It may well happen, but there's no room for playing the suspended games unless the league ends well into June-July, because February to May includes the Club World Cup, Carabao + FA Cups, CL. And that is going to take a further toll on players when they have to start next season in August to break up in winter for the WC... What a nightmare.

As long as the clubs take action in favour of the player's health. I'm all for it.

Will be a battle. Am sure the league will want the world cup postpone a year like the euros, and fifa won't want that.

Likely mean on a none European game week sides play Friday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday to to make up games and then back to European games Tuesday to Thursday.

I read that 4 of our players are out of tonight’s game with covid but it didn’t say who

It really does highlight even further that so many fixtures in a season can cause issues, especially in situations like this. The extensions to the Euro's and future extensions to the world cup and Champions League need to be cancelled, but we know it won't happen because of money.

Apparently a lot of United squad are unvaccinated and therefore if they are close contacts they have to isolate for 10 days. Vaccinated don't need to isolate for close contact and the lower rate of double jabs in the PL is part of the issue.

It's not good for the body to play a match every other day or so, even with rotation. 

Why can't the Premier League be more open about the criteria for cancelling games? We had at least 4 key players out today for Covid and possibly more will test positive in the next day or 2. Other games have been called off for less. United had their game called off without any real details released, yet Brighton were forced to play yesterday with limited resouces.

Can't see how the weekend games could continue if teams missing half of the players. United game got cancelled, why did we have to play with 5-6 out? Lock it down for a week and re-assess

Amen to that, save us from the pain. Am ashamed of the attitude when went in with for the game. Shocking, and not at the same time as they pull this same sh*t basically every festive period bar Contes first season.

One thing having lockdown but a complete next level having lockdown and no football! That’s really taking the piss!

So no suspension of the PL this weekend yet, so I expect that our game is not going to be cancelled and we’ll go on to get the three points

I don't think they'll be a suspension but if there is be sure the team will taunt us with a great performance like they did with that Everton game before the first lockdown 🤣
