Not a fan of Kalvin Phillips.  As Pep says he is a bit 'tubby'.  Not sure why Citeh, ever bought him tbh. He really is not a Citeh type of player, he is not a technical player like Kova, who is much more of a Pep player, but Kalvin could do a useful job at many a club, but NOT Chelsea.  I think there is a whole Klavin at City documentary coming out - I won't be watching it. 😄

But, you are right, we should start seriously looking at other options. Less  expensive options. AND I am not adverse to a player in his mid-twenties. We might need some players with a little experience to hold the squad together.

The money involved is obviously silly for such young players. 100 for Caicedo and 50 for Lavia. Along with Enzo that makes for quite an expensive midfield.

Word on the street is: Chelsea would like to get the Caicedo transfer completed as soon as possible and if that is not possible they will look to other options . . .Chelsea [quite rightly imho] think he is over priced. That ‘extra’ 20 million quid is a bit too much. Naturally.
 

Tchoumeni is a genuine option if madrid go ahead and press for mbappe.  But is that going to happen?

If Florentino Perez sold Tchouameni to Chelsea it would be his biggest mistake since well ...selling Makelele to Chelsea. 

If Real Madrid want to kick start our new era by selling us their best DM so they can pursue a flavour of the month attacker i'm all for history repeating itself!

Wouldn't surprise given the "agreement" back in January but he's pretty powerless.  His agent screwed up by not following Mac Allister's agent's shrewd lead.

Yes and No. 

All big money moves concern me. 

Law of diminishing returns as well as the personnel involved. 

What has he done to justify such a huge price tag. The tag is Brighton just being difficult and taking Chlesea for the fool we possibly are. 

I'm going to say I'm ignorant about him as don't watch him play but really difficult to reconcile him being worth £100m. Or any other player for that matter. 

Plus of course the issue I have with us selling more established players, in the league and as footballers, generally for half or sometimes a third of that amount yet seeing nothing wrong with his price.

If he is genuinely available, then I don't know why he wouldn't immediately become our number 1 target

Especially if the price is in the same region as that which Brighton want for Caicedo

I'm curious as to why these rumors surfaced in the first place? If Real want Mbappe I doubt they sell their only DM to fund it.

Just picked 2 random clubs mate. Indeed we are the reported only club after him so far, so his options are us or stating at Brighton.

 

If you look at his comments today, and what he said about a possible move to Arsenal in January, the difference is night and day.

Clearly he is clam about this situation, hopes the move comes through but also knows he is young, talented and at a good club with a good manager. Another good season and more clubs likely are beating on the door and he gets a move he wants, if he does not get it this summer.

 

Also let's look closer to home to Lukaku and what a player desperate for a move does.

Or if we don't want to go to that level how about Mount? No request but did not sign a new deal, force the club to drop our price by 15mill.

 

Looks to me Moises is hedging his bets. Wants to move to Chelsea, knows it won't be his only shot at a top club if it does not happen.
