BlueCo buy Chelsea FC

So a question for both those behind this ownership, whether they believe in them or think at least they are not like certain other owners, and those against them.

If The ownership truly believe in this model to produce an exciting, winning team, as has been put forward , why is the same model not applied to the women's team?

Given the relative standing of the Chelsea Ladies in the women's game vs where our men where at, it will probably take a bit longer for BlueCo to f**k things up properly, but don't despair, I have great faith that they will get there :-)

They have to an extent but the talent pool in women's football is much smaller, meaning talent is easier to identify, and we are a much larger fish that can easily afford anything with no FFP restrictions to boot. If anything the "model" is copied from the women's team who have a long history of early talent identification.

We signed two of the best players in the women's game for a combined 3m so there's barely any financial risk for huge financial gain with the current growth rate of women's football.

Honestly can't work these owners out. Why are they here ? What do they actually wat ?

If it was profit, you surely wouldn't pay £2.3 billion (and with a promise to spend £1.75 billion on top of that) for an asset that the previous guy paid £140m for only 19 years earlier, especially when you immediately replace most of the behind-the-scenes infrastructure and playing staff that he had built (basically saying that it was valueless), and sign £800m worth of replacement players for £1.2 billion, and pay them huge multiples of their wages at previous clubs. Nor would you forego £80m of shirt sponsorship, and pay out yet more millions in compensation for your poor manager/coach hiring and firing decisions.

If was sporting excellence, you wouldn't hire two average scouts to oversee your footballing operations as "pseudo" sporting directors, and then let them sign the likes of Potter and Maresca to run the team (I'll give Poch a pass as he did at least have significant top club pedigree), and sign a load of mainly kids with potential for exorbitant fees, while simultaneously demonstrating that you have zero idea how to compile a balanced elite level squad.

So what is it ?

(1) A speculative bet on the PL market and club valuations doubling in 10 years regardless of how the club is run ?

(2) A real estate grab for Stamford Bridge ?

(3) A desire to completely destroy Roman's legacy at the club ? (H-J Wyss must be creaming himself at how this is going LOL)

None of it makes much sense as things stand.

It's just 1), there's no plan or hidden complexity behind it, it is what American venture capital has been doing for 25 years and will continue to do so until regulation bites it. They will expect to break-even on valuation on the back of a boom in USA football interest post-World Cup. It's a glorified pump and dump scheme which unfortunately means that no matter how bad Boehly/Clearlake are right now, whoever buys the bag after they sell will be much, much, much worse.

For the time being, their interests and the fans should be aligned, as obviously new fans will want to support the successful teams. The transfer schemes and club restructures are just window dressing, the real money will be made when these owners and other American owners coerce the PL into American-style profit-seeking endeavours (39th round, inaccessible VIP ticketing, Super Leagues, etc.)

Don't overcomplicate things. They are American venture capitalists. So you see what you get. Just look at what they do in general and you get the idea. I understand the negatives and the positives of it.

What they need is the team doing well financially and that means it needs to do well in the sporting side as well. Those two are heavily aligned. We as fans want that as well. I am not going into ticket prices as I am not a match going fan. Basically the prices are going up as they have done so unfortunately that will cut out fans that can't afford it.

We also want young exciting players. I think fans prefer Cobham youth but seem to be fine with Manchester City youth as well.

What is not aligned at this very moment with fans and owners is the plan that requires time. Fans want quick success but the reality is we are far from competing. We can change managers every year as we have to find the next Pep/Jose or we could just stick with what we have. I personally would like us to give time to Enzo. He is learning as is the young team.

What fans seem to want is the Roman way of buying experienced players and coaches. We might go that way in the future. But I don't think we are there yet. I'd like a coach to build the culture like Klopp, Pep and Jose did.

Klopp 14 years in management. 2 league titles in a top division, CL finalist.

Pep 11 years in management. 6 league titles in top divisions. Multiple CL winner.

Mourinho 4 years in management. 2 league titles in top division. CL winner.

Maresca. 1 and a half years in management. Sacked by Parma after 14 games and took a PL team to a Championship title by one point with some of the most boring football their fans have ever seen.

These managers can't be compared, honestly insulting.

