Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

    • Carlo Ancelotti

Honouring your contract means, if you want me to leave give me my 9 million

Conte knows Chelsea won't have a lame duck in charge and the 9m is his when the board do blink first. He was probably hoping he'd get a gig elsewhere but no one wants him. So he will wait for the Bayern or Madrid job to come up again - likely in the next 6 months.

Also, if Conte gets sacked, his whole team will get sacked. They want a payout too

Conte; Bayern & Real Madrid jobs? Won’t happen.

I wonder what"s going to happen if neither Conte nor the club make the first move to part ways. How long can the club afford to hold off signing a new manager...

Imagine another season of Conte because of it. It does seem like reports are pointing towards Conte staying. If he does stay then next season is a write off, I imagine it will just get worse from here on out.

Hazard go, Willian go, Club signing players Conte has not requested because the club knows it is Contes last year, Bakayoko starts every game etc.

It will be a nightmare.

Just double Sarris wages and let him build PL’s best attacking football.

You reckon? If the club refuse to sack Conte, will he really sit around like a lame duck and jeopardise his chances of working for another big club?

I think he won't be able to function properly much the same way as this season. It would be awful and he couldn't stop himself from making it as bad as possible even if he tried. From what Juventus fans say of him, he sounds like a massive prick to deal with.

Sure he’s probably a big prick but the rest is rubbish. If he throws away another season with us no will want to touch him. He knows that. The truth is, despite all his flaws, there is no one available any better than him at the moment. Sure, sack him and give him the money and bring in Enrique who at best is as good (but definitely not any better). Give it 2 seasons and we’ll be back where we started. Gardening leave for Conte might be in his interests but if I were a prospective employer I would prefer to see him pull his head out of his arse and serve a professional closing 12 months of his contract. If he’s desperate to leave then he can pay out his contract. Roman needs to do something different this time to break the cycle.

You won't break the cycle with Conte as manager. At best we get 1 year from him before he quits as he did at Juventus. At worst you get that same year but with him stinking out the place and actively screwing things up with all the players by digging them out and picking fights. We will be nowhere near better off next year either way as we bring in a sh*t load more of Conte style players (Target men, physical midfielders with poor technique and a load of wing backs) which will inevitably not fit the next managers ideas as the only available managers are more in the mould of Guardiola then Conte. Also, all reports indicate that a lot of players will leave if Conte stays on, namely Hazard, Willian and Courtois. I don't see us replacing these players adequately and I don't think Conte's would have any intention of replacing them because they don't really fit his mould of player.

Conte can do as poorly as he wants next season and still walk into a big job. That is the nature of the Chelsea job, where a manager will get all the credit when things are good and none of the blame for when things go bad. I bet you most fans of other clubs think we have screwed Conte over if he is sacked this season. All he has to do is complain about lack of funding and he will get the support he desires.

Who would you rank as better then Conte? Because I could name 10 managers who are better then Conte from this season.

Carlo won the double in his first season and sacked after the following season for finishing 2nd.

The board will sack him after the game today if we lose. I think they might keep him if we win. No way was he going before the final.

As for his contract CFC are known for not paying out now. They sack them but continue to pay their wages and know he will get another job asap. Then the wages stop. Makes sense. I want him to have another go but with 3/4 world class signings. Hopefully he can think up a new system as everyone copied him this season.

He won't get another job asap. None of the big clubs want him.

3/4 world class signings?!? Who?! We are the 4th most appealing club in England now let alone Europe and we have the budgets to match. We would be lucky to get one world class signing.

Conte wants to beat a bigger club with more money than Chelsea. He will be gone this summer and if he's not, he will be gone next summer and not improved.

So his contract gambit worked. Easy money.

I remember when people said Jose was finished and no big clubs wanted him either.

Im not a fan of Enrique being the next manager, but him demanding 15mil pounds per year for any job he gets is only going to leave him unemployed (unless that is what he really wants). The teams that can afford that/or at least would be willing to splash cash are the Manchester clubs, Madrid, and PSG; all of who already have managers. No way do I see Arsenal or the Chelsea board paying for that wage and they are the only two clubs linked with him.

Difference between both is Jose has an European pedigree & he can’t remember him bad mouthing his employer. I actually think bar PSG, Utd will be his last big job unless he actually wins something. As things stand Klopp is probably a big draw at this point than Jose because of his style of football, and player development (young). Let’s see where Conte ends up but I won’t be surprised if he has to sit out next season.

Looks like Sarri will be leaving Napoli now. His comments after todays Napoli-game suggests that.

Could very well be us he's heading too if its the case.

And a £250m transfer kitty. Those wages will make him the 3rd highest paid manager in the world, just above Mourinho. The irony is bar winning the treble with Barca (peak Messi-Suarez-Neymar), he hasn’t won anything else. I guess the mythical idea of being a world class manager pays a lot.

Conte would easily get another top job, he did fantastic with a seriously poor Italy team and in 5 years in total with Juventus and Chelsea he's won 4 League titles and 3 Cups
