February 7, 201610 yr Author The picture Surf posted of Zouma looks really bad, like career threatening bad. By that I do not mean he will not play again, but whether he will reach the same level and be able to continue to progress as he has been is a real worry. Get well soon Kurt, you will be missed.
February 7, 201610 yr Made me laugh people behind me jumping all over Oscar saying he's sh*t get off the pitch after he's scored at hatrick the week before, there were other players making mistakes all afternoon and no reaction to that. Still unbeaten but don't think we are in much better position since Jose's gone. He got a hat-trick against lower league opposition, who were set up so open even I'd fancy my chances of scoring against them..his displays against Watford and Utd today are far more reflective of his contribution or lack of it...should sell him to China
February 7, 201610 yr +1 - then I just saw this article tweeted to me - The Great Juan still feels the Blue Love Ahhh Juan. Would have him back here in a heartbeat :(
February 7, 201610 yr Ahhh Juan. Would have him back here in a heartbeat :( there is an argument of Juan Mata vs Oscar - at the time Mata was worth more - don't think CFC can sell Oscar for the same price as Mata
February 7, 201610 yr there is an argument of Juan Mata vs Oscar - at the time Mata was worth more - don't think CFC can sell Oscar for the same price as Mata Yep plus at the time there was the Oscar defensive play/pressing etc etc. I suppose last season justified our decision, but who knows if he'd have brought more penetration in the 2nd half of the season (not even going to start with the car crash of this year). Remarkably though given his relatively short time here, still remains one of my favourite recent CFC players- played football with a smile and capable of magic.
February 8, 201610 yr The picture Surf posted of Zouma looks really bad, like career threatening bad. By that I do not mean he will not play again, but whether he will reach the same level and be able to continue to progress as he has been is a real worry. Get well soon Kurt, you will be missed. It looks terrifying! I too worry about the impact on his career. He's young and will no doubt heal to the level of a normal person, but will it permanently weaken his legs and make him prone to more injuries? Falcao and before him Stuart Holden show how much injuries derail careers. There's also the mental aspect. As a large defender, he has the responsibility of making big tackles and using his whole body as a weapon. Will he become too cautious? Some players recover totally from injury. Others don't. So hoping Kurt is in the former category. Wishing him all the best.
February 8, 201610 yr I agree. There's just no enthusiasm in the support and people seemed to be getting to their seats at a very relaxed pace. People also increasingly getting on the players' backs. Reminds me a lot of Rafa's time here. That's disappointing. The fans don't have an obligation to create a supportive exciting atmosphere, but why attend a game if you're not willing to give your team a home team advantage? Liverpool collapsed yesterday when the fans left. Crystal Palace would be in the Championship if their fans hadn't been so supportive. Same with Stoke in their early Premier League years.
February 8, 201610 yr I hope Zouma's injury isn't too bad. I thought it was a fun and exciting game. A point is better than none given that we did salvage it in injury time. Kudos to Costa for the desire. As usual however, is our lack of spirit during much of the match. We really are crap as a team
February 8, 201610 yr I really worry for Zouma's injury, I hope to absolute God that he'll be alright. This is just the last thing we need right now.
February 8, 201610 yr Lol this thread is absolutely ridiculous. We played well after 25 minutes and we were playing good football it was expansive high tempo and the passing was reasonably slick, and it was probably one of our more exciting performances and I'm sure the game would have been enjoyable for the neutral. Yet reading this thread you would think we played ultra negative cowardly football and were lucky for the draw. Also how is Hiddink cowardly for starting Mikel next to Matic, It was a tactical decision where Matic is playing in a box to box role to match Fellaini going forward and going back. And considering he doesn't want to risk Hazard who isn't yet 100% match fit and the BPL isn't a priority for us as it is all but over. So you either play Matic as the Box to box midfielder or you bring in a recently returning and not really up to scratch Pedro or an inexperienced youngster in RLC who can be found out in a game like this and could dent his progress. I wouldn't call this cowardly . Sensible
February 8, 201610 yr Hopefully it's a PCL not ACL injury like the one Joe picked up in the FA cup a few years back. If it is a PCL or a meniscus injury, that's 2 months recovery so hopefully Kurt will be back this season. In the meantime, Brana can cover for CB and Dave and Baba can play... February 8, 201610 yr Pretty pointless comment. Generally when a manager gets sacked there is always a performance boost in the players, specially in Chelsea's case as Jose had lost the dressing room and the quality of Chelsea and where they was in the table. Unless your Liverpool of course. But I still don't think 2 wins in 8 is great form Please help! How can I block this boy so I won't see any of his comments again? I need a fast reply as I don't want to move to another forum.
February 8, 201610 yr Another fair result today ... as was the Watford draw ... As totally predicted, same as the Watford game, and same as Jose would do ... youth players were not risked from the bench, at all. This game was crying out for Kennedy to come on ... Pedro (underservedly) picked ahead of him was brought on instead and added nothing. All the exciting youth prospects now established in other Teams Countrywide, injecting pace into the team and receiving rave reviews would have zero chance here ... No risk ... same ol ... same ol ... same ol ... Expect a draw at home to Newscastle next week ... Guus has won just a single home game, so far = Sc**thorpe ... Sunderland don't count.

