Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"

Bloom and Brighton can demand £100m or £150m or £200m. Should we just pay what they are asking?

Moises Caicedo can choose to move to another football club. Brighton can choose to keep him against his will. When a club chooses to keep a player against his will it has historically never ended well for that club. The club may have the legal agreement, but they do not have the player. Whats so hard to understand about this?

The clubs – Chelsea and Brighton – are ‘negotiating’ and Chelsea have put in a very substantial and reasonable offer for Moises Caicedo.  It is ‘ongoing’ and Chelsea may at the end of the day just walk away.

No he cant if hes still under contract. If he's unable to move now because no club an pay his valuation, he will be angry or sore for a week and two and just knuckle down and play his best football. Theres always another window or next year to move.

This is Chelseas own doing! We overpaid for Enzo, and since then all the prices for good midfielders have been based on the price we paid for him

Looks like this is off. Lets move on and either try and find a good replacement or trust the young guys. Pochettino has gone on twice publically and said he need an experienced midfielder.

Still no transfer request, still no move on Caicedos part to make this happen.

He can put in transfer requests till the cows come home. Brighton are happy to sell him. At their price.

You mean Arsenal paid 105m for Declan Rice because of what we paid for Enzo? I don't think that's how it works. It's called market forces.

Any source saying the deal is now dead? Interested to know if true.

It’s looking likely this is off now and I can’t help but think Brighton have overplayed their hands here. Yes they get to keep the player but at what cost of future young signings seeing this and their agents saying we need a reasonable release clause because we see what’s happening now with other players.

We're making a huge mistake not signing him. He makes us so much better.

Brighton don't want to sell, such a price tag shows that.

They will sell him and he'll be a Chelsea player before we kick off vs Liverpool. 100%

Before Liverpool? I don't think so but let's see.

I don't like the term 'Experienced'.

Raheem, Cucu, Kepa,... all experienced. Even in the prem.

I prefer the term 'Quality'.

You might not like the word, Pochettino used it. He probably means quality as well and just reflecting the idea we cannot solely trust in Santos and Casadei.

There is this idea that Brighton are running rings around us, etc.

Is there? Because they had their best ever season and we our worst in Pl era?

I'd say no in football terms but in transfer market, possibly and they are lovng it have no doubt.

If we want Caicedo I think we just need to offer 90m+ (BP). If we think it is too much we just look elsewhere. That is pretty simple.

I don't feel Brighton is doing anything wrong or act like arseholes here. They protect their asset and their club.

We have slapped 50m to Gallagher and 45m to Chalobah. Not to mention sent back Brighton's offers for Colwill.

People are fuming over this for nothing. DeZerbi this, Brighton that.

Brighton don't generate money from their academy players. They don't actually have a track record of players integrating from their academy into the first team. They mainly source young players across Europe and South America. I can't think of how many players have come through the Brighton academy and settled in their team apart from Dunk which was years ago. Despite them not spending loads on players and them having a quality academy, we have a better record of bringing players from the academy into our team than they do.

Indeed. We had 3 of our former Academy players in the Brighton team last season and as you say Brighton had one of their former academy players in the same Brighton team. They may have a need for an ongoing supply of young talented players from elsewhere? Maybe?

Seems like we have a new strategy

every player you want we are going to take until you give us Caicedo 😂

There are always options.  There is always haggling.  A little guile.  A spoonful of tenacity and you negotiate.  You may not want to negotiate with terrorists, but you can negotiate with Mr.Bloom.  Mr. Bloom AKA The Lizard. Lol. We are negotiating with a reptile.   I would take my pet Hawk with me to the meetings and feed him little tidbits of lizard chunks throughout the negotiations. Set the scene.
