Palace, lets be fair not only were the players complacent the fans were too, I dont understand how people thought it would be an easy game when they had 2 weeks to prepare for the game with a basically full squad. They have good players,Zaha,Townsend,Cabaye,Sakho, Puncheon all more than capable on their day and they never give it to us easy in SP. 

Whats sickening the most lately being Chelsea fan is seeing all these players that Mourinho sold for us. De Bruyne, Lukaku(albeit I still prefer Morata) Salah. These players are ripping it up in the PL and he sold them on us. 

Tonight Im going to prioritise PL and take a chance. A draw tonight is ok,a loss and it leaves us with work to do but got to back ourselves, whats for sure is that we cannot lose any further ground in the PL. I dont care how good City are, they will hit a bad patch at some point like last season.

Dont want to risk Morata tonight, give Batman a chance, I know he has been poor in big games but he has to improve, lets give him another chance. Think we need to have 3 in midfield tonight, Palace killed us at the weekend and with Nangolain in CM for Roma I dont think we can afford to go with just 2 in CM. 

 

You do realise that Morata will start this game? Also count the number of players in your formation.......it adds up to 12 players.

Yes I've noticed  Yeah I would imagine Morata will start the game, just hope he doesnt get injured again, we badly need him for the PL.

I'd play with a 352 as some of you have already mentioned: Azpi Christensen Rudiger; Zappa Baka Luiz/Drinkwater (if available) Fabregas Alonso; Pedro Morata

Very envious - enjoy your night at the football.  Apparently drinkwater may not be fit for another 3-4 weeks which is quite frustrating.

It would be nice to see Drinkwater.

I can't believe Qarabag and Athletico are still 0-0. I wonder if they just put up a crap show against us, if they're a decent team, or if jet lag is killing teams going out there.

3-5-2 it is...let's go boys probably our strongest possible starting lineup with the exception of cahill.  

Poor Rudiger, what does he have to do to be in the Starting 11?

This is the manner in which Atleti always plays.  Close games, whether they play Real Madrid or Qarabag.  

Lovely work from Qarabag, leaves us in a very strong position now.

It’s a fantastic starting team, except I’d played Rudiger for Cahill. If they show up, we’ll enjoy a great game at the Bridge!

Luiz in midfield . . I'm actually looking forward to seeing how he performs, as having his passing range further up the pitch can only be a good thing.  Come you blues!

Would have liked to see Rudiger start and for Alonso to be rested, but at least Christensen is playing and Luiz is in midfield to help Bakayoko and Fabregas. This is probably the line up we should have gone with against Palace.

Pretty much the ideal starting XI with what players we have, though as people have already mentioned I would have rather Rudiger played than Cahill. A shame not to see Musonda on the bench over Willian or Scott. 

Lucky for us Athletico drew, so there's some pressure off us, but it would be good to get the 3 points. Im hoping to see a good performance from Zappa because he hasnt had much of a chance to showcase himself, and also Luiz in MF should be good to watch.

Don't like this lineup. Fabregas in midfield and cahill at the back. Where is Rudiger?  He knows Roma inside out. Another poor team selection by Conte. Let's hope we don't lose.

Great to see Morata back in the team. I just hope he's not rushing back too soon.

 

I like this team, would swap Cahill with Rudiger as he's been much better and he'd have a point to prove against his former club, but other than that this team should be more than capable of winning this one.
