4 years of failure though Roy. What progress?

I don't know. We have the same basic problem in tournament after tournament and, whilst I know what's at fault, I don't understand why it happens.

I just don't get it. We had a formation, we had a style of football, we had everything set in place to have a decent tournament. Why ditch all of that for out of form players, why ditch that for one player who's legs have all but gone ? It's just unbelievable how we do this in every single damn tournament, it's unbelievable that we never frigging learn.

 

People were calling it before the tournament started, i was one of them. We shoehorned Rooney in, nobody can deny it. He was bought in because he is Rooney, simple as that. Hodgson and the team ditched everything we had just to shoehorn that one player in. 

 

Absolutely pathetic and i am fed up with it.

What future can you see with this England side, even under a new manager? I can't ever see this team being either fast enough or clinical enough to be anything other than mediocre.

 

Maybe in the next 18 months we'll find a new midfielder who can move the ball fast and accurately or a playmaker who can dance around the players that mark them in a defensive setup.

"Fast" is av important point. For about 15 years we've been slow as **** in basic things like passing. It's the old "trap the ball, pause, look around, pass" which kills our attacks.

Does make you wonder if so many of these players look better for their club because they're with people they can pass to who won't clam up when they have to beat 1-2 men in order to create a chance or are with players who can deliver balls to them quickly whilst they're still in space.

 

That said, when tactics are bad, players are scared and they have no ideas, that encourages hesitant play too and it's a sign of bad management

The FA want someone who'll toe the line. Capello was sacked because he wouldn't go with the FA and drop Terry (England would then be knocked out because Uruguay didn't do the same and Suarez scored a vital goal).
