October 14, 20178 yr Today was his chance to prove himself in the absence of Moranta and he FAILED. This Palace team has conceded 17 goals in 7 games before today and he still couldn't make any impact. f**kING USELESS.
October 14, 20178 yr It's not about uselessness, mate. Its about the damn relation between him, the players and the coach. I would justify if some player gets angry with the coach, happened many times in the past, will happen again, but being upset with a teammate that is your subs, and not answering his hi five, that's very filthy behaviour. And that's not the first time - did you count how many times Willian, Pedro, Hazard and the rest were wide open in the past, and he didnt even consider the possibility to pass the damn ball? Shot straight to the goalkeeper, and no even apologies. Why does he sitll not speak English? Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And this damn twitter activity. It's just too much for me. I am done with him, sorry. He is not a bad player, he is just a f****** T**T. That's it. Edited October 14, 20178 yr by Pendergast
October 14, 20178 yr If he puts as much effort, as he puts on his social game, he could actually be a good striker.

After watching Batshuayi i feel like we are not playing to his strengths. By now we can all agree that he is not a hold up striker. I think he will play better in a 2 striker system. He needs somebody else to hold the ball up while he makes the runs. Where i am going with this incessant rant is that we cant play Michy in our current system and we DO need someone who can hold the ball (striker, man behind the striker) in order to utilize him best.

Agree, but the same could be said of huge percentage of today's footballers, not just Chelsea players. IMO, today's generation of footballers, are only interested, in money, social media, tattoos, hair cuts, and cars. The game has gone.
October 14, 20178 yr He just doesn't suit our system, not a single game I've seen him do well as lone striker. Can't hold up the ball, can't play one-twos, he is only good as a second striker when we need to score against a team that is against the wall. I mean he can't even stay onside, not just today but all these things are in all games. Can't wait to have Morata back and we need a new striker in Jan.
October 14, 20178 yr I am watching the Watford Arsenal game. I am astounded that they have Lacazette as their starting striker with Welbeck in as well and Giroud coming in as a sub. We have Moratta (Injured now) and Batshuayi( bad patch) and no one else.
October 14, 20178 yr My seat today was a palace players comp ticket so no singing today! The thing is sat and really focused on Michys game with and without the ball. Like many disappointed with all aspects, hold up play, passing, pressing, but above all movement that would lead to him getting chances at goal. Hope the frustration coming off was aimed at himself and not the manager as he only has himself to blame.

Fair comment. I think he could do well in a different team. Sadly our system suits Morata and doesn't suit his strengths. I think even with a second striker, the system would require more movement off the ball than he has in his locker now. I admire his spirit but it may be time for him to move to a team where he can reach his potential.
October 15, 20178 yr I dont care with his playinh time... when u are sub pls be more sportmanship.. he is utterly arrogant! Shiittttyyyy bats
October 15, 20178 yr f**king sh*thouse of a player We don’t play to his strength, he’s probably better playing running off a defender but his hold up play is shocking I just don’t know what we can do for him? Loan him out and sign Sanchez already
October 15, 20178 yr The lads hold up play is bad, was waiting for him to terrorize there back line, but that aggressive element is just lacking in him. Wonder who scouted him and what they saw cause his play doesn’t suit our style. I bet though if he goes to another PL club he will terrorize the bejesus out of us.
October 15, 20178 yr Remember all the pre season hope and hype when he was smashing all those goals in? He isn’t good enough to lead the line for us, or maybe he doesn’t fit the system we play, you don’t adapt a system around one player though so either way we have big problems all the games Morata doesn’t play.

Yeah, let's change our whole system to accomodate a striker who can't hold up the ball or run with it, or dribble, pass or head the ball or even shoot it properly unless he's 10 feet from goal.

