I've got something that will cheer you up Bobby, It turns out he isn't retiring and intends to continue playing as this was all a big mix up. :laugh2:

An irregular heartbeat sounds scary for someone his age and not something compatible with professional sports.

A guy from my school collapsed and died during military training from a heartbeat problem. I think he was only 18 or 19. From what I heard, it wasn't detected earlier because it comes and goes, so in order to detect it you need to happen to be doing heart monitoring while there's an episode. If the episodes are infrequent, the chances of detecting it are low. That's what I heard at least.

Lucas Silva denies that he's retired. I hope health wise, everything is okay and he make an informed and sensible decision about his playing future in due course.

I am looking forward to see how ruben loftus develops under conte tbh. i would like to see kasey palmer integrated into the first team too. we would certainly save a ton of money than paying out for pogba.

Palmer's been linked to a loan move to Huddersfield, so it's likely he won't be playing for us this season.

So Sunderland has given permission to the FA to speak to Sam about the England job.

Sunderland have given the Football Association (FA) permission to speak to their manager Sam Allardyce about the position of England boss.

But the Premier League club say they want Allardyce to stay, insisting he is "very much key to our plans".

Sunderland claim speculation about Allardyce has been "extremely damaging" and have urged the FA to "bring about a swift resolution to the matter".

England are searching for a new boss after Roy Hodgson quit on 28 June.

He resigned after the national team were knocked out of Euro 2016 at the last-16 stage by Iceland.

Photographs that appeared to show Allardyce, 61, at the home of FA vice-chairman David Gill were published in the media in the past 24 hours.

Allardyce had been on tour with Sunderland in Austria until he returned home at the start of the week, reportedly on transfer business.

Sunderland said they agreed to let Allardyce speak with the FA as a "potential candidate" after he requested permission, but are upset discussions did not remain confidential.

"After what was an extremely challenging season, we are keen to see a period of stability, both on and off the field, and we want him to remain as manager of our football club," read a club statement issued on Wednesday.

Allardyce is not the only Premier League manager linked with England.

Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, Bournemouth's Eddie Howe and Hull City's Steve Bruce have all been touted as possible candidates.

So have United States boss Jurgen Klinsmann and former England manager Glenn Hoddle, but Allardyce now appears to be the frontrunner.

The former West Ham, Newcastle, Bolton and Blackburn boss won a lot of plaudits for keeping Sunderland in the Premier League last season.

England begin their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign on 4 September, when they face Slovakia in Trnava.

The two sides met at Euro 2016, battling out a goalless draw in Group B.

Talksport are reportedly giving Collymore the boot.

I'm surprised by that to be honest. I don't like the guy, but he has helped TalkSport get to where they are today with their commentary and he has a pretty big following. Some of the stuff he says i think is complete rubbish but he does make some good points about things in the game, he also shows a lot of passion for the sport too.

And now Colin Murray has just announced he is leaving too, saying he can't work with the Sun. TalkSport is a bit chaotic right now then.

Still early days obviously, but has anyone heard anything about who the new Sunderland manager might be?

A lot of people on the Sunderland forum are saying Moyes. That's only their preference, not based on anything from the club.

They're having a major meltdown which I can understand after finally getting someone who had the potential to stop the relegation panic every year.

They're really bitter and angry at Allardyce to a degree that seems kind of unfair to me.

It is unfair especially as Allardayce's age where this is really his last chance to be England manager. Not only that but he saved them from relegation last season too.

They will probably get someone like a Moyes and be fine anyway.

Murdoch recently bought TalkSport, and Collymore had previously had personal battles with The Sun. He also said that The Sun should be shut down in light of the final conclusions from the Hillsborough inquest.

This could cause much hilarity, now the likes of quinn, Houghton and that scouse gobsh*tes newspaper editor will also have to quit or be seen to be nonsense Liverpool or some such sh*te.

To be fair, I've always liked Collymore. He's good to listen to and makes a lot sense. Always calls it as it is rather than just coming out with middle of the road stuff.

Goldstein and Cundy is the best show on there. So funny.

He talks sense about football at times but he is a massive prick. He labelled all Chelsea fans racist after the Paris train incident and then bought Rangers fans into it as well. There is no going back from that, the guy was lucky he didn't get fired then. He even wanted to bring all of this up on BT Sport but they seen sense and cancelled their plans to have him on as a pundit.

Mehdi Benatia is having a medical at Juventus as well.

This could be their defensive strength in depth next season:

Chiellini

Barzagli

Bonucci

Benatia

Rugani

-

Evra

Alex Sandro

-

Lichtsteiner

Dani Alves

Jesus Christ!

They must be struggling to keep all 5 centre backs happy. Wouldnt mind any of them here tbh, even rugani looks like a great prospect.

Very glad Collymore has gone the self absorbed c**t.

Now time to rewatch my favourite ever Collymore moment:

I shouldn't ever laugh at jokes regarding domestic violence, but holy sh*t the balls on that dude
