I voted for 'No, he should be given more time', because of some of the reasons already stated in this topic. Some of the criticism towards him I agree with also, but I disagree with the mindset of the people who want him to get sacked in this situation.

I mean guys how about having some realistic expectations about the clubs situation, just because performance and resultswise Potter so far is a downgrade on Tuchel, there is no reason to think that Potter can have no positive effect on the club in the longterm.

With the owners having a longterm strategy which should suit Potter's profile, how would it be beneficial to the club if he gets sacked, because of a results crisis which is clearly influenced by an injury crisis, players underperforming and a squad quality problem?

Even if Potter has underperformed in some matches and probably will do so with this squad until the end of the season, I would still prefer if the owners back him and have a proper plan which they follow than act in a volatile manner.

I'm in agreement with you. Exactly how I feel too.

In the words of Luca, in football you don't lose, you learn.

Wise words Luca, and always true to some extent. Some times more than others. Some games you put up a great contest, lose but walk away with your head held high and valuable experience and lessons learned.

Then there is today, walk off, utterly humiliated after putting in a performance that wouldn't look out of place in the great book of French Military Victories.

Couple of performances by the youngsters are a bit of a good lesson learned however the main thing we learned is something we already knew. In our senior players we have no leadership, no stomach for the fight and absolutely f**k all sense of pride.

It's f**king embarrassing to see the likes of Hall trying to make an impression on a game when players with the experience of Jorginho, Koulibaly, Ziyech, Havertz and Mount have signed off within 15 minutes of the game starting.

Mount aside, and he is only saved through age and a hope he can rediscover his ability, the other four need shipped in the summer.

Jorginho was a disgrace today. Captain my arse. Every minute he plays for us is a wasted opportunity to play...bloody anyone else.

I know there is a growing push for Potter to be punted and that's understandable given the results and performances we are seeing but f**k me Tuchel incrementally built a squad not fit for purpose.

Easy to be pissed off about today but we were never going to win that with Silva being rightly rested and without James, Chilwell & Kante.

Think it is clear that we play our better football when we have Silva at the back with Zakaria in the midfield and then the likes of Hall & Carney to at least give us something to get excited about.

At this moment, I feel I NEVER want to see, Havertz, Aubameyang or Ziyech player for Chelsea again. They all look completely disinterested and the sooner they are gone the better, closely followed by Jorginho, Koulibaly, Sterling and maybe even Kovacic. Too many players just going through the motions - it's no wonder we are so easy to play against.

Surprised that KK isn’t in the the never play for Chelsea again list, not gonna lie

I also agree with him in parts. There can still be a longterm strategy in place even if we sack Potter though. It's Vivell and the other techincal directors that set the course of the club going forward more than anyone else.

Holding your hands up and admitting you hired the wrong manager doesn't mean you have to alter your long-term strategy. Hiring a manager that's actually proven could instead be immensely beneficial for both the long-term strategy and the present.

You mean go for Eddie Howe? I'll admit he's doing great work at Newcastle but do you think they would really let him go?

Could have maybe made a move for Arteta before the start of the season but I think that ship has sailed now.

Love how all the Potter fans are blaming this on Tuchel I wasn't his biggest fan but the excuses for this guy are now just getting hilarious from trusting the process to our club is changing so we need a new type of manager We need a winning manager who commands respect who is tactically astute. A board who know the game from players to business acumen and understand what we have achieved as a club can not be tossed away on the egos and wim of the new board

Glad that they're singing for Tuchel, hopefully Boehly will notice

He won't give a monkies

I expect that Boehly also noted the chanting of Roman Abramovic that he won't be so please about!!

See above.

He will notice if the Bridge is empty and fans stop buying merchandise though.

Howe's certainly proved himself at Newcastle now. Certainly like the way he's got Newcastle playing with a squad that's far inferior to ours.

Pochettino is another. Some would probably stall at that due to history at Spurs but he'd make a big difference at this point.

He was also on our shortlist before we ended up on Potter in the end.

Does it not say more about Todd that he let Tuchel buy all these players then sacked him almost instantly after the window?

Neither of them would come to Chelsea, Newcastle have unlimited cash and Arteta has far better players at Arsenal. Honestly whilst there are top managers out there I think we should bring Tuchel back and let him finish the project he started, he loved being at Chelsea.

And I'd like to go back to 1981 and have another loose, curly perm and give it large at the local discotheque but I know that's not going to happen either.

He would fail, the owners already made it clear they cannot work with him.

Never say never. More realistically I'd take Poch though, he turned Tottenham into an extremely good side on a shoestring.

Why not? Surely they have the same goals, to win trophies. I don't get what issue was so big that Boehly felt he needed to sack Tuchel. It's not as if Tuchel was openly critisising the board like Conte was.

Yes, good shout. And he was a triumph at PSG. Anything ex-Tottenham I'm all on board with. I don't give a flying f**k about club history and fan culture. A Pochettino and Benitez partnership is probably what we should aim for.

You wouldn't take Harry Kane here?

On what flipping planet is Eddie Howe coming here 🤣 season starts for Potter on Thursday. Let's see how he does til end of March where every game is winnable - even with this team of wet blankets.

Hopefully we've managed to build some confidence heading into the summer and can ship out and ship in what's necessary.

For the record, I think Tuchel is better than any manager available. I'm not just saying bring him back because he shouldn't have been sacked in the first place. There's very very few managers that are objectively better than him, Klopp is the only one that comes to mind. Boehly should swallow his pride.

Incidentally Potter's first 18 games have a better record than Tuchels last 18.

Tuchel won't come here. So let it rest.

Now that's got a different angle to it completely.

1. Kane is proven top quality.

2. We have no centre-forwards at all.

3. It would seriously, seriously f**k up Tottenham, and their fans would go into meltdown.

So, yes, 100% I would. It be even sweeter if we could give them Jorginho as part of the deal.

But Levy would not sell us the sh*t off his shoe, so that wouldn't happen either.

Is that actually true? Potter has 15 points from 11 league games. Tuchel had 10 from his first 6 this season.
