Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly will want to understand why Julian Nagelsmann lost his job at Bayern. They will need to be convinced there is no risk of another personality clash, but that he can also inspire the progression that stalled under Potter. (Athletic)

It was the pathetic second-half capitulation at Tottenham at the end of February that cast proper doubt on that belief in the Potter project. That was when Boehly and Eghbali conceded that, perhaps, this was not going to work after all. (Athletic) #CFC

Some players questioned whether Graham Potter was actually too nice and not ruthless enough. One source suggested to The Athletic that Potter had asked a member of the team, “What do the players think of me?” — which merely undermined his status. (via @David_Ornstein)

There were no concrete negotiations with Julian Nagelsmann yesterday. Christopher Vivell and others are pushing for him. However, Todd Boehly & Behdad Eghbali shall prefer the more experienced option. (via @Plettigoal / @SkySportDE) #CFC pic.twitter.com/wglhOTDdrZ

🚨John Terry would be open to the idea of taking a role under the new manager.

Would love that and it’d really work as a go between manager and players! So long as he’s more employed by the club as opposed to a number 2 for the manager, just in case we oik out another manager quick!

He has massive experience and a perfect position for him, move him up Todd!

Christopher Vivell and others are pushing for Julian Nagelsmann, but Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali prefer the more experienced option.

Luis Enrique is more experienced?

havent managed a club since 2017

only real experience is a club with MSN that probably is on auto pilot with Xavi and Iniesta pulling the strings and also Pep legacy and style well absorbed by the team.

why is he out of job again?

From what I've heard and read Ruben Amorim is my favourite.

Nagelsmann as 2nd choice and Pochettino (would be higher tbh but I just know how our fanbase is going to react to him - former Spurs manager).

Love Luis Enrique, his charisma, attacking style and hipster choices but we just can't play 4 atb. Playing that formation for 10+ games played a big part in Potter's failures and sacking.

Nagelsmann's record in the CL group stage with Bayern

2021-22: Won all 6 games against Barca, Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv, with 22 goals scored and 3 conceded

2022-23: Won all 6 games against Barca, Inter Milan and Pizen, with 18 goals scored and 2 conceded

Just to show his tactics clearly work outside the Bundesliga as well. Yes it's Bayern but Bayern's squad aren't any better on paper than Real or City, who had much more trouble in the Champions League group the past two years.

Boehly just blew our chance.

We may have more of a chance of beating them now that the distraction of Potter is out of sight. The players can focus better without his confusing tactics and general lack of authority.

You think Potter would have knocked out Madrid?

We had more chance with him managing than his assistant who admits he has never even picked a starting XI before, Boehly must think Ancelotti is overrated.

If Potter had lost the dressing room then not neccessarily. Though I think the plan is to appoint someone by the Real game, otherwise the board would have got a proper interim manager in.

So we should be beating Liverpool tonight going by your theory with Potter out of the way, i look forward to it.

Lost the dressing room excuse again, thats five managers now on the trot then, its just player BS excuse for not being good enough, well they just lost their excuse, so expect the flood gates to open tonight at home against the worst Liverpool team in the last 10 years.

It will be easier for him to keep things simple and use the tried and tested formula of playing players in their usual positions. Even without a manager Madrid will dread playing us as they've always found it difficult to beat us.

I actually think we will as well to be honest, whilst I thought Potter was tactically poor in the first place, I think the players weren't really playing for him by the end

I don't think Tuchel or Sarri lost the dressing room. At worst Tuchel might have upset Captain America, but most of the squad seemed happy with him

Depends on how we line up.

We got to the Champions League final with Avram Grant in charge didn't we?

Everyone one of them had reportedly lost sections of the players, which means disgruntled players chatting sh*t instead of owning the problem.

We had a legendary spine of players mate, don't you dare forget that.
