Very strange season yet the traditional bug 6 clubs are challenging for top 4 aside from Arsenal who haven't really spent any money for a number of years and Chelsea who have invested heavily. Not entitled to be top 10? So if we get relegated im sure you will still back lamps and say "it's okay, lampard doesn't deserve to be sacked, we are not entitled to be in the Premier League". What an idiot.

Well you want Lampard sacked after half a dozen poor results, not sure who the idiot is Laddy

I think we also need to accept that no-one has the divine right to win trophies or be guaranteed of finishing top 4.

bullsh*t, Man City has been challenging for the title every single year

City are a cut above everyone at the moment and that's because they have owners with more money than anyone, a great squad and possibly the best coach in football. City are what we were when Mourinho was first appointed but instead of us continue building, we have messed up for one reason or another and let others catch up and overtake us.

But these things always go in circles and nothing is forever and even City aren't guaranteed success. If (when) Pep leaves and they also lose a few of their current best players, they will find it harder just like everyone else. But I think they'll win the PL this season!

In fact for first time Guardiola is pragmatic because of all of injuries, Covid over the players. Do you see at present 70% ball possessing and wins with more than 2-3 goals? Last season he had injuries and saw what happened.

Now Aguero is on isolation.

I don't think he's being that pragmatic, the low scores in City games are more down to Ruben Dias at one end and poor finishing at the other.

Compared with this season and his previous seasons in City, Bayern, Barca he is pragmatic now.

Has there ever been such a big divide on here? Jose second stint?

Wasn't here for the Jose meltdown but there was certainly a divide with Conte at the end and Sarri.

That doesn't actually mean anything, it's just random words and doesn't address my point

What is your point? DID we beat some of the tops? Are there more strong teams that last season???????????????

You think that we can be in top 4 with that performance ? What about Everton, Liecester, Tottenham, City, Liverpool, Man United, Soton, West Ham? Arsenal is 2 points behind us, Villa is with 3 matches less

I understand English is not your first language so I'm not going to get into an argument with you.  What does either of your posts to me have to do with us being 5 points away from 4th place, which is what I said? Nothing.

Dude, answer the questions, don't talk to me craps and bullsh*ts

Must admit in recent managers I wanted Jose to go, was gutted when Conte left but didn't lose any sleep when Sarri went as never warmed to the bloke just as he never warmed to us supporters.

With Lamps I think the division is largely longer term and older supporters (of which I am one) who want to see us buck the trend and give a club legend a chance to build something, so be a bit more patient so don't sack him after a few dodgy results and bad performances. Newer and youngers supporters are more, "f**k this, the bloke is failing so why does he deserve special treatment".

I can understand the frustration and it is a tad hypocritical as I admit, if this current run was Sarri, I would be saying get rid. But that's because as touched on above, he never got what Chelsea was all about and never bothered trying to build a rapport with the supporters whereas Lamps is CFC through and through and will never think of leaving.

But looking at our upcoming fixtures it could all be academic. I do think the club will stand by him but on a game to game basis. Think we need some good performances and plenty of wins and realistically can only afford to lose one of the following:

Luton (H) Win

Wolves (H) Win

Burnley (H) Win

Spurs (A)

Sheff Utd (A) Win

Newcastle (H) Win

Plenty of winnable games there, even allowing for our recent patchy form. If we can win the ones I've said and avoid defeat against Spurs it puts us in much better shape before the cL game with Athletico. If we do lose a few of those and play badly, then you have to fear the worst.

We can win all of those. The biggest Banana skin is us being charitable to Sheff United.

I am not a "dude", I have tried to make allowances for you being new, posting in a second language and not being very bright, but there is no vaccine for stupid, and no allowances to be made for someone being a prick.

Another on the long, oh, so long ignore list.

Look deep and understand how far we are in reality

I looked chigo deep dish pizza type deep.....it's still 5 points.

People acting like no way to come back from 5 points...."what do you expect the teams above us to drop enough points"  as if in a context where the top team has still lost or drawn well over a third of their games ...the best performing team.....we cant expect points being dropped. Really?

First quarter of the season it was Frank talked about as challenging for title, and OGS out as inept.  A quarter of a season later it's reversed ...... and in half a season that dynamic cant change again?

Im not saying I expect to be challenging for the title....TBH, I've thought that was well premature and a bit more of fantasy than reality anytime it was talked....dont care what was spent. We know you dont win the league by spending the most... but if you think top 4 is already gone.....well explain to me how MUFC got from their start to top of the table in half a season, and how 5 points is now too much to overcome for the second half.
