An SPL player..,really.

Scott Sinclair has better stats in the league and was their best player last season, we going to get him?

We need a top striker not some gambles from a tin pot league

Henrik Larsson?

What more than 10 years ago when guys like De Boer and Van Bronchurst were playing in Scotland?

I hate to tell you but Scottish football has moved on from those days, it's abysmal

Think you're being too negative on the guy...did really well in the CL scoring against Barcelona and City...think he'll do well for us and is a reasonable price around £25m...

I watch Scottish football every week when the season is going on. Have you watched much of him like?

Tony Watt scored against Barcelona.

Ross McCormack scored against inter Milan

Yes I have and I saw him at Fulham...it's just my opinion but for what's its worth I think he's a talented player that can take the next step with us...

You have to ask yourself why Aubameyabg is being hawked around right now. 2 years ago you wouldn't have got him for any offer and now Dortmund are seemingly happy to let him go... What's changed?

A lot has changed at Dortmund since they were last a relevant contender in Germany or Europe, Tuchel did well having been forced to lose a lot of key pieces and now the club is moving in a new direction with another new manager in Bosz. Hardly surprising that Aubameyang would be open to moving at this stage, probably his last chance for a big money move. For the career he's had his medal count is also rather scarce, so you could see him wanting to find a club capable of challenging for titles. BVB are very much in flux at the moment, so his chances of major honours will likely be better elsewhere. The club have shown over the years that they're willing to part with big players to invest elsewhere, he is contracted till 2020 but there's not much to be gained for them if he's set on moving. His current deal was signed back in 2015 as well so there's an obvious financial motive, the goalposts for a striker of his calibre have moved and he'll command higher wages elsewhere than BVB will be willing to pay.

CHELSEA have seen an £87.5million bid for Gonzalo Higuain rejected by Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

If we're after any striker from Juventus it should be Mandzukic. 31 yes but has scored goals everywhere he has been. Would comfortably replace the goals and workrate of Costa.

Dembele is an interesting one. Everyone seems to rate him. From what i saw in the CL last year he didn't do a great deal.

well he is playing for celtic in Europes top competition, it's hard to showcase yourself, mind you salah and willian both ripped us apart while playing for pretty average teams and we bought them both, he did score 2 into city though, I think he is decent, wouldnt be a statement signing but worth a punt under 30 million, I'd start him over Bats and I actually think bats is potentially a good striker

Not sure I buy the thesis that we weren't ever interested in Lukaku. Doesn't look like we had a plan other than Lukaku. Conte burned our bridges with Costa in an attempt to force the Board's hand and it's now backfired.

Looks like we're trying to assess our options. And Aubameyang has come top of the list despite the fact that he's not much of an improvement over Costa.

Think the Board and manager have handled this really badly. All of a bit of a cock-up to be honest.

There was definite interest in Lukaku but in typical Board fashion, they sat on it until Man Utd swooped in with a formal bid and then it was game over.  The counter bid was merely a PR face saving move.  There won't be much time left to assess options was Dortmund and other clubs would want their replacements to be sorted out as well.  This is the most important position to be refreshed this summer and if the board refuses to break the club's transfer record, I dread to watch our matches next season.

The way it's going at the moment we'll be looking at whoever has two legs and looks available.

Sad but we should have been able to sign someone by now

I think you're right, I should have added the option "Anyone with two legs".

I've waited almost two years for champions league football again. If we lose Costa and are stuck with batman I'll throw up

I'm not sure how this is worked out but there is a stat that lukakus goals aren't Everton a total of 7 points last season. I guess this is based on winning and equalizing goals. What we can say is that in his limited game time michy won us 9 point s last season . He is much much better the. Given credit for

I agree, a lot of people under estimate this guy, he has an eye for goal and can be a top forward given the chance. Short of getting one of our top targets i'd be happy with benteke or Llorente backing up michy. Us being forced into giving him a chance may just be a blessing in disguise.

Yknow, with Conte's new assistant coach who are obsessed about youth players I reckon we're going to be a lot more youth friendly next season.

Everyone worries about the homegrown quota and how we're short, I think Conte is planning to upgrade quite a few young players and give them the chance to shrine. He's already seen Loftus Cheek, Ake and Chalobah so he got rid of them and he's giving the new boys a chance.

So I'm beginning to believe that Bats will be the main striker with a back up signing, and a youth striker.

After all he has kick started Pogba's career.

Who's Conte's new asst. coach?

If we're going to stick with Michy then we should spend the rest of the money on a WC winger as well as 2 very good-WC wingbacks.

Unless he has that kind of number as a release clause, there is no way Celtic would accept so small a fee. Not that the player is worth more, but they'll adopt the same attitude as every other club when selling to a Premier League contender.

except if you consider the games that Michy scored those goals in, we were not flowing and gliding all over. They were tight game were things weren't clicking and the opposition had successfully parked the bus, that's the point of making the difference.

He was thrown on against watfrod when we were 1-0 down and got the goal that got us back in to it

Got the assist against for the winner against west ham,

Both these games where before the loss to arsenal and we were not gliding.

Got the winner against Westbrom in a nervy game to win the title.

And the winner agasnt Watfrod in a 4-3 cracker  - ill grant you the title was won at this point.

It quite annoys me that assumption is made all was nice and easy and the team didn't have to dig in on a few occasion. And whats more annoying is you're comment is made on style of play when you clearly haven't watched the games! 7 weeks ago you wouldn't have cared about my post either

Maybe but plenty of potential loanees could help Brendan accept a realistic offer...

I'm still holding on to a chance we get Morata. The club needs to show the players and the fans the intention to compete with the big boys. Currently we are second tier.
