germany

Holland

European giants.

I'm excited. It certainly becomes a lot more watchable than the likes of San Marino and Estonia.

Will not be at or watching this game as have previous engagement, if this turns out to be the start of a winning streak no more watching

games for me.

This side apart from Remy & swapping Kenedy with Hazard is from the excelent post 32 of splishsplosh, like a fair few of my fellow

posters cannot believe he could write such prose, without being taken to task.

There is absolutely f**k all exciting about international friendlies. How exciting will it be if hazard or anybody else comes back with a pulled hamstring? Complete waste of time!!

Every international player takes that risk though.

You wouldn't be complaining if the likes of Aguero or Silva came back injured after international duty.

It's part of the game. Playing games against top opposition like the nations above, whilst not competitive, provides a great opportunity for the England players to gel.

same manager

same players

same game plan

same results ?

Norwich at home should be a banked 3 points but the

times they are a changing in SW6

Hope I'm way off the mark, but never seen complete lack of form hit nearly every player that regularly topped Opta stats last season

Has any team collapsed so splendidly in the prem era after being champs ?

until the players figure it out on the pitch we may have to keep suffering, it's torture really to see the lackluster results & all the media take the piss and fans of other clubs gob off about it

I don't expect manager to blood any more prospects

by playing underperforming stars he can justify their sale

in Jan or if he's lucky in the summer ?
