Is the result good in light of the table and other teams round us, yes, but does it make me feel better we get bossed by teams like Liverpool and Tottenham and that we missed a pen and a golden opportunity, no. Even if we win the league I won't be satisfied with a team that can't play in big games, that's not Chelsea, call me spoiled if you like, big game performances are part of the DNA of Chelsea even pre Roman, I don't like it, not a bit.

we split with Tottenham so how's that getting bossed

Sad c**ts flooding the forum get a life ffs

On a more serious note I'm relieved and disappointed. I'm relieved about the result and disappointed with the performance. Quite frankly, we didn't deserve to win that, in fact a point was barely deserved, and (it pains me to say this) it would have been harsh on Liverpool had Costa scored the penalty. We seemed scared of the occasion, we gave a stuttering Liverpool side far too much respect. The front three were very poor, particularly Hazard, who has been atrocious lately. Kante was probably our best player tonight. I really hope Conte starts Fabregas on Saturday. We look so much more composed when he came on, whereas Matic was constantly putting passes astray. Overall, it was an okay night; our poor performance was offset by Spuds' and Arsenal's results. A draw wasn't the worst result, it leaves us 9 points clear, and should we win on Saturday, the table will be looking very healthy indeed. Here's hoping for an improvement at the Bridge. KTBFFH

Agree - this team is good but it needs to progress further, if we do win the title we should be aiming for a serious run in the Champions League next season and performances like that just won't cut it.

In terms of the title race, it's probably a solid point , but that was another below par performance. Just like against Spurs, we struggled with possession and passing when the opposition pressed us. I could not remember we put 7-8 passes together until the 80th minute, after Cesc came on. I still believe the Matic/Kante combo is the problem, Kante is great at ball winning, Matic could win some headers and provide some strength, but neither of them could pass or have the composure to keep the ball. For most of the game, everytime Matic got the time, he either kicked it out or passed it straight back to the opponent. We either take a risk with Cesc or play a Chaloabah, a player in between Matic/Cesc. Liverpool wasn't great, but eventually they got lucky after we hand them the ball back time after time. We sold ourselves short, they were awful in the back, and we never really threatened them until the final 10. Hazard wasn't great, but he rarely received the ball in the final third, I reckon his heat map would show he spend most of the time retrieving the ball in our own zone and try to bring it out. It's ironic Conte took the regular penalty kicker off, we got one and Costa missed. Costa got no services all game, again due to our inability to pass or keep possession.

We had the chance to shot them down and we didn't, for the neutrals we are keeping the title race interesting, however I feel we lost 2 points tonight. We have to beat Arsenal, another draw ( don't even think about losing), our lead could be overturned in 2 games ( could be wrong since I haven't checked other games). Given there are United, City, Everton etc to come, we will drop a few more points

Think it shows that we need to go with 3-5-2 in big games.

it was no coincidence that when that happened with fabs on we controlled the game more and looked much better going forward

A draw is good enough for this game. We could win that, but we also could lose that. Our attackers were very disappointing today, we will need to improve our game for the next game against Arsenal. We didn't look good but we have a good fight.

The most disappointing moment in the game is the Batshuayi's substitution, poor lad got 20-30 seconds to play. I ask myself why Conte did it, I mean it only lowers his morale, confidence. Costa had a really poor night, I believe Batshuayi deserves to play 20 minutes, he scores goals, working hard.

Anyways, I hope we will see an improvement against Arsenal, we had a tough night and credit goes to the defense and Kante who was brilliant.

COME ON CHELS!!!!!

Then again he would have scored the penalty and probably won us the game if he was on the field.
But yes, he is clearly not himself anymore. Good Hazard would never be taken off at any circumstance but now he's been subbed off a lot lately.

Its clear why hes being subbed. When we are on the backfoot, Conte looks to sure it up. If he wasnt in our team it would be even more devoid of technical ability.

It seems to me like he says to hazard, run yourself into the ground and when your done ill bring you off. Rather than him playing in patches to conserve energy.

I suppose if you watched the games you would know they outplayed us for 3 halfs of football even the game they lost they bossed us in possession, tempo, momentum, we were just more clinical and had a great second half, the first half and whole of the game we lost they bossed us completely

Matic was awful, he either takes too long to do anything with the ball or his passes are generally loose or too short. He just gives the ball away too much. People moan about Fabregas defensive side of the game but Chelsea would have to do less defending when they don't give the ball away as much. Plus Fabs creativity helps players like Hazard and Costa.

Willian is same old Willian, got the legs but when you want someone to do something with limited chances in a tight game his the last player you want on the ball.

Got away with a s*** performance with others bottling it.

On the upside, we are top of the league!!!

If we lost 8-0 we would be too if the league I think people are disappointed at the performance, the wider issue of our big game performances and the fact we missed a golden opportunity

Say what you want, I think that we should get more than a draw out of this!! We were sooo boring and static today IT'S SAD! I'm not happy, regarding being away at Scousers. We are at the moment THE DEAL and really should've won today!

Fabregas should start sinc minute 1 from now on, because when he enters, we actually start to play a little! And even Pedro over Hazard, who's been really poor in recent games!!!

I know, just trying to keep a balance, 1-1 to liverpool at theirs is ok, the team is a work in progress. Id have taken this position easily this time last year ;)

Need more steel in the middle of the pitch and proper wing backs, add in a classy forward on the right and we have everything we need

Everything you said is spot on

So much doom and gloom :)

Top of the league and in a great position, all our rivals are struggling too and relatively we are due some bad performances. The team will evolve in the summer, I have no doubt. I will be concerned if we do not strengthen our midfield in the summer.

Antonio Conte was not happy at post match interview...

The point is if we win this we do not have to worry about Chelsea all remaining 15 matches of the season..

Less heart ache and better performance until May
