Guus Hiddink - New (old) Chelsea-manager

Featured Replies

Maybe not full manager but he's hired the likes of Robbie and Avram before albeit short term solutions.

well, those 2 reached CL final and won 1.. so roman is no fool after all..

Hiddink did really good last time. If he could replicate the performances of last time we could go far in CL.

And hopefully he takes us to the CL-final he should have taken us to last time. If it wasn't for Ovrebo.

Not that i think it will happen but we can hope. We have a good squad and this years performances is ovbiously not a very accurate indication of how good it could really be.

They're still talking, somethings telling me Hiddink wants some assurances and maybe he wants a contract longer than the remainder of the season.

He is 69. How big a contract does he want?

Diego Simeone is #Chelsea's first choice to take over for the 2016-17 season and Roman Abramovich will go all-out to get his man. [Mirror]

#Chelsea will need to bow to Diego Simeone's demands, which will likely entail bringing his tightly-knit team with him. [Mirror]

Diego Simeone is open to joining #Chelsea next season and believes the language barrier would not pose him a major problem. [Mail]

Diego Simeone s keen to listen to what #Chelsea have to say ahead of a possible summer move. [Mail]

Diego Simeone would seek assurances over the club’s transfer policy if he were to accept any offer from #Chelsea this summer. [Mail]

The winner of cup competition isn't always the best one, with that ovrebo fiasco, he's due to some luck.. our 1st CL triumph made up for that moscow part, hopefully this season would make up for that ovrebo incident..

The funniest thing about people wanting Guardiola is they are more than likely the same people who want a long term manager. Yeah, thats Pep alright.....

I don't really see why there is such an obsession with having a manager that will be here more than 3 years. We have been very successful since roman took over, and we have chopped and changed fairly regularly. Barcelona have been very successful in the same period and they have also changed manager every 3/4 seasons.

I'd like to see the back of the ridiculous sackings, like ancelotti's, but i don't mind changing manager every 3 seasons if we remain competitive.

Hiddink may have done well last time around but recall the players he had to work with: Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Ballack, Anelka, Cech, Malouda, Essien, Ashley Cole, Alex.

Now compare with the current squad and tell me that the guy doesn't have his work cut out.

Our lads will be full of energy post Jose. With that much talent it means tough time for our opponents

Believe it when I see it. Tbh I think that would also piss me off cause it just proves they weren't willing to play for us, the fans.

Yeah. I agree. Well they are at work. We are not giving our all to the board either or the boss or the stock holders...but with their salaries they should be a bit more humble.

We've not had a single penalty awarded in the Premier League this season. We're one of 4 teams in that position. Everton, Newcastle and Norwich are the others.

Any chance officials will cut us a bit more slack now Jose has gone? It's possible I suppose if any of our players actually draw a challenge in the box.

as long as he works to the individual players' strengths and weaknesses and gives them added confidence and motivation, we should end up within the top 10 by end of the season; hopefully somewhere between 4th place to 8th place would be ideal. if we can even get into Europe (either CL or Europa) that would be a brilliant achievement considering where we are right now.

Hiddink playing hard to get according to Dutch paper De Telegraaf. He will be in the stands tomorrow but at least publicly he is reserving judgement on whether this is the gig for him or not.

It'll be interesting if he turns Roman down...... we'll be after Brendan Rodgers next

Problem is we're gonna eventually run out of top managers

I was think that myself today...with the slightest hope of landing Pep for next season.....what happens if he fails?.....Roman would have no where to turn as he would have hired and fired the worlds top managers.

Not the hero we need, but the one that some in the club deserve.
