Next season I want to see Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Utd in the champions league. I feel they have the team and the managers to make the premier league proud again. Don't ever wanna see Spurs in that competition ever again.

Utd? You feeling alright?

They haven't won naff all yet, they could still end up with no trophies and no CL next season, and i for one would not be shocked.

That would be like Christmas come again. It would be too good, they'll pick up one of the 3 trophies but CL will be hard for them to stick

Christmas and birthdays rolled into one.

Arsene Wenger is past it as a manager. He's never ever going to win a major trophy again. Barcelona will be looking at upcoming managers with fresh ideas not some 67yr old dinosaur.

I really do love how you know all these things, can I borrow your crystal ball?

End of the day any manager goes stake at obe club eventually. I honestly reckon if he went to Barca he'd do a decent job.

I think he would struggle to finish 4th...

;)

Our CL form since winning it has been poor. One semi final. Other than that, we got knocked out at the round of 16 twice, failed to get past the group stage once, and didn't finish high enough to compete last season.

That being said, I'd rather miss out on multiple occasions after winning it, than competing year in, year out and not even getting a sniff at the quarter final stage.

You're having a laugh...you pick out some of the weakest squad players and conveniently forget that many of the players who won the Europa league had won the champions league and fa cup the year before. FSW took over when we were in second and nearly made a right hash of getting. Atop four place, also lost league cup semi to Swansea, world club cup to Corinthians and fa cup to Man City...and tried to bomb out JT when he was still in his prime...

As for Utd, they've been sixth all season..hardly beaten anyone of note, drawn a lot of games in this hyped 'unbeaten run' made hard work of beating an average French team tonight

Can you quote me in future please? I would have responded this morning had i had a notification.

The weakest squad players were basically our only squad players, we had Terry as cover in defense who looked past it that season, Mikel in midfield, Moses and Marin wing, no one as cover for one of the worst strikers weve ever had for half a season (yes i do believe Torres was THAT bad). Not only did we have little depth, our first Xl was unbalanced and lacked the required quality. Hazard was great but young ditto Azpi, Mata great but limited and Luiz was great but erratic the rest? Either past it or never was (or appeared to be past it ala JT ).

As for the Rafa league and cup thing I've had this debate more times than I can count with Chelsea fans over the years. The same old arguments come up every time. The '3 points behind United' one I've addressed over and over again. Anyone who thinks Benitez, RDM or any other manager were going to catch United that season either don't know their facts or they're biased as hell. United dropped only 16 points from the moment Benitez took over (3 of them against Benitez's Chelsea incidentally). So the league was never going to be won. Redundant argument .Losing the Carling Cup and World Club Championships always gets thrown at him. Fair point I guess were it not for the fact RDM got knocked out of the Champions League and lost the Super Cup in one of the most one sided games of football I've ever seen involving Chelsea against Atletico, lost the Charity Shield aswell. So yeah Benitez wasn't great in that respect, but neither was the man he replaced (in his full time stint) by any stretch.

Then all the idiotic conspiracies at the time that Benitez was prioritizing the cup competitions to involve his CV, which was just deluded. Everyone waning that we were playing terrible football, etc... from the moment Benitez took over we were basically playing 5 games every 2 weeks with an incredibly raw squad of players. The fact he hit the league objective, won a trophy and got to the semis in another reflected a good return given the perimeters in place no matter what way its spun. Who cares how good the football was?

Much like Conte is the ideal manager for us given our current set of challenges, i.e. re-establishment, after what he did for Juventus. Benitez was the ideal manager for us in those circumstances (Roman's not an idiot he knows what the fans feel about him yet still felt he needed to appoint him), with a lot of emphasis on staying compact and utilization of the entire squad to deal with fixture congestion. He was the right man, some fans can either choose to accept it or continue b!tching about insignificant rubbish, like him wearing a red tie against Fulham.

As for he EL, CL and FA Cup, we won them as despite our limitations we still had great character in the squad (and a god in the sky for CL games) and the managers did a good job at that time.

Trophy numbers

So that makes our 11/12 squad better than our 05/06 and 07/08 teams? Sorry but not having that.

It's debatable which players are the best, but its not about comparing individual players, its a team sport, you have to stand back and look at the bigger picture, how do the players fit in together. It's not a game of Top Trump cards.

We had a decent mental strength but we were quite a disjointed team, between the double and Joses title season we had very few top team performances.

You immediately lose any argument when you dismiss actual fact (ironically) as redundant. Fsw Ballsed that season right up, took us backwards in the league neatly missing out on top 4, Ballsed up the cups, especially bad against Swansea with his sh*thouse tactics. His tactics were embarrassing, he had no idea how to change a game other than to swap left backs at 70 minutes. He brought nothing to our club other than animosity and arrogance. Good f**king riddance.

Tottenham Hotspur will win the Premier League within the next four years, says former manager Harry Redknapp.

Spurs made the Champions League for the first time during Redknapp's four-year tenure at the club, reaching the quarter-finals in 2011.

The 69-year-old says he would not swap manager Mauricio Pochettino's starting XI for any other side in the division.

"They have been fantastic under Pochettino," Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live's Friday Football Social.

"I have absolutely loved the way they have played - their football, the pace of the full-backs.

"Tottenham will go on and win the Premier League in the next three or four years."

would love to laugh at him but i keep thinking how right he was with his frank lampard prediction

I'm actually a huge fan of Benitez. Won us a European trophy and a champions league spot despite intense hatred from the very people who should've supported him. Did it all with grace too.

To be honest apart from Jose's two years we haven't really had stable management since winning it.

I find it extraordinary that this man now gets to choose when he can leave. Is there any club in the world where a manager has this much power? Amazing.

It's unbelieveable what the ref is alowing motherf**ker Barton to do without any punishment

Don't expect anything less from the so called hard man and self proclaimed genius that is Joey Barton

Saw you guys comparing our side with yours from a couple of years back...

I see you mention Rooney over and over again like he's some big name to lean on. I respect what he has done for our club and I'm not saying it's his fault that Mourinho tells him to warm up and play. But most of us gets annoyed when we see him warming up. Especially when we're hunting a winner... he looses posession, his first touch is atrocious, no pace left... and don't get me started on winning the ball back. He used to become furious and chase back to our own corner flag, but that's a thing of the past.

Carrick might not be what he was, but percentage wise, he might have lost 5% while Rooney have lost 50%
