What's the point of getting into a competition if the (as the history of the manager in this tournament suggest) the best we can realistically hope for is to scrape past the group stage? I think we could win the Prem, especially as he's the only manager that can get the best out of Lukaku (or we could even sign Osimhen).

March 19, 20233 yr It's quite funny people cite mentality for the reason to bring Conte back. The same Conte who openly stated he couldn't compete with a Covid, injury striken and out of form Chelsea team that had Kepa, Sarr, Saul, Ziyech and Lukaku starting. The same Conte who said he couldn't compete in the UCL with Juve only for Alegri to do just that with the same players. And that's before i get into him competely waving the white flag with us.
March 19, 20233 yr And our squad is made for him conte guarantees fast results and we need that so without conte, which world class manager is available?

Or when we refuse to spend £250m on Kvaratskhelia and he's upset that he has to make do with the likes of Sterling and Nkunku. And above all that there's a thing called self respect, I don't want a man back that effectively threw (atleast) a game and took the piss out of every single supporter for months.,

Spot on... don't want the man child back
March 19, 20233 yr He won trophies everywhere, then he decided to come to Spurs, ruined his record and reputation, of course he had a huge rant and ready to pack up 😄 Of course Boehly won't go anywhere near Conte, this a man who wants to be in total control and couldn't give 2 cents about the owner. He's destructive, but also easier for the fans to get behind him because of his style and record
March 19, 20233 yr since 2017 that we can't make at leat 80 points in the league. our performance in league it is been very very bad I think Conte can fix that, but I understand that most of you have doubts about him... I have more doubts about Potter, tbh.

I doubt you will find a Potter supporter out there who would not turn to Potter out if this season is repeated next season. I know I would want him sacked if we ended up mid table and out of both cups early again next season.

Don't think our owners would consider such a firey character like Conte, but that does not mean he won't try, especially seeing the money spent, and players like Enzo, Mudryk, Fofana and James in our squad. Sounds perfect. Let's spend 250 million odd pounds on a mix of senior replacements and a few youth for a manager named Tuchel we sack 3 months later Then spend another 250 million odd pounds on a whole new squad of kids for a new manager named Potter who we sack after 9 months or so Then spend another 250 million + on a bunch of "proven winners" that Conte would demand if he came in as he doesn't trust young players (based on his history at Juventus, Chelsea, Inter and Tottentham) In the meantime all those players bought previously can be sold at a loss or loaned out. That sounds like perfect financial management and exactly how to run a club. FFP to the moon! Edited March 20, 20233 yr by Guest
March 20, 20233 yr Why on earth anyone would want this massively overrated, petulant little man child back is beyond me. He literally stopped taking calls from the club in the summer, what kind of grown adult does that for f**ks sake.
March 20, 20233 yr Surprised he didn't get sacked for that. He could probably call Levy the n-word and still keep his job. Reminds me of the Ted movie 😂

March 20, 20233 yr Conte's won 5 league championships and was voted the best manager 4 times. Conte is an amazing manager. He is a project manager. Full on for a couple of seasons until he snaps. For entertainment purposes Conte is amazing. I absolutely love his rants. Some of it is somewhat cringe worthy but 100% entertaining. I love when people around the sport express emotion. That is what Graham lacks of. I hope we stick with Graham still. No need to go back to something we don't actually want.

March 21, 20233 yr I think it says a lot more about Tottenham rather than Conte that they still couldn’t win any trophies with him. He’s clearly a serial winner and world class manager, if he can’t get the best out of them then nobody can imo. I think he’s far too destructive as a personality and it would be a complete nightmare for Boehly so it’s probably not the right move. He’ll win trophies for sure, I wouldn’t be surprised if we win league again with him. No chance in Europe though.

Think I read that in the past 32 years, Spurs have had 40+ managers that have all won trophies before and after managing Spurs, whilst there has only been 1 manager that actually won something with Spurs.

Problem is, those traits only come out if he's given next to perfect circumstances and even then only domestically. If he has issues that requires an awful lot of hard work to sort he waves the white flag and behaves like a 6 year old. For example could you even begin to imagine his behaviour if he had to face the obstacles Lampard and Tuchel did? I'll never get not be amused with his comments after the league cup game at Stamford Bridge, the lineup we put out that night was inferior to any avaliable to him for his entire tenure at the club that caused him to moan constantly yet he basically said in the post match interview he couldn't compete with it, that despite having the player he claimed was his dream signing while with us who was directly up against the mighty Malang Sarr. Like I said the other day the guy is a walking contradiction. Edited March 21, 20233 yr by Argo
