October 15, 20223 yr Without knowing how long Mason is out for, and with 3 games in 6 days, I am thinking about this game differently. We will need Gallaghers energy against Brentford and United without Mason, if he is out. Ivan Toney is also in lethal form so we will need Silva at his best to try and stop him. That means rotation against the side in the poorest form of the 3, Villa. So I would rotate and play as many players in their best positions as possible. Kepa Dave Chalobah Koulibaly Cucurella RLC Zakaria Ziyech Havertz Pulisic Broja Need Broja to terrorize their defence and make space for the 3 lads behind him. We will need Kova and Gallagher against united and Brentford so that means Zakaria gets his chance for me. Be interesting to see how Potter deals with these 3 games and 2 of our most important 3 players out for at least Villa and possibly all 3 games.

Change of formation all of a sudden? Zakaria and RLC? The trio behind striker in which neither of them is in good form? I just can't see the point. We've got a tough away game, best team of this league couldn't beat them. There will be more suitable matches for this much rotation. Edited October 15, 20223 yr by wizardous

There will be more suitable matches for this much rotation. Changing the system is based on I am not sure if asking Silva, Chilwell, Kova and Dave to play 3 matches in 6 days is a good idea with us already losing players to injury. Of the 3 games Villa are in the poorest form. We need our big hitters against united, who we have not beaten in a while, and last time we played Brentford they thrashed us, and Toney is in good form. That would mean the need for a back 4 here, unless we used Chilwell or Silva in this game and rested them against Brentford. Imo we need to manage Silva, Kova and Chilwell carefully. Silva is vital, Kova and Chilwell have a habit of breaking down if we play them too frequently. I also don't believe Dave is capable of playing at a top level for 3 games in six days. We have seen with Kante what poor management of a player can cause.
October 15, 20223 yr I like RLC over azpi at rwb but potter quite rightly wants to play him in midfield. Other than RLC Dave is the only choice except maybe Zakaria or something strange, maybe chalobah. I won’t be surprised if chukwumemeka gets some more minutes. Havertz can play if it’s kova and Jorginho ‘Jorginho and kova can’t play 3 games in 6-7 days and neither can Dave or Auba. so there will be rotation and opportunities.

October 15, 20223 yr It just wouldn't be Chelsea if we didn't have 3-5 top performers out during one of the busiest fixtures in the season
October 15, 20223 yr Hi I'm a Chels member currently living in Brum. Does anyone have a spare ticket I could buy off them for Sunday's game? Cheers Alex (COYB, celery)
October 15, 20223 yr We just lost our best player till after the World Cup. When it happened to TT we lost the plot and slid down the table. How will Potter respond to it?

October 16, 20223 yr Feels like a banana skin to me - hope I am wrong. Games coming thick and fast and injuries will start to catch up with us. Can see a surge from AV before Gerrard gets fired in a few games. I see a 2-2 draw - not all bad as think this is truly a rebuilding season for us (on and off the field).
October 16, 20223 yr Old git analogy again, but never used to hear about man managing players. To Ron Harris-“ Ron, you’ll get 15-30 last minutes tonight, we’ll rest you the weekend so you’ll be fresh for the cup game.” Ron- “ f**k Off “
October 16, 20223 yr Definitely feels like a banana skin with injuries, Villa’s poor form. Seems too easy. We need 3 points here as Brentford away will be a tough game
