time RLC was gone he will never be a premier league player , all he can do is dribble once or twice then loses ball. its all he has ever done. SAME FOR PULISIC  not done enough to keep in team , get rid.

They have good contracts they will likely never better again.

Will probably need to wait until their contracts run down.

play a back 7 then..

Take the best defender from the academy & put him in midfield and have him follow the play. That should stabilize the midfield & give the defense time to breathe. Although it won't solve bad goalkeeping or sh*tty finishing

Kepa's heroics have disguised our indifferent form.

you could see Brighton had more desire than us. That said we actually played a bit of good football but most of it was the same old stuff.

Sterling needs a rest preferably until next season.

hopefully this will be our worst result of the season, we can see how Potter developed a good footballing team at Brighton with minimal resources and losing good players on  a regular basis.

took him a while, let's give him the time to do the same with us, no reason why he cant.

Im as pissed as anyone but people calling for Potter's head are naive. It's just going to be the same think as firing Tuchel. The personnel of the team are what needs changing.

True.  That's Potter's Brighton team that walloped us, look how he developed them into a good footballing side  , give him time and he can do that with us

But is Brighton's football sustainable? It's similar to Tuchel's, and it's proved to not be sustainable in the league.

That depends. Do you consider being walloped at home by Arsenal to be worse?

I think their football is sustainable considering the resources and players they have to work with.

They don't expect to finish top 4 , their fans are happy to be in the PL watching good football, and so would I to be honest

Right but Brighton fans will tell you 80% of the time they create loads of chances, can't convert, and drop points.

Sound familiar?

I just want to rid of this back 5 formation. I really do.

I'm not sure what you mean. Only pointing out that it was the team that Potter developed that walloped us..

They did. I meant you said this is hopefully our worst result of the season. I would consider getting walloped at game to Arsenal next week much worse.

Yeah that's true enough mate,  but I reckon it's a lack of a decent striker that's the problem, and Brighton don't have the resources like we do to p

splash out millions every year for expensive disasters like we do !

yeah back 5 needs to go, agreed

Oh yeah, definitely mate, doesn't bear thinking about !

One good thing is Potter can’t/ shouldn’t play wingers as wing backs next week or I’d expect the worse. I’m not saying a back four will make us tighter but play with more than 3 defenders on the pitch

Sterling needs to be playing where he's used to playing not as a wing back ffs

grammatically incorrect

There is a video out there that shows the players coming to applauded/say sorry to the away fans. Mount was in tears.

They don't have to be from Cobham to love Chelsea. Drogba, Cech, Lampard, Essien, Ballack etc. So this is not a "pick thr Cobham kids" point. It is a pick the players who do/will love the club and dump the rest Potter!

A team that loves the club won't humiliate us like that.

Excellent result against Salzburg so why change it?

My own theory is that two of the players who started against Brighton shouldn't have been in the team, dressing room issue or just not good enough:

VS Salsburg VS Brighton

Arrizabalaga Arrizabalaga Same
14Chalobah 14Chalobah Same
6Thiago Silva 6Thiago Silva Same
32Cucurella 32Cucurella Same
10Pulisic 10Pulisic Same
23Gallagher 23Gallagher Same
5Jorginho 12Loftus-Cheek Different
8Kovacic 8Kovacic Same
17Sterling 17Sterling Same
9Aubameyang 19Mount Different

Great from start Awful from start

Frankly, I am a still a bit lost for words. I left it 36 hours before posting, as I fear I would have said something that might have got me banned. I did not see this totally abject performance coming, although having gone to the United game, all the signs were there, at least in the first half. Potter clearly has not settled on either a formation, constantly changing it, or a starting XI (constantly rotating it) which I suppose goes hand in hand. Regrettably, it once again seems to come down to the Players and their complete lack of desire, pace, determination and team spirit, once more, they do not look happy, so is the GP coaching and/or backroom team not gelling with this Group? You could see that Brighton wanted it more than us, just like United last week. We don't tend to perform like that in Champions League games, is that because the players feel they might still have a chance in that Competition, whereas in the Prem, we are already so fat off the pace, they have given it up?   The Arsenal game scares the sh*t out of me, but given that we are Chelsea, we will probably turn in a blinding performance, where all of our woes of the last two weeks are immediately forgotten.........................Well I hope so anyway 😉

Cucu was exposed big time because our two wb/winger did not want to defend.

Which was obvious for everyone to see from minute 1, Potter must have seen what was happening, he could of changed it very quickly, like he's done in previous games, but the fact he didn't and we went in at HT 3-0 suggests Potter was being stubborn, or he wasn't watching, take your pick.

He is probably embarrassed now with what he got Chelsea to pay and probably hoped thar Cuca would play his way out of the poor form, but instead, he got much much worse !!
