Marcos Alonso

FA is very biased Dele Alli got away with 2 dangerous tackles against Man City earlier this season. Similarly Harry Kane escaped a ban for diving against Liverpool.

Let's be honest, he deserves to be suspended for that. But I don't understand why FA ignores other situations, Harry Kane and Dele Alli against City made worse tackles and got nothing.

Conte has to say that in the press conference, speak about this situation because when we had Costa, every move he made, all England were looking to catch him for something illegal, and other players could continue to play their dirty style.

Mistakes happen, I know that, but it's impossible to see other players getting out of that and our players getting suspended.

Disgusted that Conte has put him straight back into the line up. Emerson couldn’t have done more and Alonso walks straight back in. Managers certainly have favourites.

Maybe it's because Alonso has a chance to make the Spain squad for the WC?

Yes. Shocking.

He played brilliantly today though.

If Emerson had the game Alonso had today you would be singing his praises. I think we have two fantastic LWB's, just Alonso has higher standards to meet because of last season. Emerson will eventually hit the same standard once he consistently performs and people expect that from him every time he plays.

Technically the best left back I have ever seen if the premier wasn't as heavily judged on pace as it is today I am sure he would be very highly rated.

Look at Kolorov in Italy Alonso to me is the far better player

Agree he had a good game today.

Feel like players should have to earn their spot in the team though. Basically told Emerson no matter how good he plays Alonso will always get a look in before him. Playing well should keep a player in the starting 11.

Alonso has played well all season do you not try to reward consistency?

But he hasn't. Looked poor and tired for the majority of it, just read back on this thread to see.

I don't think people's comments are a good way to go by, at the end of the day he is one of the best LWB's in the league if not the best. He hasn't played as good as he did last season but he has been solid overall, a very good player with the ball to his feet.

He's definitely played well this season, you're being far too harsh if you think he has been poor, especially when you compare him to the rest of the side.

Disgusted !!. We win and Alonso plays well how do you feel now bitter?

He has been playing pretty much every game for two seasons now in a role requiring a lot of stamina.

I like him, but I really want to see pace on the flanks especially when it's a 3-5-2.

He played really well today, though.
