They are a bunch of c**ts with a superiority complex. They feel that being from the USA makes them superior to Europeans, and that we need to learn from how things are done across the pond so that they can get top money. Footballing results are not relevant as long as they can make money out of other commercial revenues, which would be dented with relegation, so let's get rid of that European notion that you can get relegated to lower divisions!! The whole thing sounds so much in line with what is coming out from the US in this last few months with that bunch of rich populists in power. f**k them.

After hearing what Todd said in his interview, I’m still as flabbergasted on the entitlement they think they have! It’s been since day 1!

Not only Chelsea, but they think they can come in and totally change Premiership football to their plan. The entitlement is off the scale and other teams, as well as Sky, broadcasters and the FA must be thinking they are complete clowns too! People talk about player ego’s but this is next level!

Agreed. Yet some, even our own fans, think we are the entitled ones for not giving them more time and wanting them out.

In a couple years, if after a few clubs get promoted (Sunderland, Leeds) and other clubs finalize their stand upgrades on their stadiums (Villa), we can honestly find ourselves bottom half of the Premier League table with regards to stadium capacity size.

Yup.

And for those who did not want to watch either video, Todd was not willing to address:

  1. The lack of anything to do with our stadium.

  2. Comment on Vivid Seats, which I have now found out his company, Eldridge, owns the majority of (over 40%), so they run it!

  3. Our front of shirt sponsor mess.

Now should not all these 3 be big concerns regarding "business of football"?

The PL is awash with money, financially it massively outspends every other league. Its income is almost double that of the next richest League. ( Germany)

This crazy race to bring in even more cash is ridiculous in football terms, it's obviously to increase returns for wealthy corporate investors.

With so many clubs now owned by Americans, and none of them are selling, sadly the direction it is all going is looking somewhat inevitable. 3 more owners and they'll have the majority needed to vote just about anything in, and there will be eff all the others can do about it, assuming they do in fact even want to.

Now part of the Billionaires tick list ... ski chalet in the Swiss Alps or Aspen, Yacht in Monaco, Premier League Football Club ...

And that is why those still backing this ownership are so blind.

This is not just about Chelsea. It is about sport, our culture, our heritage. Not just England, but European football will be affected too.

We need these owners out, we don't want our sport turned in to the NFL. That means no just BlueCo, but the Glazers, FSG and the rest need to be pushed out.

Blueco are the ringleader in this bid to change football, Todd just showed that.

Like a knock out blow. To think a lot of us felt Boehly was our last hope.

My children are getting older, so I suppose the club are doing a favor by creating more distance & I can then focus 100% on my kids.

It's like everybody just woke up and discovered that all the horses are dead in the stable but we should close the door anyway?

It is too late. All the clubs are owned. There is nothing that can be done short of a socialist revolution in the UK and that is noy going to happen any time soon.

They are a bunch of kunts. But they bought and paid for the soccer clubs. They now own the soccer clubs.

Maybe the EU may have been able to pass some laws on club ownership? similar to the situation in Germany. But you voted for the BreXit and you voted for less freedom and you allowed the vulture capitalists in and they liked what they saw and they bought it. They now own it.

it is deeply depressing, but this is the new global Feudal system - not just football. Look at what is happening in the world.

100% you should focus on the kids mate, otherwise you may miss out on something far more precious than football.

Yup that's what they are counting on. Everyone gives up and dies and they can pick the bones of the corpses for decades to come.

I didn’t vote for Brexit, I’m from the EU. I didn’t have a vote. But I don’t think the EU will do much, but I keep my hopes. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that what @SydneyChelsea mentions about the ECJ ruling against FIFA rules on players’ rights applies to the PL and they just eff off because they can’t make much money out of the club.

Even Birmingham FC are gearing up for a 62,000 seater stadium. Old Trafford redevelopment will eventually get going too.

Closest we’re getting is Nike putting Roman’s stadium plan on the shirt. 🤦‍♂️

It really irritates me that Americans, who have done nothing but ridicule this sport since before I was born, have come into it, decided to buy a ton of football clubs, and are now telling us that the way we have been doing things is wrong and we need to listen to what they do with their sports. Yeah, the most popular league, in the most popular sport on the planet, should listen to American billionaires, it's not like we haven't been doing perfectly fine without them.

Half of the Premier League and Championship is owned by Americans who are looking to change so much about the game, and I all I can say to that is "who the hell do you think you are?"

They are capitalists - vulture capitalists. They believe that there is a lot more money to be made in soccer [our Football]. In capitalist terms they are probably not wrong. Football - our football - is the most popular sport in the world. The NFL Superb Owl competition had a viewing of 264.9 million people worldwide (202.4 million Americans). They have half time shows and pop singers and the such. By comparison the viewing figures for the World Cup are 1.5 billion people. For the Premier League games the viewing figures are bloody high and the games are watched all over the world. Much higher than the supper Bowl NFL thing. Then we ask the question which league makes the most money? The NFL makes the most money - $18 billion a year. The richest sporting league in the world. The premier League is like the 5th or 6th richest sports league and makes around $5.8 million bucks. And so these yanks can see that obviously they can buy these clubs in the UK and Europe relatively cheaply (it is all for sale and there are no restrictions) and they can raise that portfolio and make lots more money. The EPL and maybe the future ESL (European Soccer League) have the potential to generate a much MUCH greater income . . . .and that is capitalism and greed.

They bought it. They own it. There are no restrictions. They have zero accountability to the local community or supporters.

Premier League clubs make money from matchday ticketing, broadcasting and commercial merch. (Nobody is making any great money through player trading). Matchday ticketing will be tickets for tourists. Broadcasting - they will negotiate increasingly better deals - what was the latest one? Netflix? lol. and Merch and expensive endorsed products. It really does suck imho - but this has been happening for years now.

That's the dream, but I won't be holding my breath. Brexit means the ruling doesn't automatically apply to the UK, although I guess the UK's competition law has since adopted the same principles as in EU law so whatever is illegal there might be illegal here. Similar principles were already confirmed in City's case vs the Premier League, albeit in a tribunal and not an actual court.

However, if the rules are confirmed to only apply in the EU (and therefore, UEFA) and FIFA vote to have a two-tier, EU/non-EU system, it could see a massive transfer of wealth away from European football to AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, with the UK's backing. Simply put, UEFA clubs could have to pay transfer fees to sign players from outside the EU, while being unable to charge transfer fees for players moving within the EU, while non-EU clubs can offer transfer fees for EU-based players meaning that any club would prefer to sell to non-EU clubs (ie UK or Saudi).

The UK and Saudi have too many fingers in FIFA's money pies for them not to vote together in their own interest, and if that happens, the Clearlake/Boehly model could become very profitable.

But, doesn't the PL belong to UEFA? I mean, if the PL decided to follow FIFA rules and not accommodate to the rules in the continent, couldn't that put at risk their participation in the European competitions such as Champions League, Europa League or even the participation of England, Wales, Scotland and NI in the Euro?
