Only manager to take PSG to a CL final, won CL with one of the worst Chelsea squads in years (without even parking the bus), he absolutely is one of the best managers in the world

You’re stuck 2 years in the past, clearly. One of the most expensive squads ever assembled in PSG, of course they should’ve been pushing for a CL.

I’ll give him his due, he had us completely solid for 4 months when we won the CL. Now how do you explain the other 12 months? Spent £250M on players he hand picked and somehow made us worse than when he arrived.

Arsenal next in the league, brace yourself.. it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. They are going to RUIN us.

I hope Boehly is as trigger happy as he was with Tuchel, Hansi Flick/ Luis Enrique could be available after the WC

Who would you consider to be a world class manager then?

Does it matter? We've been through multiple "world class" coaches, yet each and every one of them eventually failed to dominate with Chelsea. I still blame the board to this day, as we should have done so much better to create a strong squad that challenged season after season, but they did not.

That a stupid yank that knows nothing about football owns the club

Then he can count himself lucky it was the yank in charge. He’d have been gone months before if Roman was actively in charge.

The likes of Pochettino completely fumbled at PSG, it's one of the hardest jobs in the world despite how good their squad is. Pre Reece James getting injured we were dominating the league and looking like serious title challengers.

Even then last season with a massive injury crisis and huge instablity at the club we still comfortably finished top 4, got to 2 domestic finals only losing on penalties to Liverool, and only lost in the Champions League to the eventual winners Real in extra time after a wonder goal (no other team took them to extra time if I remember correctly).

Covid, club sanctioned, no owner at helm, divorce, all of the above.

Another tough defeat, of which there has been loads this calendar year. Brentford, Leeds, Southampton, Arsenal.

Games that we just get blown away in.

Didnt think team selection was right, too attacking.

Poor finishing, wide open defensively and got slapped.

Conte ran away with the league, as did Mourinho (3 times) and Ancelotti, Tuchel won the Champions League. The only coach that was considered top level that's flopped here was Scolari.

Our attackers aren't suddenly terrible.

They're being played in a system which sets them up to fail. Sterling didn't suddenly lose the ability to play football. He's just not a wingback. This has been going on for a month now. Pulisic went from looking real positive a couple weeks ago to struggling. Because he's not a wingback either. Kai can't lead the line. Mount is not a creative player even though he's being asked to be.

And all of that is leaving the defense outnumbered with huge gaps to take advantage of whenever we lose the ball.

Don't tell me our players aren't quality enough to not get run off the pitch by Brighton. This is on Potter and his system.

The one thing I will say about Potter is that like Tuchel I don't understand his attachment to the 3-4-2-1.

I think it works really well with Chilly and James but most players don't have their combination of attacking and defending sensibilities.

You take James or Chilly out and it just doesn't work.  Cucurella can maybe hold down Chilly's spot but no one else can play James's spot.

Play 4 at the back and let the wingers be wingers.

After spending 200 million in a window 5 games into a season? If you think tuchel isn’t top 5 in the world you need to watch more football

This is the downside to Roman’s quick trigger finger. The standards were kept high but the squad was constantly asked to adjust to a new style every ~2 years.

Newcastle win, Spurs come from 2-0 down to win and we’ll be 1st on MOTD tonight as the headline of the day.

3 goals in one half of football is well beyond these players.

Need a big January transfer window or we’ll find ourselves knocked out the Champions League by March and then we’ll be too far off a chance of getting a top 4 spot.

This season is not looking good.

You know what would be a good way to rectify the mistakes in today's game?

Potter taking everyone to drama class and learn throat singing or some sh*t

hahahaha and make it available on Chelsea TV

Tactically I think he is.  But again he lost the locker room.  Like it or not there no coming back from that.

A "master tactician" Potter couldn't outplay his previous mid table team with better players at his disposal.

It shows you dont need expensive players. You need effective players who are suited to the roles they are asked to play.

That's where you're wrong, our team doesn't have better players at his disposal. We spent a truck load on garbage.

never a dull day as a Chelsea supporter

Sometimes i think we play great and then this happens

every matchday:

luckily there is another game in a couple of days because it really depresses me if we lose (in this way, if we play well and we  don't win that's different)

Every club had to deal with COVID. Sanctions hurt, yes, but we had the same squad that won the CL. He then spent £250M without any interference, so why were we going backwards?

People are so quick to pull any excuse for Tuchel to avoid the possibility that he just might not have been good enough.

It's different managing Brighton to Chelsea. Brighton can play on the counter, whereas we have to break down low blocks almost every game. It's why we looked so good against Salzburg, who are somewhat of a pressing team.

People saying Potter would make us more attacking than Tuchel didn't seem to get this