To think we are being compared to the Geordies shows how poor things are.

Is Moreso that they are better than we are, in every department, from the top down.

I would agree with this if I saw evidence of Enzo learning. I am worried he already believes he has 'learned' everything there is to know, and is entirely focused on doing things his way even if they are proving to be regressive and unsuccessful.

As for "quick success", I think the part you don't (want to) acknowledge is that Chelsea were already a successful team, had structures already in place to sustain that success, and there is no reason why the change of ownership should have resulted in this level of underperformance. Your argument would be absolutely valid if Chelsea regressed from title contenders to mere 4th place chasers, but we are much worse than that.

If we had never spent 1.5 billion i would be more at ease and hoping we invest well in upcoming transfer windows.

The amount of money spent does not align with our sporting position. It's embarrassing and worries me so much. I fear this club will go bankrupt and into obscurity.

What was the point spending a billion if we don't see any success from it?

They are the owners and decide what is best for their Chelsea. As I have said multiple times before they want the team to do well as do us fans.

We were a successful team and in many ways still are. They bought the club and decided to empty house and start with their plan. I have no problem with that. You buy Chelsea and try. Then we come and criticize.

I think the plan on paper at least is pretty sound.

1,5bn argument is the one the media is throwing around. If you empty house completely it costs alot. In another scenario we spend 600m and keep many of the old players. I like the total reset. Whether it works is naturally judged in the future years and not now. Every successful team on this level is on that average age mark 27-28 or older.

Players don't grow in a vacuum, they learn and are supported and mentored by more experienced players. That is the reality of professional sport.

Even Abramovich didn't empty house when he took over. Man United's freefall started when they did empty house.

It is such an arrogant and idiotic point of view that we cannot judge these owners right now because we cannot possibly comprehend their plan.

To be fair, if Roman took over now, he would also struggle or face a harder task than he did in 2003. Back then, there were many genuine talented top level players of both youth and experience that could slot right into your team.

This era of football is much different. We have a lack of strikers and goalkeepers have it harder with having to play out from the back.

The most important role now is the recruitment team, so our owners have been massively let down by our recruitment team. They need to be sacked for their failures and replaced.

Recruitment got hard under the final years of Roman. Yes we won the CL but other than Rudiger, all those players are crap.

I'd be willing to bet my house that if Roman had took over in 2022 and spent £1.5b we'd be in a much better place than we are now.

They learn from experience I am 100% sure that is the case. This is something we did different. You have said we are not doing anything different and here we go. You contradicted your own point. Anyway that is not my point here...my point is the young lads are learning together and leaders emerge. Good example is Enzo Fernandez. He has taken a role. Also Tosin is taking role but he is a bit older. Joe Cole and Mikel have said you need experienced players to learn from and that is fair and they can have that view. We don't have much of that and that shows at this very moment. Maybe it doesn't in 2-3 seasons when these lads are closing the peak age and have faced Liverpool 10 times instead of 3. Maybe. And maybe we will buy a couple of experienced players come summer.

Regarding MU. They have ton of experience. Tons. Not even close of what we have. Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes, Maguire, Shaw, Lindelöf, Evans...

I am not being arrogant or idiotic. Look at this forum. What a f**king cesspit it is these days. Nothing is positive, nothing is good. One massive tell was when we were second and people started to enjoy Chelsea and it wasn't so after 10 games the coach, the owners the football the world is the worst place. Maybe it is so...I am losing interest hanging out here.

What we need to do is to enjoy this ride and build up to hopefully more successful seasons and NOT do what MU fans have done and live in the past.

Roman had his way. I am sure that is the case. Roman is now gone if you haven't noticed. New guys new ideas that takes time.

Hard not to notice with how the club has gone to complete sh*t in the short space of time.

Don't worry though, maybe this year we'll get a front of shirt sponsor on the 3 season of trying.

I wish to one day be able to bury my head in the sand and pretend that everything is okay like this.

You actively avoid any point people make and just keep reiterating that we need to trust the process and if we want an opinion maybe we should become billionaires and buy the club. Zzzzzzz.

Depends on who he hired to scout players. I haven't forgotten the uproar and online protests about some of our transfer activity with Emanalo.
