This is genuinely the example I thought of in my head.

Matic wasn't anywhere near as high with the push and Barnes tackle was potentially leg breaking as opposed to just pulling his jersey back.

Consistency shouldn't be too much to ask.

You don't suppose Martin Atkinson had been influenced by the media do you? We all know what had happened earlier that week...

When does it get to the point where we say this Man City squad is passed it's peak though ? It's not just this season where they have been poor. They finished 4th last season and they were nowhere near us the season when we won the title. Their last good season was when they beat Liverpool to the title and even then they weren't anything special.

At the moment, i can't think of many City players that would get into that Tottenham first team. Man for man, Tottenham look stronger. Goalkeeper, LB, CB, CB, RB, DM, CM, ACM ? I think Tottenham have better players in these positions. It's only on the wing and upfront where it's hard to choose. On current form, i would pick Kane ahead of Aguero.

My bad, I edited my post to reflect I meant I think City are still the better team offensively. I thought they were unplayable against us at their place, we just rode our luck and took our chances on the counter. If they repeat that performance I think Spurs will find it difficult to live with them.

Tottenham are playing at pretty much their peak ATM whereas City aren't playing anywhere near it, that's the difference.

I do think that Tottenham's defence is on paper better than City's, although on paper I would take City's midfield/attack.

On paper means nothing though, the fact is that for the last few season's, City have been more of a top 4 side than title challenging side. Some of their players just don't have what it takes anymore. They have the odd good game here and there, but for the majority of the season they don't show up. Kolorov, Clichy, Sagna, Zabaleta, Toure, Silva, Kompany...these players just don't have it anymore, not for a full season at least. Then you look at their replacements and they just aren't at the same level these players were at at their peak.

With Spurs, like ourselves, not having to worry about European football any more this season, I definitely see them as our biggest threat. With the exception of the scousers away in February they've got a run of matches that should see them pick up maximum points. We definitely can't afford any slip ups especially with Liverpool, Arsenal and United all still to come. However ,saying that, I fancy us to get something at Anfield & Old Trafford, so Arsenal at home could be our toughest game of the 3

Tottenham still have Europa League football though. Even if they don't field their strongest team in those games, it's still an extra game.

I a little surprised that no one in the media is commenting on the fact that Liverpool, that awesome attacking side, have not scored a goal from open play for 300 minutes. Of course losing Coutinho, Henderson and Mane affected them but with 2 of those 3 on the pitch today they still were not creating many chances.

Long may it continue - come on Plymouth Argyle!

Sure we've had some dodgy decisions in our favor lately, no question about it... I guess we're even soon considering all the misses before that. But of course an offside goal which means 1-1 in the 85th minute gets more attention than a missed penalty when we're 2-0 up...

I think we were poor and wasteful today, not creating enough chances and Mignolet playing really good saving the ones we actually created... not winning vs a seriously weak liverpool side at our home pitch today was a smack in the face. If we were to play this exact game 10 times we'd win 9 of them, but I suppose this was the tenth game then :face_palm:

Funny thing is, Liverpool was also offside in the situation leading up to a corner. The very same corner that ultimately lead to their penalty...

Very happy that you guys equalized nonetheless.

Klopp: "We were the better side, United only played long balls last 20 minutes."

This guy used to be so likable, but now he appears to be as deluded as the next scouser. Also, it was interesting to see how negative Liverpool was today, considering how much they always bitch and moan when other teams do the same.

Manc c**ts v scouse c**ts= media c**ts meltdown and the usual boring comments from teletext supporters. All in all a complete borefest.

On play United were definitely the better team

We were, but sh*t would probably be better to eat rather than poison. Doesn't make sh*t taste good though...

That's pathetic, it's like at 5aside and your mate who's scared of the ball goes in goal, you just shoot from anywhere knowing your likely to score.

What's wrong with that - It worked didn't it? Nothing annoys we more than this type of sanctimonious rubbish, and we've heard more than enough of it over the years from Wenger and Guardiola too since he came to England.

Once more I have to ask you guys... is there something in the air up in Liverpool? Is their entire city some sort of safe haven for lunies? I enjoy this forum since most of you can be objective with a hint of favor for Chelsea (which I sort of understand). Their forum lacks any kind of objectivity and according to them we've been getting worse every season since 1878...

What surprised me was the delusion on arsenalmania, they're almost as deluded as their friends up north.

Don't get me started about bluemoon

As a United fan I might not see clearly how redcafe is looked upon for an outsider. But my opinion is that it's quite objective with the random biased member. See lots of "rival" fans on there, which I fail to see on the other three forums mentioned.

I think RedCafe is quite objective and most of the users there are  sane. I think this forum is at the same level with little delusion and a nice atmosphere.

The worst forums are in my opinion RAWK and The Fighting Cock. Delusion runs high and the enviroment is hostile and rude.

I can't say I visit any of them very often, but my experience is exactly the same. RAWK seems to be in a league of its own for delusion and bitterness (I love the RAWK meltdown site which exposes the Scouse mentality to the wider world). I've only ever been on the FC after they've suffered some horrific setback like losing to us, or losing the title thanks to us, or losing their CL place to us, so I fully expected to encounter them at the worst. I have to say I've always come away from RedCafe having been entertained by some classic Manc humour. I infinitely prefer that to what passes for Scouse wit.
