Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea

He didn't take his chance, simple as that. Had he scored a double or put in an all round performance, he'd be starting against Everton. However, after that poor game and Hazard/Willian in good form, Conte be mad to start Batshuayi on Saturday.

You really believe that? If Batman scored a double or an all round good performance he would be starting against Everton haha. That would have been an easy bet. There's been no proof of that since August 2016 so I doubt it will change now.

Conte doesn't trust Batman like most managers don't like certain players. That's why he wanted Llorente.

What's he done to merit It? We have proved we are a better team when he isn't starting so why should he play? Is he more effective than Willian, Pedro or Hazard?

Not a chance

That trio of midgets is just toothless.

The team improved instantly as soon as a striker was on vs Huddersfield. The goals cane from gifts and mistakes rather than anything that trio managed to out together themselves.

Winning  against 10 men Qarabag is no measure of success.

It took an Alonso free kick to rescue the points against Southampton. Up to that point, in 80 minutes between the three of them, they'd managed one deflected Pedro effort that rolled against the post.

I absolutely abhor seeing that striker-less front three. So frustrating to watch.

All bark and no bite, and a tame bark at that.

If he goes with that again, I'd be seriously tempted to not watch the game, personally.

True. The guy scores a brace. Had a good game.

Conte: "he is a young player. A very young player. Needs to improve. Work very hard. Player for the future."

He's 24 by now probably. Had at least three full seasons at previous clubs.

He's not great overall, but he knows how to find the net. Plus he's an actual striker who offers an actual b****y presence in the box.

Not a chance

Has he ever been given the chance when the main striker is out? Its been said so many times regarding how players need a sequence of games but this is a young player who came to a new league where its pretty obvious the manager didn't rate him, doesn't take Sherlock to work that out. Some games Batman wouldn't come on or he would come on for 20 seconds, that's not a player who is backed and rather a piss take. His confidence must be f**ked and i didn't watch Wednesday, but if people are saying he was too greedy then that is obviously showing his confidence in his performances. A player who is desperate will play like this, i have said it before but there is alot more to football than feet, in any work place if someone was treated like Batman they would leave or stay in that place and be f**ked. The best thing Batman can do is leave, everyone says what has he done to merit a place but it works in roundabouts and he was f**ked from the start. This is not a big defence of Batman but sometimes abit of common sense needs to be used.

Willian defiantly should be sold in the next 2 windows but he will play well Saturday because its a game made for him on the counter, 3 more days of reading about him being world class.

I could be wrong but im sure Batman would score alot of goals at most prem teams given a chance. There's Everton desperate for a forward, buy him back for 60m lol.

Morata will be back and the Jan window is opening soon, I think he's played one of his last games for us.

I do hope the board goes and gets itself a striker and loans or sells him.

He's the type of player who could be banging them in for a team like West Ham and many on here would be saying to sign him up, only on closer inspection you find out he is totally unsuited to us as his movement and technical game are below what we require.

Or he just wont play from the start so was a pointless signing.

thats it, simply not good enough

For the manager's one, rigid style of play?

In one managers point of view. As a club there is no point in selling Batman because they are a club who changes managers regularly and when Conte leaves in the summer it will be a fresh start for all.

Its always been said Batman was a club signing and ever since Conte has joined he has moaned about transfers, says the club decides who to buy and he isn't shy in making a point to the board.

i think batshuayi is genuinely trash. he looks heavy and at the same time weak, he is slow and lazy, and he looks to be about as bright as a black hole.

batshuayi is a reactive player. he reacts to passes, he reacts to crosses and he reacts to our pressing. there's nothing proactive about the guy.

i have absolutely no faith in batshuayi's abilities for a club of our magnitude, not now and not ever. he's so fundamentally lacking it hurts.

it's a shame, because he hasn't complained a second about game time and has acted as the model professional, there's just nothing in him for me.

Batshuayi should be sold as he has a lot to offer. Not just to Conte. Some managers don't fancy certain players and that's fine but let's not keep knocking a player on the basis of what we see him do in a cameo performance every 2 months or so he gets a chance.

Had he gotten a fair amount of game time since he came to us there would have been improvement. He hasn't been given a fair crack and when Costa was established here you can say he would always have to be benched. Morata now here, never been a main striker elsewhere but leading our line but when not available we do that crap false 9 routine.

I feel for the guy and I would be knocking on everyone's door on January first from manager to marina to anyone at Cobham to ask for my transfer away from the club if I was him. What's the point in being a back up when I won't even get a chance to be back up when the opportunity presents itself.

Do you think a transfer or loan deal? The club would prefer a loan deal, this is a player they invested in but the manager doesn't like. They could loan him out till the end of the season and if he bangs in some goals he holds his value. Everton badly need a new forward and a loan deal suits everyone.

When a new manager comes they might see something in Batman they like.

I see your points with a loan deal for holding value but what I don't like about it is for such a player -profile and age- he should have the certainty of his position in a club that values him. That way he gets his best performances in. I may be unpopular with my opinions on things like this but players should not have to go through what we put them through especially when they were blossoming in their previous club and we paid over £30m for their services. I'd say sell him and take the hit.

He's been ridiculed a lot for no fault of his and if our management think he's not good enough sell him to who he is good enough for.  There is no certainty in the future, in the game and in life generally.

A new manager may come with his own thoughts on how he wants to play so Michy can't and shouldn't wait for that. KDB whilst we knew his potential and possibly more than Michy was rightly stubborn and left and today he is among premiership royalty.

Bats looks brilliant when he comes on as a sub for us, always pops up with a goal or causes the opposition problems. But when he actually starts a game it's a whole different story, doesn't really make much impact and looks lost

I feel the fact that Conte chooses to play a false 9 when Morata is injured or being rested shows that he has no faith in Bats and he has no real future in our team

  • 2 weeks later...

Batman - 16/17 1 league start

                17/18 2 league starts and didn’t get past 60mins

Baka - 16 league starts

Baka is getting slagged off and rightly so after Conte shows all his trust in him and his a first team regular but performances have been going downhill. Others are saying he needs time to adapt which is a fair point. Batman gets 3 starts in 2 years and clearly has never had the backing of the manager but most people just presume his not good enough.

Now I’m not saying Batman is the new Messi or would score goals for fun but anyone who thinks Batman has been given a good chance is wrong. Also got to remember this is a young lad and strikers thrive on confidence, Batman lost his from day one and when the odd chance comes it clearly shows in his play. Now most of us would like to get paid for an average 10second appearance but I can imagine in football it’s a right kick in the balls.

While I don't agree he is trash, the rest is spot on. Very reactive and not very intelligent both on or off the ball (or pitch?).

Seems like a genuinely nice and happy man, but perhaps not enough intelligence to adapt his game to be the sole striker for a club like Chelsea.