Who was that genius who thought he was Chelsea quality? I doubt Batshuayi suddenly forgot how to do things any proper striker should be capable of the moment he signed for us.
October 15, 20178 yr We are not playing to his strengths? Even Barcelona and Real dont play for Ronaldo and Messi, they play for them. He is arrogant, not only to the coach, but also to the players in the team. He does not want to put some pressure on the defenders, doesnt fight, doesnt pass the ball, doesnt dribble... can you enlight me what his strength exactly is? Because scoring from 5 metres or 1v1 against goalkeeper is not that kind of thing you call strength. I didnt see anything else yesterday, or the game against WBA, West Ham, etc, etc. One simple finishing move is not enough for the way he's been acting since he arrived here.
October 15, 20178 yr Conte correctly identified that Bats isn't good enough to operate within his team framework last season. With this in mind, not upgrading his position looks like a very poor decision that could hurt us big time this campaign. His workrate and in particular the movement is shockingly poor for what is supposed to be a top level striker. Couple this with poor ball control, unable to play with his back to the goal and like others have questioned wonder who thought he was good value for the 33m outlay. Just eight games into the season and we are now seeing why the manager wanted Llorente, he may also have been the player who could have extended Michy's Chelsea career. As it is the decision not to upgrade certain priority positions is now looking likely to hurt us. We have the first eleven to compete at the very top level but once you go beyond that we look incredibly thin on the ground.
October 15, 20178 yr Llorente is nothing to write home about, plus he's past it, but he was exactly what we needed yesterday. He's great in the air and can hold up the ball. His passing isn't his strong suit but it's still significantly better than whatever Batshuayi can do. I realize the club's reluctance to spend money on fee + contract given his age, but it would make sense if they had someone younger and better in mind. But they signed no-one, probably because they insisted on Conte carrying on with Michy. I said it on the transfer deadline and still convinced it was a f**k-up of massive proportions which we'll regret as the season unfolds. I think it's abundantly clear that Batshuayi isn't Conte's buy and the manager has never trusted his ability as a player, and by now we've seen plenty of examples why. We all remember the aftermath of Costa/Conte bust-up amid Chinese bid rumours when Diego decided to 'take it easy' in the second half of last season. Many fans, me included, were wondering why do we have a young 35m striker warming the bench when Costa was clearly not in the right frame of mind to play. This is our answer. Someone f**ked up royally by signing Michy, and now Conte's stuck with a player he has no use for.
October 15, 20178 yr It's woeful that Michy didn't can to win a battle vs Sakho... It's poor, I think he not can to play with our football style. It's embarrassing to see how he slowed our counters. I like this man, because he is a good guy, but his football is very poor for us.
October 15, 20178 yr He has a semi respectable goal record but in general play he's every bit as bad as Torres, if not worse.
October 15, 20178 yr the hypocrisy in this thread is unreal. he had a poor game yesterday but he is still young and has been playing well since the tail end of last season. everyone is expecting him to be this amazing striker week in week out when he has never been that.
October 15, 20178 yr I don't expect him to be amazing week in week out, i do however expect something resembling a footballer, which hasn't been the case all season or most of last if were honest with ourselves.
October 15, 20178 yr Just now, Argo said: I don't expect him to be amazing week in week out, i do however expect something resembling a footballer, which hasn't been the case all season or most of last if were honest with ourselves. Agreed - he came at he hefty price that no doubt he and his agent (+ mum, dad & pet dog) all thought he was worth plus no doubt a salary demand that was commensurate with his perceived abiltiy blah blah blah. I think it is all too easy to lose sight of the astonishing amount of money these lads earn and tbh if I had spent £32m of my hard earned (haha I wish) on him and was throwing £4-5m wages + whatever he gets in bonuses and image rights his way every year then I'd expect him to be delivering the goods.
October 15, 20178 yr That's interesting as I would swap either of them for salah or mahrez (was so gutted we didn't go for him) don't feel they contribute enough when you look at the input of hazard and feel that's the one area holding us back if we had Sanchez for example we would be demonic on the counter lol but I'd settle for mahrez at least he shoots (biggest gripe with Willian)I agree with Mahrez but Salah, he is one of the sh*ttest player we ever signed. I was so frustrated with his performance against United yesterday. I still can't believe José signed him to play for us. I mean he is not good enough for any top team in the EPL.
