Guus Hiddink - New (old) Chelsea-manager

Featured Replies

guus is a coach whom can bring the best out of his players; top man manager and works out his players' strengths and adapts the team style to them. I, for one, am all for this for interim and bring in pep on a 3 year contract in summer.

Guardiola wants us to buy 10 new players though. I think he needs a stable team with top players before he will take over a team. A very top coach apart from that. I would take him or Unai Emery if we want play good football.

how was people saying 'hes past it' he's not a 32 year old player whos legs are going, managers don't go 'past it', if anything they get better with age.

We are not getting Pep. It’s blatantly obvious he is Manchester bound so putting all our eggs in that basket would be foolish to say the least.

I'd take those guardiola rumours with a pinch of salt. Can't see him coming to us without champions league football, so I think he will end up at whichever Manchester club fail to win the league. If both fail I think he go to city.

If he did end up here, it would probably be the most difficult test of his career. We only have 2 players that are used to playing his type of football, so it would be a massive overhaul.

I also think simeone will stay at atletico where he has recover from losing costa and now they are in a better financial position to compete year on year with the whole of Europe.

I'd have really liked klopp as I think he would have been the best at utilising the talent we have coming through, and would have had us playing some attractive football.

Hopefully hidden does a stellar job and fancies staying fir another couple of years to get us competing at the top again.

believe me, he will be here in the summer. we will buy the appropriate players needed and we will have wembley (a bigger pitch for his tactics) by then and it will all fall into place come summer. man city are arrogant and think they definitely have him because of their board, but i just believe he will be here. he has flirted with us in the past, wants to come to london and roman wants him and will go all out for him until we get him. when roman decides we want someone, he will make sure marina granovskaia gets him at all costs. bookmark this and come back next summer (or before) when he's announced on a 3/4 year contract here.

I'll be happy to wager on it (proceeds to the site of course).

There is no way Pep will be manager.

I agree can't see Pep he likes to go to a team where little work is required. Also to add if people really want a long term option Pep is not the man, he only spent a few years at Barca as manager and a few years now at Bayern. His tactics get old after so long so I think we'd be in the same boat some think we were in with Jose.

I see United getting Pep in all honesty although City will make a big effort to get him but the prestige of United and the funds he will have to play with will probably just edge it.

No idea who we or whoever fails to get Pep will go for next summer though.

I can't see Carlo coming back but he'd be a good fit for City and the best manager bar Jose and Pep available.

If Guus does well then do we think he will be given the chance at full manager? I know last time he couldn't because of other commitments but he doesn't have any this time.

Yeah but I can see Carlo going to Bayern so that leaves who? It's a mystery.

Only problem if Guus stays on he's only gonna stay on for a few seasons then he will most likely retire so we'd be in the same boat in a few years.

If he does do well, then I think it depends on whether he wants to take it on full time when he has been talking about retirement for a long time.

That's a good point.

We really have left ourselves in a bit of a situation here. I mean who else is there? Simeone, he has said he doesn't want to leave Atletico and why would he?

Other than the names spoke about it's just a group of managers who really don't inspire me.

not a betting man, but i don't believe he'll go to city or utd. he's never been linked to city or utd seriously until now because everyone hears he's leaving bayern. he was linked with us before and roman wanted him, but the club was a revolving door before and he didn't want to face the sack after a few bad results. he can't blame roman now because we were in a shocking situation facing relegation zone. with a full pre-season and appropriate signings, i think he'll be lured to london.

Rumours are it's gonna be Brendan Rodgers.

In the Roman era, when have we ever hired a coach who had won nothing? Abramovich is no fool.

I am well and truly in the Diego Simeone camp.

Maybe not full manager but he's hired the likes of Robbie and Avram before albeit short term solutions.

They were both already here. Neither were hired on the pretence

To be first team coach.

If either of them had not already been employed in some capacity by the club at that point in time, then they would never have been the firat team coach.

Rodgers isn't here. And I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Roman only goes for managers who have won something. To be fair, Simone has done a great job but he hasn't really won that much apart from the league. Granted, he's up against Barca and RM so can't be too harsh.

I am probably gonna get sh*t for this but if we can't get someone like a Simeoene, Guardiola, Ancelotti etc we would have to look at more unattractive options and if that were the case I would like us to look at guys like Pulis.

He hasn't been coaching for that long and he has had to work harder for his reward, unlike Pep who won titles with teams that I could managed and done the same.
