anyone playing half decent is the bloody saviour at the minute

Mikel can always be counted on. I guess that his main strength. In the end always good to have him. Reliable if unremarkable.

That said in the summer we all thought Matic would be able to do the job Mikel is doing, but for some reason this season he keeps getting rushes of blood to the head whether thats doing something stupid or just bursting forward leaving the defense exposed he just isn't doing the same job as last season.

best half of football we've played all season, dare I say better than all of 2015. It's a team game and if you undermine the team spirit then you will fail. Long may the Hiddink reign continue.

Pedro must be the worst transfer this season. He's been pretty dire apart from one-two games. At least the remaining players that were transferred can say they didn't get a chance...

so good to hold on to the lead until HT, as pathetic as it sound, I almost wish they started time wasting after the normal 45 gone :laugh2:

It's terrible condition for football out there, a lead is gold. Defence is solid, JT/Zouma winning all the headers, Mikel doing a good job tidying up and threading in simple passes. I don't see much actual football being played unless the condition changes, which is why the lead is vital.

Mikel is becoming something like Drogba. You think you've replaced him (Shevchenko, Torres, Lukaku, Costa), but in the end you always return to him or wish you still had him.

well looks like hiddink rectified the problem of closing down quicker. i like the way we're playing, if we could have played like this earlier we would be higher up the table.

Good first half from us, we have so much more control in midfield, and i'm not his biggest fan but Mikel is probably the main reason why. Mikel look's less clumsy on the ball than Matic, is passing better than Matic under pressure, isn't taking ages to move the ball on to the next player like Matic does, and most importantly.....he uses both feet. Matic only using 1 foot is a massive weakness of his and it's been showing all season. Mikel needs to keep this up all game and not drift into his casual mode that he tends to do, he just need's to keep playing like this, he look's focused.

Our passing and movement is a lot better today too, we just need people to drive at defenders and get a shot on goal when we get the chance. We have got into the position's enough, we always look to pass rather than have a shot.

I think Pedro has been alright today, he's so rapid though, he could do with slowing down and getting the ball under control a bit before he runs all out at the opposition.

The immediate treatment for any muscle injury consists of the RICE protocol - rest, ice, compression and elevation (never apply ice directly to the skin). As a general rule, grade one Groin Strains should be rested from sporting activity for about 3 weeks, and grade two injuries for about 4 to 6 weeks. In the case of a complete rupture, the muscle may have to be repaired surgically and the rehabilitation afterwards will take at least 3 months.

Crystal Palace fans are annoying, every tackle and foul they shout for a yellow card.

Isn't that what you're supposed to do? You cry bloody murder for every possible decision that could go your way (however tenuous) and sneer at every decision which goes the other team's way, even if it's unquestionably correct.

We've been decent so far. We improved quite significantly after we scored; our attack has been a little disjointed (although that could to some extent be caused by the weather) but we've been pressing and defending very well. Fabregas has been a lot better, Mikel has been excellent, and Costa has been really good off the ball, and far more confident on it (when he's managed to get involved). Willian has been quiet, would like to see more of him.

Good performance so far, hope we can build on it in the second half.

We maybe in front but anyone who thinks we are playing well needs to watch the game more closely ,that first 29 mins was gutless Fabregas and Oscar should not be in the same team . If Willian had a football brain he could be world class but his passing and decision making are terrible.

At least Terry and Zouma are coping with Palace's long ball game
