I see that for some people, other teams in the table don't exist 😄

I support the idea of a long term manager. It would be great if it was Frank as he is an absolute club legend not just with performance as a player but for his character. But I still wish he would have cut his teeth somewhere else as a manager so he would have a track record to fall back on when the things go wrong.
Can you imagine bui=yomg a player with one season at Derby where nothing of consequence was achieved and making him a star player at Chelsea? Would never happen.
what ever you think about Sarri and Conte and Mourinho and Ancelotti they had excellent track records before and except for Sarri after Chelsea.
I know Guardioa didn’t have much background either so it can be done but if Frank had actually got Derby into the premier league it would be better.

The style that Conte brought and the Style that Sarri brought were very clear. Look at what Ancelotti has done with Everton in a short space of time. Everton aren’t going to win anything but the supporters are likely a lot happier than they were.

Please chill out a bit, JustChelsea.  It does no good antagonizing long time members of this forum, unless you want to be banned real quick.  I can guess that you are having a bad day, wherever in the World you may be, but just try to relax and not be so angry.

Cheers.

But looking at our upcoming fixtures it could all be academic. I do think the club will stand by him but on a game to game basis. Think we need some good performances and plenty of wins and realistically can only afford to lose one of the following:

Luton (H) Win

Wolves (H) Win

Burnley (H) Win

Spurs (A)

Sheff Utd (A) Win

Newcastle (H) Win

Plenty of winnable games there, even allowing for our recent patchy form. If we can win the ones I've said and avoid defeat against Spurs it puts us in much better shape before the cL game with Athletico. If we do lose a few of those and play badly, then you have to fear the worst.

Win Burnley, Spurs, Sheffield and Newcastle. Those 4 wins in a row and we're back in the top 4 conversation.

Easier said than done but that's all we need, out of all those games Spurs would be a great way to turn around the season, we need to win against a rival anyway so why not a win against them?

I still have high hopes and if Sarri could turn the season around just by keep playing his tactics, Lampard can turn it around by making his own better.

I went for sack as I fear with Frank staying we will not get into the top four and so lose the £50m we tend to get from getting into the Champions League.

In this day with Fair Play and financial constraints we need to be careful with financial incomings and outgoings.

We are short a decent defensive midfielder, James does not inspire as top quality right back and we need a better striker option.

I don't blame Frank, think he did well last season yet the big purchases this season have not really come off and the football is often ponderous and we are susceptible to the counter attack.

If you had taken the trouble to go back some pages, you would have seen that I already have. Unlike some, I don't want to go over the same again and again. Also, with posting something extremely silly like that some people think other teams don't exist only confirms you represent the sort of recent addition to our membership that doesn't appreciate a levelheaded, balanced, long term view.

Where i'm antaginizing? I ask questions, answers are laughting > you don't scare me with bans. OKAYU

With Kante back I expect to see Frank utilise 4231 more. I haven't voted because I prefer to see what the majority think without my input. I think being a new member on here may mean I lack credibility on here but I'd like to think I'm one of the voices of reason.

Seems simple to me, the football is bad now no question but Frank has us in the last 16 of the ucl I think we all expect to win the next 2 rounds of the fa cup and whilst the league position isn't great we are literally at the half way mark.

I think its fair to be conflicted and want better football, whilst also wanting Frank to succeed. For me Frank needs to do what he did last season and show us he is flexible, one of the reasons we heralded him was because he showed tactically he could adapt to the opposition 433, 4231, 343 (3421). With more players he should have more flexibility yet he has been more rigid this season. I believe Frank has the tools to get us out of this slump and so I'm actually in the let him stay camp for now....assuming he shows us he can adapt to his players not just force them to play one way.

Not only should you not fear for tomorrow but this is an issue of a possible false hope since there is no guarantee that anyone else would be able to implement his tactics so late into the season. Our squad isn't that flexible, it took Sarri more than half a season to make his tactics work, on top of that we have a bunch of young players that might not be ready to deliver for someone new.

Remember last season when Lampard suddenly had players like Gilmour and Barkley stepping in and winning us games? He had the confidence to do that and it paid off. Lampard saw that Tammy got super tired, after all it was his first season on the big stage and out of nowhere came a wild Giroud and we could still get the result.

Remember one of the last games last season vs Wolves when Lampard put Mount to play as some Right-Winger-Whatever-Attempt-of-A-position? It didn't matter that Mount didn't know what he was doing because Lampard had so much faith in him and then boom... Mount won us the game single-handedly by a free kick goal and we finished top 4.

We do have a defensive midfielder in Jorginho, 2 seasons in a row as the key player he made most passes into the final third and we had no problem to build out team with him, in fact while he had a bigger role we were finishing top 3 and top 4, even this season when he played we did well most of the time.

My friend I think you forgot just how stubborn we can be, we were the team that simply refused to lose! Lampard will make that mentality in Mount, CHO, James, Pulisic and so on.

When we signed Werner, I expect him to backup puli and Tammy. Havertz was more potential buy.

So essentially what really change is willian <> Ziyech, if you ask most fans, they will say it is massive upgrade. Against weak team for sure, but against good team, it is not even close, I pick willian anyday of the week over Ziyech.

If the rumours are true Werner picked us over liverpool after being convinced of the project at the club. No way was he coming here to be a back up.

I don't rate Jorginho as a defensive midfielder under Lampard and think Pulisic towards the end of last season was phenomenal yet not this year so far, maybe one injury too many or the EPL has wised up to his moves.

Barkley now playing for Villa scored a number of goals yet Gilmour has not scored for us.

We are struggling and Frank is searching for the answers, IMO.

One thing I will say, there was a troll on here after the Leciester game, an Arsenal fan on a windup who was exaggerating how good of a manager Lampard is and how great the season is going. And it was pretty telling how many people were unironically liking his comments at the time.

what was even more amazing was the prats taking the bait.

I would rather get baited by a troll saying ridiculous things than liking their comments and agreeing with their ridiculous nonsense.

Whether it is Jorginho, Gilmour or the famous tea lady we need our midfielders, especially the deepest one delivering much fast, accurate passes to the forwards and wide men. Less time for the opposition to adjust, much less.

The fullbacks should arrive late not early   At the the monent we March the army upfield involving the fullbacks at energy step. Then after a five minute campaign and 100 passes to move ball up field land the opposition dig, the options are limited and poor. Let the winger and midfield get it up the park and early. Liverpool playwith the same front three most games and move the ball so much faster. But I’m not the coach. Lol.

For all the Xbox brigade on here that want Frank out soon as, I suppose Klopp must be sacked as well, there run is as bad as ours not scored in how many games? I leave that there for you boys, while you sit on the edge of your bed in your Thomas the tank engine pyjamas playing FIFA 2020 something!

With Liverpool appearing to be taking our challenge of who can look the worse, if we don’t get top 4 with how open it is then simply not good enough

There is absolutely zero reason we shouldn’t be actually top three with our squad.
