I don't think Tuchel or Sarri lost the dressing room. At worst Tuchel might have upset Captain America, but most of the squad seemed happy with him

The way they played against spurs didn't indicate in any way that the players were unhappy with him. That result was a f**king travesty and probably the momentum breaker for us. Had we won that game it would've been much different.

Luis Enrique is more experienced?

havent managed a club since 2017

only real experience is a club with MSN that probably is on auto pilot with Xavi and Iniesta pulling the strings and also Pep legacy and style well absorbed by the team.

why is he out of job again?

Xavi was a squad player under Enrique for one season before leaving.

We got to the Champions League final with Avram Grant in charge didn't we?

I'm convinced Ten Cate was in charge in all but name that season.

From what I've heard and read Ruben Amorim is my favourite.

Nagelsmann as 2nd choice and Pochettino (would be higher tbh but I just know how our fanbase is going to react to him - former Spurs manager).

Love Luis Enrique, his charisma, attacking style and hipster choices but we just can't play 4 atb. Playing that formation for 10+ games played a big part in Potter's failures and sacking.

Why can’t we play 4 atb? These same players play 4atb effectively for their national teams. We aren’t going to win the league any time soon playing 3atb, it isn’t sustainable over a long season.

Approaches, contacts between Julian Nagelsmann and Chelsea have started two days ago. Discussions continue on long term project. 🔵 #CFC

Nagelsmann, 100% open to discuss about Chelsea project.

Chelsea, taking their time - Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim also appreciated.

Anthony Taylor single handedly ruined our season with that one game. With 12 points from 6 maybe Tuchel would have stayed, though I think Boehly was pretty intent on getting rid of him

The Pep v Enrique comparisons I find unfair.

Pep implemented a possession based system that had a strong principal of the midfield controlling and dictating everything. He really did only have one game plan and relied heavily on once in a life time players in Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta. (Not discrediting his time at Barca at all).

Enrique implemented a similar game plan but was more flexible. He implemented both a possession based/counter attacking game. Some of Barca's counter attacking display at the time was phenomenal (Arsenal away in 2016 as well as Atletico away in 2015) He relied a lot on his full backs and the front 3 more so the midfield.

The last time we won the league was playing 3atb to be fair, it's becoming a much more effective system in recent years. It's extremely press resistance, and it gets the best out of James/Chilwell (who can push further up) and Thiago Silva (who needs protection).

Has Enrique succeeded anywhere outside Barca though?

We had a legendary spine of players mate, don't you dare forget that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Real knock us out, but I wouldn't be any more confident about that game with Potter in charge either. Under Tuchel was the only time I felt confident this bunch could beat the likes of Real.

JT comes across as the type of character to let his passion dictate his decision making. Everytime I hear him talk about certain players, he makes them out to be the best thing ever. Just listen to him talk about anything to do with Chelsea. Doesn't matter if a player is lacking something, because if they're at Chelsea, they're the best. I can't remember seeing any interview or punditry where Terry talks about what a player needs to work on to improve 😆

He's a Chelsea fan really, have you seen the video of him at the away game with the fans, he was loving it !!

Not sure he could control himself as a manager , but he won't lack for desire and passion that'd for sure

He had very short stints at clubs where is voluntarily left after a season. Not really had enough time to build anything and I think taking the Spain job was the wrong move career wise so I am not surprised he regrets it.

I think its evident the new manager needs to have authority and man management experience.

I would say Celta Vigo was success all things considered. 9th with a team that spent a large chunk of the prior decade in the second tier and avoided relegation by a point the season prior.

The closest equivalent i can think of would be Kompany finishing 9th with Burnley next season, something that i'd imagine would put him amoung the favourites to succeed Pep at City, if not place him top outright.

I'm not convinced he's a good assistent, but at least he'd be giving any slackers a good bollocking, plus he would be able to impress how fans feel about beating teams like Spurs and Leeds is to the players new at Chelsea.

Thiago Silva is probably playing his final season, & the league has progressed from those Conte’s day. If that style was still workable, he would have won the league at Spurs where he has a world class No 9 in Kane, and a very strong supporting cast. As for getting the best out of James/Chilwell, I am not sold. We are still stuck in that 1 season where they exceeded their expected goal contributions. Between the both of them they have 6 goal contributions in 29 PL games, way off the 22 goal contributions they had the previous season. You also can’t build your tactics around wingbacks spamming crosses into the box. After investing so much money on young wingers, it will be crazy to ask them to learn new roles as inside forwards because of 2 players that can’t be trusted to stay fit.

City & Arsenal use 3 CBs in a modern approach where a fullback tucks in next to a DM, and you are playing a 3-2-4-1 in possession. It is way more effectively against opposition sat deep than just crossing balls into the box. A 3-4-3 can be easily nullified by sitting deep in a 4-4-1-1 and denying your wingbacks spaces to run into. Everton took James & Chiwell completely out of the game.

He also had no money to spend to improve the Celta Vigo side. It’s like Pep managing the Bournemouth team and expecting him to get them into Europe. As for the Spanish side, take out Pedri, Gavi Rodri & Laporte, and it’s a bang average side. Didn’t the new manager get hammered by a Steve Clark managed Scotland just a week ago.

So he's done a "proper challenge" that Pep apparently has to do to prove to Karen from Sc**thorpe that he's not a fraud 🤣

But on a more serious note that makes me more confident if we get him, thanks for that.

Chelsea want new head coach as soon as possible — fresh contacts with Julian Nagelsmann took place today after talks and approaches started two days ago 🇩🇪

◉ Nagelsmann remains the favourite candidate for the job with Chelsea long term project now discussed.

◉ The German coach is 100% open to discuss with Chelsea board about potential immediate appointment.

◉ Nagelsmann, still under contract with Bayern until 2026 so clubs agreement on compensation would be needed.

◉ Luis Enrique, also appreciated — he’d be keen on the job as Spanish coach wants to try an experience in England.

◉ No direct talks or contacts yet with Mauricio Pochettino, Ruben Amorim, Tite or any other option at this stage.

Really hope it's Nagelmann, the more I hear the more convinced I am. Maybe not as good tactically as Tuchel (though I'm not sure anyone is) but we'll see a much more attacking brand of football.

If he was still at Bayern most football fans would be dreaming of having him. I don't think getting fired should taint his star that much.

Been looking at the betting since Sunday a lot of money (although I don't know how heavy of a betting market it is could be all small bets) has been placed on Enrique was as long as 12-1 is now 11-4 with Paddy Power Nagelsmann was long odds on is now 4/5.

The more I think about it, the more I think Pochettino would be the best fit.

PL experience with a good track record of working with and developing young players. Also love the idea of him coming here and winning trophies to really piss off the Spurs fans. All our ex managers they've had and still won f**k all, we get Pochettino and go on and start winning silverware - I'd Love It!!

The only negative I have is his game management but at least he knows what he wants. Knows the league and his development record speaks for itself.

Surely a lesser risk than either the two favorites in Enrique and Nagelsmann.
