Liverpool Vs Chelsea (PL) Tue 31/01 2017 KO 20:00 GMT

Lucky for us the results elsewhere went our way.

That performance wasn't good enough & I must admit our performances against the top sides is concerning me, this isn't the first time we've looked well below par against the top teams. I hope Conte can work on that.

Overall, Liverpool were the better team but I think we had the better chances.

I wont complain too much as we didn't lose.

A draw is probably a fair result but after missing a pen it still feels like two points dropped.

Something to be said when fab came on we controlled the game. Think tonight we were overrun in midfield, and noticeable against the better teams, there 3 overruns our 2.

Poor ball retention, and we really need a replacement for matic. Kante gives the ball away a hell of a lot...but he more than makes up for it with his engine. Would like to see us stamp our authority on these big games form time to time, but will take the point.

i know our rivals all dropped points today so it kinda makes it better, but we definitely let it slip trough our finger
i was surprised and a bit annoyed when Costa stepped up to take the spot kick. it was known during his Atletico days that spot kick is one of his weakness. the pessimist in me knew that he was going to f*ck up the moment he stepped up. i think his desire for the golden boot got him hasty

if only Cesc was already on during that penalty... oh well

Decent result especially given what happened elsewhere. Poor performance but we still could have won!

Good performance by Clattenburg for once I thought.

disappointed with the result - you have to be when you miss a pen - and disappointed with the performance, we didn't really look like ourselves tonight: never controlled the game, played aimless hoofs up the field etc... I don't know what it is about Liverpool but they certainly disrupt the way we want to play.

Is the result good in light of the table and other teams round us, yes, but does it make me feel better we get bossed by teams like Liverpool and Tottenham and that we missed a pen and a golden opportunity, no. Even if we win the league I won't be satisfied with a team that can't play in big games, that's not Chelsea, call me spoiled if you like, big game performances are part of the DNA of Chelsea even pre Roman, I don't like it, not a bit.

While it is disappointing to draw a game we were ahead in and failed to score a pen in, this was a good result.  Liverpool were desperate to win, they needed it more and did not get it. They were at home to the team they were chasing.

On top of that arsenal lost a game they should have won, Spurs were held. We are 9 clear of them both and still 10 clear of Liverpool. Now we can make a real statement if we can beat arsenal on the weekend.

Not a good performance at all. At least we got a point and the other challengers dropped points so we have gone a point further ahead.

Did anyone notice that as soon as Fabregas came on, we controlled the ball so much better in midfield ? Matic was horrendous today. He made a couple of good clearances but on the ball he was a complete chicken sh*t. Seriously, he has no bottle anymore. Every time the ball goes to him, it's either a rushed pass or he takes forever and he is closed down and losses the ball. We are carrying him these days and it's time for Fabregas or Chalobah to come in.

I also thought Hazard getting subbed early was really harsh. Had he stayed on, he would have taken the penalty and probably scored it and he would have benefited from Fabregas and Pedro being on the field with him. He had no help from the wing backs or centre midfielders today. There was nothing he could do, the same goes with Costa. They were given no help from the rest of the team today.

Moses struggled today too i thought. Lost his man multiple times and wasted every chance when he got forward.

Luiz, Cahill, Azpilicueta and Kante were very good for me though. The tackles, positioning and awareness of their surroundings was top notch. They were the reason why we got a point out of today.

Plenty of room for improvement after today's game, but it's a fantastic result because we have moved further ahead.

Wasnt great. I dont weve got it quite right yet for the big games.

But for the overall picture a point is almost as a good as win given the other result, and also liverpool spurs and arsenal are all playing each other in the next month.

Was it Liverpool fans that came here to crash the site. I suppose after this they're back in the title race then? Lol

Whatever happens with the Arsenal game we have 4 winnable games on the trot whilst they play each other so as far as I'm concerned the title is pretty much wrapped up.

I'm sorry but Conte needs to drop Hazard for the next game. Hes been poor for far too long now.

Then again he would have scored the penalty and probably won us the game if he was on the field.
But yes, he is clearly not himself anymore. Good Hazard would never be taken off at any circumstance but now he's been subbed off a lot lately.

I disagree. Hazard pulls in opposition, opens up areas for others. The problem is with the others (lack of willingness to run and explore). Tonight Hazard was taking too much on and became isolated and slow due to lack of passing options.

Disappointed not to get the 3 points in the end after first going ahead then getting the penalty late on but I would have taken the draw before the game. With Arsenal losing and Spurs only drawing we are now 9 points clear with a chance to put Arsenal out of the race at the weekend. It was an overall poor performance. We only looked dangerous when Fabregas and Pedro came on. Luiz was yet again immense and has proved a lot of people wrong (including me) since he's came back. We have to play a lot better than we did today to beat Arsenal but I think we will be right up for it and will beat them convincingly.
