Same was said when Tuchel was appointed, many thought he wouldn't even be an upgrade on Frank let alone win us big trophies.

Conte aswell, as much of a w**ker as he was on season 2 the general narrative was he was underwhelming and wouldn't be able to have us competing with Pep, Jose and Klopp and he more than did even if briefly.

I await to be happily prove wrong Argo.

Our new interim coach Bruno (Brighton Legend btw) thinks Potter did an " amazing job " at Chelsea ....according to "The Athletic"

He said that in his press conference.

One thing I would like is a proper no.2. The club have always done well at appointing a Chelsea legend as number 2.

Get JT in.

I like it. @Zetaand JT, a dream team.

Our owners really have got us into a mess. Sacking Potter had to happen, but he should never have been hired in the first place. Now we are scratching our heads at who we should bring in next.

I am 100% against Pochettino. I would rather we just stuck with Potter until the end of the season than bring him here. It would be Benitez all over again, there is too much bad blood there. It may not mean a lot to some fans, but rivalries like what we had with Tottenham when Pochettino was there and Liverpool with Benitez are things that stick with you forever. Some may see it as being petty and illogical, but this all comes with the passion of the game. There are just some players and coaches that can never be accepted and Pochettino is one of those people.

It's a really tough one because there are a lot of negatives and doubts that comes with every single one of the names on this list.

We need to get this one right, otherwise we'd have no credibility left when comes to hiring managers. If we need to take our time, so be it. Not a fan of Pochettino, forget the history at Spurs, he couldn't even win the league at PSG. If we wanted him, could have got him after Tuchel ,  so battling out with Spurs for him makes no sense. Another Potter type manager is not what we need, we need an authority figure and one has managed big teams. Obviously Naglesmann makes lot of sense, don't have many managers at this age managed the biggest team in one of the major leagues. Just sign him up, wait for the summer if he doesn't want risk it.

Amen to that.

Whoever the owners appoint odds are they make a mess of it, their ratio of quality vs garbage since the came in is very bad.

Only Enzo and Badiashile on the former for me.

Fabrizio has said the 2 current favorites of the board are Nagelsmann and Amorim.

While neither has been directly approached third parties have been contacted about them.

I reckon Jorge Mendes, who we know played a big part in the Enzo deal, and is close to the owners, may well be that third party talking to Amorims people and giving positive feedback to the board.

Question is, if we go that route, would he be a Jose, or an AVB?

From watching the arsenal games I was very impressed, arguably outplayed them both home and away. Has a win percentage of 69% across his 4 season career which is ridiculously high as well, and has a reputation for developing young players. Sporting's squad have an average age of 24 currently.

He is pretty inexperienced though, with only 172 games in management, compared to 315 for Nagelsmann (Tuchel had 452 before he came here).

What about all the folks in this forum who describe themselves as "real fans" (not Real fans as suggested in the second-lamest reply evah). I'm pretty sure the CFC monitors these threads and is probably preparing the contract as I write this... 🙄

Maestro Conte, J-Nags, or Hozay ... or Herr Flopp...

Get JT in.

Only if the new manager is fine with that and the player is actually a good coach. The last thing I want is for us to turn into United where we are forcing our former players on the board and the management just for the sake of it.

Tottenham have been rivals and hated for decades but we've had a number of ex Tottenham players here who became fan favourites. And even one who was our manager.

It's never been a problem before.

Pochettino maybe unsuitable for other reasons, but it would be the first time we ruled out anyone because of their previous Tottenham connections I believe.

Isn’t experience overrated when it comes to quality managers? You either have what it takes straight out of the door, or you don’t. Arteta’s only experience prior to managing Arsenal was being Pep’s assistant, Xabi Alonso was also managing Real Sociedad B before managing Leverkusen where he is doing exceptionally well.

Fair point. So long as he puts his long term issues vehind him.

just only one portuguese manager was capable of managing big clubs and was mourinho but because he won a champions league.

Seems a bit of a restrictive matric, Mou would have lost RO16 that year had Tim Howard knew how to catch.

Not sure why JT failed as a coach at Villa. Would love to have him in some capacity.

JT comes across as the type of character to let his passion dictate his decision making. Everytime I hear him talk about certain players, he makes them out to be the best thing ever. Just listen to him talk about anything to do with Chelsea. Doesn't matter if a player is lacking something, because if they're at Chelsea, they're the best. I can't remember seeing any interview or punditry where Terry talks about what a player needs to work on to improve 😆

The press are reporting we want to interview both Pochettino and Enrique, as well as Spalletti, though I highly doubt Napoli will grant that unless it is in regards to joining in the summer.

Funnily enough Conte is the last person I would want. Actually, it would be a toss up between him and Sarri.

A toss up with Sarri!? Wash your mouth out just. Next you'll be suggesting we should have Jorginho return!
