People need to read the above quotes from yesterday's presser. Those hoping we keep Conte on need a reality check IMO.

 

He's doing what he's done all season, moaning about transfers, and boasting about his ability. How does this help the squad? It doesn't. It plainly hasn't helped motivate the players and yet Conte still keeps doing it. You have to ask why. Clearly it's to let himself off the hook and promote himself. What other purpose could there be behind the quotes? We've heard his complaints a thousand times. How do they help the squad going into the match tomorrow, going into the game against Barca. His quotes don't help at all, quite the opposite. He's showing his true colours IMO. He doesn't care about his players and he doesn't care about the club. He only cares about himself and how he looks to the public.

 

Shame on you Antonio.

 

He goes to great lengths to explain why we're way behind City, but he doesn't explain why we're behind Liverpool and Tottenham, two clubs whose managers have been given far less funds than him. Explain that one away Antonio. Explain why we've lost to so many sh*t sides this season, explain why we keep losing to Arsenal, explain why we blew a two goal lead to Roma which ended up proving costly, explain why we only beat Norwich after a replay and penalties. Are the board responsible for all this?

You're right Nibs. I'm fuming with him however. Thought he was the nuts last season but this season his behaviour has been very damaging to the club IMO, and on the wages he's on, I find it inexcusable. Tell you what is starting to annoy me a little, how he is discrediting Chelsea every two minutes, and praising everyone else. The mans head most be all over the place. He needs to leave Chelsea for the sake of his physical and mental health. I know he's passionate and intense, but right now he looks shot.

What folk forget are the expectation levels at Chelsea. People talk of Klopp and Poch getting on with it or coaches in Foreign leagues but at Chelsea the pressure to win something EVERY season is huge.

Doesn't matter what coach comes in, if he isn't given the proper tools to do the job what's he supposed to do when our Board still expect success every season?

Anyone seriously had enough of Conte right now, sorry but it's gonna be a case of that old cliche .... Be Careful What You wish For.

After the way we’ve conducted our transfer business (again) this season I think any manager worth his salt would be frustrated at the club. 

The frustrating trend to fail to capitalise on a league title continues.

I wouldn't blame him for being frustrated, but it's his job to isolate the players from it,  get on with the job he's well paid to do and stop telling everyone about his problems,  all the f**king time.  By all means air those views during board meetings etc,  but telling your squad they're poor,  tired,  not the players he wanted is unbelievably stupid and unnecessary. 

I want him stay by the way, Just not with his current attitude.

Surprised no-one has taken him aside to be honest, either one of the Board members, or even one of his training team members who have been around for some time like Carlo Cudicini; just to tell him to shut up dissing the  club / Board / etc and just to get on with the job at least until the end of the season.  The transfer window shut a month ago, so he can groan and moan all he wants, nothing will change until the summer in terms of his squad....the only change possible is him being fired with a big payout.    

On the other hand I totally get where he is coming from in terms of his passion and where he wanted to take this club, where it should be among the elite in Europe and how he wanted to do it, but perhaps the Board is sceptical after all the freedom and advice they took from his predecessors which saw world class players taking a walk out the door together with millions being wasted on star named players that did not produce while they were here. Unfortunately he's the one that got short end of the stick.

I have also wondered the same, or maybe the board are giving him enough rope.

I just want him to stop being so bloody stubborn, once he gets something in his head then that's it. First 352, Baka, Cahill, struggles to change a game or makes subs too late.

In fairness, that's true of everyone who has won the league recently:

2013-14: Man Utd - (Moyes came in and signed Fellaini and no one else until the winter): came 7th;

2014-15: Man City - (signed some just about squad-level players - Sagna, Fernando, Mangala): scraped 2nd;

2015-16: Chelsea - (sold Luis, Drogba and Cech - signed Pedro, Begovic, Djilobodji and Rahman): came 10th;

2016-17: Leicester - (sold the best player in the league and replaced him at a loss with some absolute dreck): came 12th;

2017-18: Chelsea - (sold two key players in Costa and Matic and replaced them with Bakayoko and Morata who have, ahem, thus far failed to convince): currently 5th.

 

On the bright side... it gives me some hope for next season! Maybe Man City will replace De Bruyne and Aguero with Jordan Henderson and Danny Ings.

False 9 again. He must really want that sacking payout.

It might get us a point.

Thing is, maybe it’s about time we had a manager who wanted the rest of the clubs set up to be held accountable for their failings?

It’s not fun to hear it as a fan but then again, isn’t it what many of us have said throughout the season?

Why aren’t we signing a particular calibre of player? Instead on signing Kyle Walker why did we get Zappacosta? Instead of Sandro why Emerson? Etc. Etc. 

If Conte does stay, maybe, just maybe the club will meet him in the middle and look to address some of the back room failings of recent years?

Time to sack him. This is probably the most uninspired Chelsea-performance i have ever seen. Absolutey toyed with by City and the tactics have been horrendous.
He is also killing Hazard at the moment and we are damn near screwed in the race for top 4.

We aren't going anywhere in CL with Conte either so give it to someone that will inject some new energy, positivity and pull everyone together for a CL-run.

So it pissed the league only a year ago and now it is nowhere near good enough? I concede Costa has been a massive loss though.
