Surely we walk away from this now. They value him the same as West Ham value Declan Rice. Now whether Rice is worth £100m is one question, but he is an established premier league player, seasoned England International and a European trophy winner. Caceido has had one break out season.

One of the drawbacks of selling your entire midfield is that teams will know you desperately need to replace them and can therefore rinse you. Brighton are doing the sensible thing.

We've already lost out on Ugarte & Rice so they will know we are desperate.

If brighton want 100m for Caicedo, just move on to new target. I don't know who but a 20m stop gap will be fine. 

Although I like Caicedo as a player and would like him at the Club, he is NEVER worth £100m. Moreover, I am sick to death of Brighton and Tony Bloom constantly raping Chelsea,

Cucurella £60+m, Potter many more £millions and then he has the audacity to offer us £30m or less for Levi Colwill who is at least TWICE the quality of Cucurella. Time for Todd to tell Mr Bloom to do one !!!

My only real concern, and it's less about Caicedo and more about our overall squad makeup, is a lack of height in our midfield and attack - would a taller DM/CM offer us more security when defending set pieces?

We need to play hardball with brighton and walk away. The player wants to join us and in reality no other club is interested in caicedo at 100 mil. We are weak if we pay this, 80 mil is generous. Lavia seems like the obvious direction to head if hes not fully sold on the scousers.

We obviously only know about 10% of what the conversation is, but I would like us to make a relatively public offer with a view that they take it or leave it. 

The guy was apparently promised an exit for a fair price, 80m is a fair price.

As far as I understand there is an agreement in place if a Champions League club comes in for him. We of course aren't a Champions League club right now.

Much like man utd played the mount transfer. Offer on the table but we are going to look at alternatives if this doesnt go anywhere.

Being quite widely reported it would be one of Tchouameni or Valverde on their way out to fund an Mbappe move.