I think you can put people on 'ignore' so you do not see their posts. Look around the preferences, maybe you'll find it. Never used it though!

No risk ... same ol ... same ol ... same ol ... Apart from Leicester City (who doesn't really have any youth players) you have Tottenham parading Alli, Kane, Dier and to a lesser extent Onomah and Bentaleb, Arsenal with Bellerin, Chambers with sightings of Iwobi, Manchester City with Iheanacho, Manchester United with Shaw, Pereira, Depay, McNair, Martial, Lingard and now Januzaj all used to a various extent... Meanwhile we can't even give our only left back bought for 20+ mln a decent run of games and the only youth player in the fold is Zouma.
February 8, 201610 yr Just watched the game back again and realised we actually played better than I thought, especially after Zouma injury and going behind...why it took adversity for us to play with intent is a bit frustrating, but definitely deserved a point in the end...Fabregas' was quality for the goal, started the move with long pass, then joined up with play in edge of area to play Costa in...think he's wasted in no.10 position...when he's deeper he dictates the play far better and spots the runs too
February 8, 201610 yr Manchester United with Shaw, Pereira, Depay, McNair, Martial, Lingard and now Januzaj all used to a various extent... Lol what? With that logic we can count Hazard and Oscar and Mikel. Edited February 8, 201610 yr by Stim
February 8, 201610 yr By the way, how classy were we when we clapped Mata off...what a contrast to the losers in north London and how they treat a player they rejected to re-sign, yet bizarrely blame him for doing so
February 8, 201610 yr To me it looks as though very little has changed on the pitch. OK so Guus is unbeaten, but look at (Arsenal away apart) the quality of the opposition. I think its 6 draws now and against the likes of Watford twice, United twice, West Brom, Everton (4 home games) it is just not good enough. We have won 5 games in that time, Sunderland, Palace, Sc**thorpe Arsenal and MK Dons. REmove Arsenal from that list and it looks piss bloody poor. Yes, We have stopped losing, and I probably would have settled for mid table obscurity but safety in the dark old days of November, but that is obviously because of the small improvement that Guus has injected by winning back the dressing room. Overall though the players are still not performing, with or without JT on the pitch the Quality is missing. I just pray that as soon as we are technically safe (42 points +) Guus banishes the non-performers to the Ressies and gives as many young players a chance as possible
February 8, 201610 yr I wish some of our so called whining supporters would go ''support'' someone else ffs.
February 8, 201610 yr 49 years of supporting Chelsea Home, Away, in Europe and through thick and (a lot of) thin, entitles me to "whinge" when I do not like what I am watching !!

February 8, 201610 yr Having watched the game again, I have come to one obvious conclusion. Martin Tyler is an absolute biased c**t
February 8, 201610 yr All it proves, as I suspected all along, is that Jose was only part of the problem We're simply not that good as time has proven. Yes, Jose made some mistakes in the final months of his managerial tenure but the players deserve more criticism than they've received from supporters for a lack of effort and passion in their performances. Guus' objective was to get the team firing again when realistically he was merely installed to steady the ship and to calm things down after a hectic few months. I like Guus and he's in a difficult position but he can only do so much with these players where the majority of them are pea-hearts and are spoilt brats who aren't willing to put in the hard yards to better themselves as players. Results have improved slightly meaning we're not losing as much now but the performances are not that much different from what I saw under Jose this season. Sacking Jose was merely a panic move by the club who genuinely believed that the club was deteriorating at a rapid rate, but still held out a glimmer of hope of finishing in the top 4 when in reality this was delusional back in December. We would have honestly been better off to finish 10th or 13th, or where ever we finish at the end of the season and stuck with Jose and provided him the financial backing to buy the right players to overhaul the squad during the summer thus cementing ourselves as a stable force and dictating to the players that the manager was truly the boss but we failed on these fronts. Now we're back to square one where the board needs to find a new manager (good luck to the next guy who will be working under the extreme conditions that the club places on a manager), and I can see a large squad overhaul in the summer. I can't blame supporters for being somewhat hostile in the stands considering what's transpired behind the scenes with the club recently and considering they pay money to support the club they have every right to voice their anger and concerns about what the club is doing behind the scenes.
