Chelsea Vs Boro (PL) Mon 08/05 2017 KO 20:00 GMT

Sky doing their best to keep the excitement in the race. Play spuds first trying to reduce the gap and putting pressure on us. I'm surprised they haven't postponed our game trying to get them ahead!!!

I can see this being tricky but if we turn up with the right attitude and energy to our play then we should really win. It will be interesting to see how Hull's result against Sunderland on the prior Saturday affects Middlesbrough's approach to this.

Apparently it's not serious and he should be OK for Boro. I will take this opportunity to express how much of a gladiator he has been this season, playing through the pain barrier, leadership, and finally a maturity to his game ::clap2::

I was strongly against bringing him back but I have to admit (and am glad to do so :-)) that he was a success. He clearly matured as a defender and Conte has set up a system that builds on his strengths and masks his weaknesses. I wonder if he was a club signing or the mad Italian asked for him.

Could be worse, at least the fixtures are not set by BBC...

Have often wondered myself. Conte requires a ball playing centre back as the middle man of the 3, which would intimate that he was a Conte choice. However, considering how many we were linked to and the last minute purchase of Luiz would suggest that it was a panic buy. In hindsight a great panic buy

If the board decided on him as a panic buy the I have too say Conte did brilliantly with the squad he was given, found the best system to get the most out of this lot.

The gap will be 1 point but remember, this is the last time Spurs play before we do this season, next 2 games after this we play first and the last day every game is kicking off together.

'Boro wont lie down but we have plenty enough to beat them and the grit and determination the players showed at the weekend to beat Everton showed me they'll go again and treat every game like a final and we've 3 more final now before we can win the league.

Come on you blues.

I believe I am right in saying, we all know Conte's first choice was Bonucci.

Gap will be one point and boro are scrapping for their lives so this one will be tougher than most are expecting.

And I doubt anyone really believes the gap won't be 1 before we play. West ham 1 win in 11 against 9 out of 9 Spurs. That game is the banker of the weekend.

After West Ham on Friday the 5th, Spurs have 9 days off before they play Utd on the 14th.

Then theyre away to Leicester on the 18th and everyone is playing on the last day, the 21st May, 3 games in 7 days.

In contrast our schedule is 'Boro on the 8th then we WBA on the 12th and Watford on the 15th and Sunderland on the last day.

We've got our 3 games in 7 days before they do so I'm not sure what schedule I prefer but playing before them first in 2 of the remaining 3 weeks thats possible, I'm going to suggest our run is more favourable.

Every game is must win but theres going to be serious pressure on the 'Boro game with Spurs playing on Friday and us waiting to play on Monday. O think 'Boro will be a tough game but as its been pointed out, if results go against them, they'll be all but doiwn before they play us and that might help us too.

I'm hopeful for another clean sheet and 3 points anyway, be nice to get a golden glove winner this year.

Let's put 4 past these, get our goal difference up just in case it were to come down to it. Must win game the same as all the rest of our games until the title is in our hands

Knowing Spuds last 25 years of 'bad luck' , they could win all the remaining games 1-0 (equalling the 13 win streak prem record) , we could drop points in two games with draws against Boro and WBA, and then go out and hammer Watford and Sunderland 5-0 each ( +10 goals) and pip them on goal difference.

If Carling did Premier League finales^ :laugh2:

In fact if it comes down to goal difference on the final day, and its just a matter of who has the best goal difference in those last games (Hull and Sunderland), i feel sorry for Sunderland and Moyes.

Chelsea vs Middlesbrough?

Only one score line it can be.

2-0 to Chelsea.

I thought they were called Boro2-0 in the late 90's.

Don't know if it has been mentioned or not. Probably has... but the last time we won the league. Our final fixture was Sunderland at home.

Good omen.

I'm actually glad that Spurs play before us this time. I hate Friday night games, that's no time for football, so it's great that it's not us playing it.

It will be when we go to west brom though.

If that's the case, let's hope its not a bad omen for the next campaign.
