Ideally in 1-2 years, I'd like Abraham to be involved, but it's too soon for him, he needs PL experience.

Since we are struggling to find a striker and the prices are so high, is there anyone we could loan in for a year? That way we can see if they fit in and if we should spend the money on them next year, and it's more temporary incase Tammy lights up the PL and the club want to get him back in.

In that case someone like Chicha would be a great option. A proper goalscorer. 29 year old, would be cheap and a decent solution for a couple of years while Michy can get a proper chance and Tammy can be integrated in 2 years' time.

Michy being first choice is growing onto me tbh, I'm going to ignore all the transfer rumours now and believe that Bats will be our first choice striker.

He showed he was good enough last season and really he should have replaced Costa after January. Part of me thinks he hasn't because Conte doesn't want Costa to disrupt the team morale. We know he's capable of doing that.

That's not strictly true.  Up until the last few games, he looked like a boy among men, trying hard, but not very successfully.  Towards the end of the season I thought he was great.  And I must say that I actually like the bloke and I think he has a great future.  I rate him higher than Lukaku now, let alone in the future, but it took him a long time to start to play like that.

I just hope that the end of the season was more representative of his standard than the first 6 months was.

True, I remember quite a few posts last season complaining about Michy "he's trying too hard", and only the last few matches he seemed more settled. If he is our starting striker next season, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'trying too hard' bit will pop up again to justify his selection as a starter.

I for one still think he is way better than Lukaku, only Lukaku gets way more exposure and media attention. Not to mention the fact Martinez still has a thing for him, that's why Michy doesn't get the game time he deserves.

We can't only have batshuayi play him and morata and bench Pedro 

60 game+ for Batshuayi next year with Remy as backup ? No Thanks. We need a worldclass striker like Belotti or Aguero, if we sell Costa for 40mil, thats 40-50mil for Belotti, thats what City has payed several of their new signings now.

Scorer of great goals, great goalscorer, improves the team on the offensive side of the game and brings out the best of his teammates as well as being able to carry the team on his back even when all hope is lost. Doing that consistently.

That to me is what a WC striker is

Great timing. We all begin to talk about how Bats can take up the main striker role, then news broke out everywhere saying we are close to signing Morata.

Thats basicly what Belotti does, he scores all sort of goals, he is also a very good target man and starts alot of Torinos attacks by himself. He is the main striker for Italy as well now, for several games and I doubt anyone is close to challanging him for his spot for the world cup 2018. I have no doubt that he will be just as good next season.

Italy lacked a good striker for a while. It's telling enough that Conte picked Pelle for the Euros. We still don't know who the national team coach will pick

Doing it for a midtable team is good, but if he was WC, Torino would've done better in the Serie A and their cups. Suarez made Sturridge and Sterling looked very good and almost took them to the title, Lewandowski showed the world that that Dortmund team could compete with Real and won the league and cup with Dortmund. Until Belotti can do that, then he's not WC yet.

Time will tell.
