To be fair to Ozil I feel sorry for him - this level of competition is a step up too far for the likes of Coquelin, Ox, Iwobi, Gibbs

He's supposed to be their star player after Sanchez, but every game when he is needed, he doesn't turn up. He jogs around the pitch with little effort. I don't expect players to run around like headless chickens, but when you desperately need a goal or to take pressure off your team, you need to show much more effort than he shows. He's similar player to Fabregas, but he lacks the heart, determination and effort that Fabregas has.

I'm glad I finished reading that last sentence before I replied to this or we'd be strongly disagreeing which I don't think happens all that often. However fortunately I did & I agree, he's a poor mans Fab:biggrin:

I just don't think it helps that his teammates are sh*te - at this level there's only so much Sanchez/Ozil can do

I'm feeling so bad for Ospina right now. When people look at the score without watching the game, the first word that will come to their mind is "goalkeeper".

Bayern had a good training game today, poor Ospina had to get waves of counter attacks and shoots. Arsenal were very poor.

Definitely didn't deserve a score line like that with the saves he pulled off (and he didn't stand a chance for the goals). Let down by his team and manager.

As always with Arsenal, the big sides find it too easy to figure out Wenger so they struggle against any side they can't simply get by on the quality of players. Arsenal actually looked threatening towards the end of the first half but Ancelotti was able to fix things whereas Wenger didn't seem to have a clue what to do.

Be Interesting game. We hear a lot about how spanish teams compare to english teams. Be nice to see Leicester put up a game of it

Saw this from one of the Opta accounts on Twitter

200 - Arsenal are the first English team with 200 conceded Champions League goals. Explorers.

Arsene Wenger, we want you to stay!:laugh2:

I can't see Leicester parking the bus without giving away penalties and free kicks under European officiating.

You're right, there is only so much they can do, but i don't think Ozil is ever at the point where you can say he's done all he can to help his team.

Normal service is back, Arsenal took a beating from the out of form Bayern. I reckon Arsenal will win the return leg 2:0, and Wenger will say we aren't that far away from beating an European heavy weight, just need a bit of luck and maturity.

I can't wait to watch AFTV, the troopz ( idiot) will go I told you Broz again!

I must admit Claude has grown on me. Quite like the bloke. Troopz will be in meltdown, and probably on the verge of busting a cap in his mom's ass.

Were most of the Arsenal players exchanging telephone numbers with the Bayern players at the end of the game....all probably wanting to get out.  Never seen a team capitulate so easy as Arsenal..total embarrassment for the Premier League..not sure why they bother, star players (didn't see any last night thought) all played like they wanted out....can't see Sanchez hanging around next season unless Wegner leaves.

Some Arsenal fans on their forum actually think he had a decent game tonight :laugh2:

I bet those fans would be like this during a fire too

I have a mate who supports Arsenal has always maintained they should keep Wenger, he has completely turned on him this season. I just said want if you get rid of him and your team is worse? He says he doesn't care he just is bored of the same sh*t. I think that's it isn't it? They have stood still for so many years it's just become boring for them.

Ozil is an absolute disgrace, put in barely any effort at all, just wandering of every time he lost the ball. If he was a Chelsea player I would have wanted the lazy f**ker sold ages ago.

We get criticised for our ruthless treatment of managers and some of that has been justified...but the message has been sent loud and clear...failure won't be tolerated...it is the complete opposite at Emirates Stadium and they have reaped what they sowed by letting Wenger get away with mediocrity for over a decade

TalkSport is quite funny tonight. They keep asking these Arsenal fans why players choose Chelsea over Arsenal, and after a moments silence, the Arsenal fans will say it's because of the money. Then when they are asked if both clubs offered the same amount of money, who would they choose.....the Arsenal fans go silent again. Arsenal fans cannot openly admit that we offer players better chances to win things than their club does.

Let's not forget that Barcelona lost by 4 goals yesterday too.

The difference is that I can see Barcelona coming back and winning 5-0 on the second leg. It's improbable, but I can theoretically see it happening.

With Arsenal it's not even a remote possibility in my mind because they lack the mentality, and Wenger is bad in high pressure situations.

The Arsenal board approach it completely as a business. From that perspective, they are very well run, and many clubs would do well to learn from that.

As long as they get Champions League money, the board is satisfied with Wenger. Unfortunately for Wenger's legacy, his final season will be his worst because as soon as he fails to make Champions League - it's bound to happen one of these years - the board will be ruthless.

I don't think Wenger will retire on his own accord. I know a few people like that who are so scared of retiring. It's not about the money. It's about losing their identity. The board needs to offer him a symbolic position (advisor to the board or something) to get him over that psychological obstacle.

It's not even Arsenal vs Bayern, it's Sanchez vs Bayern. The rest of Arsenal may as well have not have even turned up.

Ozil is a fraud, one of the biggest bottlers i have ever seen. Every big game, he disappears. He has one pace to his game no matter what the situation is.

He's not a bottler, he's just lazy.

Did you see the goal where Ozil stood completely still? I don't mean slow or sluggish but completely still.
