About time a jinx worked on them. Has not on City since the CL final...

Liverpool v Chelsea can’t really be a title decider when Man City are clearly winning it.

It is a match for second possibly if we can put a run together.

@Kinkladze1871 congratulations mate, title in the bag for you lot already. And that is not a jinx, that is a spoiler.

We have Arsenal away and then Chelsea at home in back to back league games, That Arsenal away game worries me because unless we drop points tonight which I don't think we will, We will go into that game too complacent. Arsenal away has become so easy for us in recent years that If our concentration drops off 10 % I can see us suffering a setback this year. Arsenal are in superb form and they need a 'big game' win to prove they aren't like all the other Arsenal sides of recent years who bottle big games. If we get beat there and you lot beat Brighton/Liverpool, If your squad has the character which I  think they have, You'll rock up at the Etihad and do us which would blow the title race wide open again. Here's hoping the Liverpool v Chelsea game ends in a draw and we get out from the Emirates with a point worst case.

We face Spurs in a semi final the Wednesday night before we travel to face you Saturday morning. It may just be the league cup but because it is Spurs we won't get away with taking it easy.

When we show up at your ground we are going to be spent.

A proper City fan - still expecting them to bottle it despite all the recent success :good2:

A friend of mine is exactly the same. He's been a City fan since the mid-sixties though so it's understandable...

I bumped into him just before the season started and he was very apprehensive and pessimistic (CL final defeat, lack of Aguero). I thought he was barmy because I think Man City have been the best side on the continent for the past three or four years, but then realised that I am exactly the same.

Before a match a couple of months ago (possibly Leicester?) I mentioned to another friend that I had a bad feeling about the game; he looked slightly irritated and said 'you say that before every game'. I had a quick think about it and realised that he's right! Must have sounded insensitive considering that he's a Charlton fan...

Haha, As a City fan of a certain age, I will never forget rooting for Keegan's Newcastle side and thinking they wrapped up the league title when they had a 12 point lead over United in 1995, Only for them to bottle it, That forever lives with me. Also the year of the Agueroooo goal, United had a 7/8 point lead with 5 games to go and we still pipped them.

Here's something that might cheer you Chelsea fans up, Every time a PL side has blown a 6+ point lead at the top, The teams chasing were elite, Remember when Liverpool had a 10 point lead on us a few years ago and we tracked them down? Both Chelsea and Liverpool of this year are elite, No matter how bad the current form is, One is current European champion, Other is 2nd favorite for this years CL. Klopp and Tuchel don't strike me as white flag wavers.

Neither of them will give up for sure hut how can either of us catch City when you are in a middle of one of those 18 game winning streaks again?

Most of the bookies are offering 17/1 on Brentford.

Yes, the same Brentford that have beaten Arsenal and West Ham, nearly beaten Liverpool, and absolutely dominated us for a significant part of the game.

Makes you wonder are they playing against aliens tonight...

Cause it would be throwing your money away. Is one thing catching Pool out, is another few levels lower beating Arsenal and West ham, but beating City the form they are in? Do me a favour.

You have missed the point. I never said Brentford are going to beat City. What I meant was anything can happen. City are not out of this world, and they are playing an away game, against a side that can be very dangerous on their day.

Didn't Liverpool lose to Leicester's second team yesterday?

Aye they did. Shock results do happen, just rarely to City when they are in this mindset.

liked how the Amazon commentator only talked about how it was a good result for city in the title race 🙄

In fairness, perhaps the Amazon commentator knew something.

Looks like we were wrong. TT basically ruled us out, saying "how can we compete for the title". Basically said too many injuries have resulted in too many dropped points.

The craziest thing for City is that they have zero injuries, literally 0… and the only injured player they ‘had’ was Ferran Torres and now he’s a Barcelona player. 😅

Not that this discounts your point in the slightest, but I think Walker and Rodri have/had COVID, plus Mendy is... ahem... 'unavailable'.

I do think the injuries have an effect on the rest of the team. Reece James has been someone who could create something or score himself. When he had to go off, I think the whole team was deflated. We struggled from then until Kante came on.

Oh God, I thought the woke police would ban you for using the word "retarded".  Better change it to intellectually challenged or something like that.

to quote Samuel Johnson about Maguire: "My boys let us be grave: here comes a fool"

De Gea should be United captain, he carries them every week. it's a bit disrespectful towards him that he isn't captain
