TT coached what should have been a 4-0 last night. Tactically we killed them and should have been 3-0 up with 15 mins on the clock. He can only do so much though, when the actual players on the pitch are having 25 shots and can't finish their dinner no blame can lie with the manager.

So you think he was right to bring on Saul and not one of the other subs available? We have seen enough of Saul to know that we shouldn't be surprised by his appalling display last night. Ultimately he cost us the equalizer and it could have been worse. TT could have put Chalobah in midfield even.

Saul and Barkley were the only options for offensive subs. What did you want him to do?

Pulisic was 50 shades of sh*te where he was playing. And Loftus Cheek had a real mare in midfield.

So his hands were pretty much tied again.

Exactly.

People seem to have missed that we only had 8 players on the bench last night, which included 2 goalkeepers (Kepa and Bettinelli), 3 defenders (Christensen, Sarr and Chalobah), and 3 midfielders (the semi-fit Kante, plus Saul & Barkley). The rest of the first team squad were unavailable. Not sure why we weren't able to use a couple of attacking academy prospects (say Vale, or Soonsup-Bell), but I assume there were good reasons for that.

As I said before, nothing to complain about the way we played last night and should have won it comfortably. But the Saul sub was not a good choice. Don't take out Alonso and bring on Saul, because that guy is costing us and everybody knew it before this match. You may argue that Alonso needs to be rested for Sunday, given the circumstances, play him the 90 minutes and grab the three points at home against Everton, and let's see if we play Wolves or it gets cancelled. Ultimately, beating Everton and losing to Wolves is ok as it gives you three points. If he really needed to make that sub, bring on Chalobah on the right and move Azpi to the left, that couldn't have been worse than bringing on Saul. I understand Barkley, he can still make a job to keep the result, but Saul?! Not on present form.

Similar situation to the PL in Italy, in that the early leaders AC Milan and Napoli are both going through a sticky spell, which has enabled Inter Milan and Atalanta to make ground with a strong run of victories.

We are now 4 points back from City, who have had to win 7 in a row to get that lead, and have been able to capitalise at a time when our player absence has been significant (largely unreported in those terms by the media of course). Similarly Liverpool with their 6 wins in a row.

There is a long way to go, and we are still very definitely in the title race. At some point, City and Dippers will also have some player absence that will impact their performance levels, and we need to be able to capitalise when that happens.

its impossible to fight against a opponent that win every game

They have and will drop points for sure. However so will we. If you look at the last few seasons somewhere around 90 points or more will almost certainly be required to win the league. What City and Liverpool have done so far this season is pretty close to the amount of points required. We were also very much on target for that kind of total until the last month. Now we will need to go on an extended run of wins to make up the ground if we are to have a chance of winning the league. To put the challenge into perspective our best run of league wins in recent years was 6 in a row in the early days of Frank's tenure.

Let's see

After Tottenham game, we've TEN easy games, that can put us in a good position.

I dont believe that we will challenge this year, after the draw agains everton. Game after game, focus in garuantee top4, and see what will happen

"Easy games"... ah, bless...

Right? We don't do "easy" games. I mean we had a nice return from our opening 5 difficult fixtures, however against Dross like Burnley, West ham and United we have thrown "easy" games away and then there is drawing with the combined Everton reserves and youth team for new levels of blowing "easy" games.

Deary me

As I have posted before it is not what I want to see happen as I rate him highly and believe he could build something lasting.

However I am not blinded to what has happened in the past with several managers, the players turning on them or simply being drained of all confidence and Roman chopping the manager. We have history of doing it and it often tends to lead to success so we have no reason to believe Roman won't do it again.

His presser confirmed Kai is currently negative for Covid and trained today, along with Kova. Wonder why no one seemed to ask if he qould dip in to the youth team for players like Vale or Jude SB.

Have you watched Vale and Bell play? I haven't but I very much doubt they are anywhere near ready for senior football at 17.

That's cause in the last 5 matches Man City and Liverpool have 5 wins, but prior to that it looked like we can compete with them.

I think we overperformed at the start of the season tbh, it was unlikely that we could crack a 90 point season in Tuchel's second year, we'll probably finish around the mid 80s

mid 80's would be an impressive points tally based on previous seasons, even if it doesn't bring the title. I think we will finish with something closer to the mid to high 70's. We will probably have about 40 points at the half way point and that is only because we got 25 points from our first 10 games with an exceptional start. With the AFCON, Club World Cup, and Champions League in the new year we will do well to manage close to 40 points from the second half of the season.

No just read the reports. Just might be better than going with Ziyech and an unfit CP.

Agreed. They are probably more suited to an FA Cup game. That being said I would still be confident in them playing ahead of Saul.

They’d probably do better as attackers than Bettenelli. Ridiculous having two keepers on the bench.

Exactly. As someone pointed out though maybe it was too short notice to have them in the squad for Everton.

Well it is not for Wolves. We should not be seeing 2 keepers nor Saul on our bench again. Not when we could have Vale, Jude SB, Webster etc there.
