October 17, 20169 yr What is going on with that thread title? I've lived in Manchester for 18 years now and can't say I've come across Man United City. Some horrible amalgamation of the two that I don't know about? Having them existing separately is bad enough
October 17, 20169 yr Feels like a big game for Conte this does after losing comprehensively to Liverpool and Arsenal. He needs a good win against a top club so I hope that he can deliver the goods for us. Losing to Jose would be awful and I hope the boys remember last season and Jose treated some of the players. The players owe us a big performance in a big game. That said,Jose is very good in the big games so it will be a tough game and we will have to be at our best to win

October 17, 20169 yr Really hope we can get the win here after last season, although i;d be quietly happy with a draw just because of Joses ability to somehow get a result when he isnt expected to. The way the United fans on the Cafe celebrated tonights 0-0 at Liverpool was cringeworthy considering how they spoke about Jose when he was with us, and then we actually beat Liverpool away on both occasions... funnily enough they also beat pool away the last 2 seasons.
October 18, 20169 yr I think we are in good shape for this game, and a number of players have cases to prove against the former manager. I think Jose will play a similar team, and use Rashford to target Alonso. At least Jose won't have Ivanovic to target this game.
October 18, 20169 yr Jose has a strong bench and will probably use lots of it against fernabace. He knows he will be judged on the premier league, not the Europa. I expect a similar team for the game against us as he played at Liverpool. Mata and carragher and Shaw will start in the Europa.

October 18, 20169 yr I won't take a draw in this game. We should get maximum points. And the positive thing is 4 of our players will be very determined to get on the score sheet: Costa, Hazard, Moses and Luiz. So they will be giving 150% effort on the field and they will like to inspire others to go for the win. So am positive and expecting all three points.
October 18, 20169 yr This is a very important game in terms of either side remaining viable for the top four. Liverpool (West Brom at home), Tottenham (Bournemouth away) and Arsenal (Middlesbrough at home) all have eminently winnable fixtures while Man City are at home to a Southampton side who are in good form, but who have a gruelling away match to Inter only three days beforehand. Whichever side (assuming it's not both) drops points here will likely fall at least three points behind the top four; considering the improved quality of the sides at the top, as well as the fact that both us and Man Utd are still to some extent finding ourselves, the stakes for this match are suddenly very high. If Man Utd lose this they could feasibly be five points away from fourth place by the end of the weekend - I am just grateful they have a midweek game against Fenerbahce!
October 18, 20169 yr It will be tough though. Jose's record in the big games is excellent and he rarely loses them. He knows how to get a result in them so we will have to be at our absolute best to get a win.
October 18, 20169 yr I cant wait for this fixture! Jose will pretty much approach this game in the same way he did last night against Liverpool. He will press high and try long balls to eliminate the midfield build up play and also park the bus with a draw on the cards or hoping for a lucky 1-0. We will need to be very careful and the positive thing is that our players seem determined to not lose this game. I expect a game where Chelsea dominate possession! We really need an early goal otherwise it will play into Jose plans. An early goal will make United come out more and lose their midfield compactness. I would keep the line up as it is! Prediction Chelsea 2 - 0 United. A hazard goal in 15 mins to get things rolling!
October 18, 20169 yr I want us to beat Mourinho. Love the guy for what he did for us but he is NO LONGER one of us, so people at the Bridge, pls give him a big cheer when they come out of the tunnel, then ignore him for the rest of the match and sing for your new manager, Conte. Hopefully we win because we need 2 of City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manutd flop so that we sneak into the top four. No Mourinho chants during the game please, Conte chants for the win Edited October 18, 20169 yr by kellzfresh
October 18, 20169 yr I just hope we give him a decent welcome, and then just support Chelsea and Conte. I hope for zero songs about Jose as he moved on so should we, no more living in the past. I am not ungrateful but we gave him as much he gave us no hard feelings. It is no secret that after he left us the first time he was always looking for the United job, came back to us just to secure it. Things are not going that well form him and i hope we smash them next week, or at least snatch a win. Edited October 18, 20169 yr by TrueBlueBIH

October 18, 20169 yr Im nervous about the game. As Jose knows our players very well and is good at big games. I hope we win but I just have a feeling it will be united who snatch it in the last few mins for some reason hope I'm wrong !
October 18, 20169 yr All i care about is a win, i don't care if it's a scrappy 1-0, i'll take it. We need a win in one of these big games to make up for the defeats against Arsenal and Liverpool.

Looks like it was f**k all to do with him wanting to come off in case he got booked, just another of his alpha male confrontations. http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/10/18/13314768/never-a-boring-day-is-there
