Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

Conte is a master tactician alright - he is playing against the Chelsea board and is daring them to sack them and doing so in such a way that we cant fully blame his formation, yet  not doing enough to help Chelsea win. He wants to take over the Italian national team and he wants to be fired so he can get his payoff. The biggest frustration for me is the fact that he is driving Hazard out of the club. I feel like Hazard might stay with Chelsea if we show ambition that we want to be one of the top clubs in the world, but the way he is misusing Hazard, piss poor substitutions and lack of substitutions we are pretty much making him run away.

Strange isn't it, in the last couple of months many strange substitutions and most of us gave him the benefit of the doubt yet today it has finally sunk in, he is daring the board to sack him.

Today's subs were truly outrageous, it really looks like he's stepping it up to get out. You'd think he would try to win these big games against City United and Barca to boost his CV at least.

There is no way he is this incompetent tactically, he is doing ALL the wrong things including sticking to a losing formula and pissing off our best players by subbing them off.

Late subs, senseless subs and defending to the 80th minute despite losing.

I've backed him before and said he's not trying to get sacked but I can't see it another way, if we can get Carlo in now I'd sack him immediately.

The thing is, he is not that incompetent. Against Barca ha was lively, enthusiastic - and the team performed good, pressed high etc'. This time, we did absolutely nothing. Yes, City did not get ton of good chances, but it was an abysmal performance.

I wasn't an advocate of him leaving, but given the last games, it is inevitable. Conte's problem is that he didn't move on. Ok, you have some average players and you didn't got the players you wanted, but you have to move on. He didn't. It is unfortunate, I thought he could take us high.

I won't be holding back my criticism of him today, i don't think he deserves it after setting the team up like that.

I understand Conte's frustration with our poor attempts at improving the squad in 2 transfer windows, all of us fans have said how frustrated we are, but i refuse to believe that he suddenly doesn't have a squad capable of putting up a fight against the top teams. Him constantly going on about it and basically saying the players he does have aren't good enough does nothing good for the team. Keep it to yourself or have talks with the board, don't make it public knowledge. It must make the players feel like absolute sh*t when your own manager is saying you're not good enough every single week. He's the manager, the main coach, he's supposed to inspire confidence in them, not constantly point out how poor they are. He's doing the complete opposite of what a manager should do.

I won't be asking for him to be sacked, but if he doesn't sort himself out, then it will be just as much his fault as it is the boards.

I really thought we'd found the new "SPecial One" last season. That's why it hurts so much. He's out for himself. The fans sing his name every week and he doesn't give a sh*t about them or where the club finishes, as long as he makes it clear to everyone that it's not his fault, it's the board.

And as long as he makes his f**king money. Pathetic

Abramovich is also embarrassing and part of the problem. Keeps hiring these "pragmatic" (insert cowardy) managers. He deserves a lot of the blame. You need eggs to make omelettes. CONTE OUT.

Hang on to be fair when we have tried to employ more attack minded managers like Scolari and AVB they were useless especially Scolari. The bloke couldn't even pronounce Chelsea properly.

Those two were bad managers for differing reasons regardless of brand of football. AVB wasn't ready and Scolari had never even coached a club team in Europe before. Neither reflect well on Abramovich and actually prove my point.

Right now we need either one of Tuchel, Jardim or Sarri to make us a FOOTBALL playing side if the board can't compete with the Manchester clubs financially. If it was up to me Conte will be sacked tonight. That was diabolical and unacceptable. We're not Stoke City. He humiliated the clubs, the fans and his players.

AVB attack minded lol.

Setting us up like we're league one fodder then moans like a bitch that he doesn't have enough to spend. He must be scared of something. Conte OUT.  Get a manager that isn't high maintanance and can actually coach attacking football and (actually) bring in talented youth like Hudson Odoi. Not some bullsh*t 5 mins here there.

Same sh*t, different day. Boring, negative performance and Conte is to blame. What the hell is he thinking playing without a forward again? Parking the bus is for bloody relegation fodder not Chelsea (the current Champions might I add!).

I'm fed up of this guy now, always moaning about transfers/Chelsea board, just kick him out and get somebody in even temporarily who at least loves our club before we get booted from the Champions league and miss out on the top four.

Unfortunately, its impossible to fire him without payout. Give him his 20 mil, thank him for his service and let him walk.

Bring one of the reserve coaches as caretaker until the situation can be sorted.

Really sad it has to end this way, I thought Conte would be a great manager for us, but clearly he has some issues as displayed in Juve and now here.

The board can't be happy after seeing that sh*t, no shots on target and playing like a bottom of the league team, treating Hazard like sh*t and the board brought him a new forward in January, Giroud must be thinking what have I joined here, I've taken over the Batman role.

How can you watch that first half and not change things, that's embarrassing. Then let it go on till the 78min till you make a sub.

Ironic that he says the club has no ambition, and he is a top coach with lots of ambition, so why does he set us up today vs city with no ambition to win?

He didn't even do it when we went 1 down 40 seconds after the restart, which basically compels him to attack. Striker comes on half an hour later

Those managers are basically Conte-light, pragmatic in thought and approach even if they have differing styles. Actually Sarri is just another Ancelotti, I don't think he has much of back bone -- would allow the board to walk all over him and then sack him. Need to find a balance between these extremes.

£20m is that how much his compensation is? No wonder he has been daring the club to sack him for months. Surely it’s high time something was done about that.

it's crazy money when you think about it. he must think he's won the euromillions. i wish i could get paid 20 million to shout at the players from the touchline and never adapt or try new tactics, or even try to make the players better by, it sounds crazy but, coaching them!
