We hardly created a chance. We couldn't string 3 passes together.

We didn't have to. The onus was on Liverpool to win, not us.

We created as many chances as they did and had arguably the better chances overall. With the exception of their goal Courtois wasn't tested, defensively we looked as comfortable as we have in any game against a top six side.

For those bemoaning our big game performance, here is the current Big Six Mini League table.

So we lost the most games tied with city..we were always top of that chart by miles, factor in we were very lucky to win at city and that Tottenham outplayed us for 3 halves, we have been clinical and that's important but performance wise we have been piss poor a lot of the time

Kante bossed the midfield all by himself, he is definitely my man of the match. Luiz comes at a very close second.

Overall, very poor performance from us today but we still managed to extend our lead. Of course we will dread the missed penalty but most of us would have gladly taken a draw before the match.

Win against Arsenal and then we can start talking about the title.

Who says we didnt have to win? So we played for a draw? Im not happy with that. A win would of all but wrapped it up. Its far from that now.

Im not comparing us to liverpool, or saying they played well. Im talking about us. We didnt create many (if any) real chances. And in possession we were useless. Bigger and better teams in europe would have beaten us tonight, which is where we are looking long term.

if only he could pass!

He is alright at passing. There are some worse. But he is a bull-terrier, has buckets of energy and tenacity of the highest order. The guy should advertise Duracell batteries. I would hate to play against him, as he robs you every time in an impossible situation, and this disheartens the opposition big time.

People have absolute insane expectations of each player in our side apparently if you are not as quick as Usain Bolt with an ability to dribble like Messi's, pass like Pirlo's, defend like Terry and run through players like Jonah Lomu you aren't good enough to play for Chelsea.

We extend our lead by 1 point to 9 our two closest rivals both drop points in easy games !!

come on guys get real this has been a great night for us

we go on

stop making sense bro - many people here want to moan :P - think about this, if DC converts that PK the lpoo title charge would have been done - IMHO that was a great save by Mignolet - I don't know how he reached down to stop the ball - he had overplayed the shot

your missing a few there. He wouldnt be good enough

Not the best of performances but happy with the point. I really don't understand the reason for Matic getting the place in starting XI; he is very slow, his passes aren't reaching our players and I don't think his defending is that good either. Did you notice that right after Fabregas came on the pitch there was some sence in our attacking. I really don't understand why he's not starting the games. Yeas I know his defending is not his best quality but having a couple of goals ahead you can take him off the pitch.

Willian was lazy and so was Costa. I hope Costa's weak performance was only a one game exception.

Yeah more than makes up for it. Its not even his passing. Its more the ability to get out of tight situations and retain the ball for us. A player next to him who can do that will compliment him nicely.

It's different watching a live match. Liverpool got lucky tonight but we could easily have lost this game through an unlucky bounce of the ball. Not perfect but we looked very solid and really should have won. The other results mean we are 9 points clear with a better goal difference and I'm syre we'll be on fire on Saturday.

Well then do below par in big matches and do a sub-standard Champions league campaign

Matic!!

Honestly what are some people watching.

He was superb tonight. Some vital interceptions, shrugged off the high press and never caught in posession. At worst he released out of play to protect against the counter, but I can only think of one occasion he even did that.

Anyone critical of Kante or Matic tonight need to appreciate how difficult their jobs were, particularly in possession. They had 2 red shirts sprinting at them any time they saw the ball, waiting to pounce on a mistake in the middle. A big part of Liverpool's game is that central trio hounding and snatching possession in the middle, and they're good at it.

Sure they can't pick a pass like Cesc, but they were never given the time to evem think about trying. Our midfield duo did very well.

Really strange that we drew at Anfield, extend our lead to 9pts and yet I'm strangely dissapointed. I don't even know why. Anyone else feel the same? It's actually been a very good night for us but I'm still down. Weird
