Guus Hiddink - New (old) Chelsea-manager

Featured Replies

Weird how there's still no confirmation of Hiddink. Surely he would know what has been going on and is prepared to take it on. He seems to be one of Jose's advisers. It's not like he knows nothing about it and has had a phone call out of the blue.

Surely he's not going to turn us down?

Meh. Hiddink won't say no now. All negotiating tactics to get a bigger payday/ longer contract. He knows he has the leverage.

Everyone knows there is no long contract. It is given that this is a caretaker job. My guess is the delay is on the salary and maybe the bonus.

Could be contingent on how he does and gets extended by a year based on that.

I doubt that - Cos I am sure regardless of how he does (Unless he wins the FA cup and the Champions league with this squad ) I dont see the club giving him a long term contract, Unless the plan is to give a long term contract, let him go at the end of the season.

They will buyout the remainder of the contract  - which then will be about the money.

If Hiddink joins im sure it would have been made very clear that his role is temporary. He did well when he managed the team following Scolari's departure and I hope he comes in for the interim.

Im bitterly disappointed losing Mourinho. I hope the players who didnt believe in him have the minerals to either respect our club and perform or respectfully do one.

I'm hoping we see some tactical changes under Hiddink.

Some of the personal issues I think stem from our very rigid tactics and an unwillingness to move away from that. Hopefully Hiddink is able to inject some life back into the team.

The BBC reporting this morning that Hiddink is stalling on an agreement and wants to know the details on what has happened behind the scenes this season saying the club has 'problems'.

That is smart. Don't rush it. I think Guus will be in London as long as he needs and if nothing major comes up he will make a deal. The man is 69 years old so his biggest concern is not getting a longer or better deal.

My concern is if he doesn't take it what is really brewing behind the curtains.

Hiddink has described the situation at Chelsea as "lousy"

To be honest I am a bit f**ked off he saying this sort of stuff to the media.

He hasn't even accepted the position, he is obviously being told facts so he knows the full picture, but I don't see why he should be commenting like that.

Yes it's honest, but we have been dragged through enough media sh*t the last 6 months without his comments adding to it.

If we sacked Jose without guarantees in place about who is coming in as caretaker, we're even more stupid than I thought.

We ain't stupid! If there is one thing i have learned in the past 2 months, it's the fact that Jose have lost the dressing room. So the longer he stay here the more poor results we will have because some players are not playing for him. If we had sack Jose in October we won't be in 16th by now. But most fans will criticize the decision thinking by December Jose will have made us turned a corner. But here we are today starring at relegation with probably no chance of making the top four. I blame Abramovic for waiting too long to make the decision

If he comes . Even as a temp...BORING choice.........Harry Rednapp......Now him as a temp would have livened everyone up

If we had a few English players perhaps, I don't think Harry has experience of managing a bunch of prima donnas who (on this season's evidence) seem to think they can just turn up to win games

If we sign Simeone, I'll be extremely happy.

Simeone speaks little English? Could be a problem

BBC reported that he'd be open to joining us next year and doesn't think his lack of English would be a problem. No idea what their source is

What's with this Simeone doesn't speak English thing? I doubt whether the majority of our first team speak good English.

Jose could speak several languages and that didn't seem to help him much this season.

If players don't listen, or can't be arsed, then you can be the world's greatest linguist, fat good it will do you.
